Excellent challenge entry. How did you achieve that realistic look through rendering? I've seen other LDD builds rendered through POV-Ray that look less like real bricks. It took me a few seconds to realize this was in LDD.

This is my largest MOC for BoBS and also my first BoBS MOC with a full interior. I hope you like it! Crecopia Commerce 1 by Brandon Stark, on Flickr Crecopia Commerce 2 by Brandon Stark, on Flickr Crecopia Commerce 3 by Brandon Stark, on Flickr With the completion of the fort on Dragonstone, Brandon feels he no longer has to worry about the defense of his settlement. So, he decided to visit many of the Oleander colonies to help them grow, and possibly to spread Ladrosian influence further in the New World. His first destination was Crecopia, Ile de Tyche, a small but growing and promising settlement to the northeast of Dragonstone. Today, Brandon lands on the Crecopia docks. A year ago, this was just a wooden dock leading into a few houses on the sand, and the area was quite lonely. Investing in Crecopia, Brandon's father purchased multiple properties facing the sea. Together with some other nobles, they built the Crecopia docks, along with a few properties on the docks. Within months, many moved to the city and rented out the buildings. Brandon visits the home of Jean Martin, a minor noble and good friend of the House of Lantell. Seeing the opportunity the wealth of the New World could bring to his family, Jean and his daughter Renee decided to move to the Oleander colonies. Because of the number of properties avaliable for a cheap price, Jean decided to settle in Crecopia, where he could invest in the city's properties. Meanwhile, looking to expand Ladrosian influence, Brandon offered to lease to Jean numerous properties in Crecopia, in exchange for 25% of the revenue generated from whatever was built on the properties. With the good opportunity to get rich, Jean quickly agreed, and he built numerous buildings on the properties, including residences, artisans, and factories. It was on one of these properties that Jean built his house. The building on the left is an artisan and the building on the right is a residence. The whole build is a medium commerce.

Royal Battery by Brandon Stark, on Flickr A new colony always needs a fort, to protect itself from any enemies. Thus, on a small island that stands at the entrance to Dragonstone Bay, Brandon Lantell, the mayor of Dragonstone, ordered the construction of the Royal Battery. The battery is located on high ground, meaning it is hard to storm, or to be hit by cannon fire, but can also fire down onto any ship trying to force its way into the bay. Though the royal architect in the New World instead headed to Stephanique to build a fort for Lavalette, Brandon was able to request another architect from Breshaun, who was able to make plans for a fort for Dragonstone. Construction began almost as soon as the first settlers began to arrive, and was finished quickly. The fort's construction comes just as war looms between Eslandola and Mardier.

School of Acropolis | Small Education -
Acropolis Education by Brandon Stark, on Flickr The School of Acropolis is a new addition to the city, founded by a group of Order clerics from the Old World. Looking to spread and maintain the Order in the New World, the Order founded the School of Acropolis. While the School's main goal was to prepare young boys to become Order clerics, the School now accommodates all children of Acropolis, giving them an education in reading, writing, arithmetic, and history, among other subjects, with an emphasis on the Order. The school has around five small classrooms, and is able to accommodate all the students of Acropolis, since the settlement is still small. With the rise of newcomers from the Old World, the Order has begun construction of a larger school in Acropolis. The School of Acropolis is run by 6 clerics, three Clerics of Zeus, and three Clerics of Poseidon. There is no Cleric of Hades arrived yet from the Old World, and none is expected.

That is a really nice tower you got there. I'm curious about the technique on the tree, stone, and half-timbered sections. It looks like a bunch of pieces were randomly thrown together, in a good way, of course. The texturing is amazing, as usual.

Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Brandon Stark replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
@Trooper919 It's okay. If you meant "claim" as in if someone has a story line there or something like that, then I also think that it is fine. There have not been any builds there at least since I joined, though I believe SkaForHire had a build there or something. -

Nice plantation. You've done a great job on the foliage and the plants. -
Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Brandon Stark replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
I don't think there's such a thing as "claiming" in Mitgardia, as it is in Kaliphlin or Nocturnus. Therefore, I think the Isles of Solitude don't belong to any one user, though maybe someone can clarify this for me. So I think you can put your elves on the Isles. However the proper place for elves is Avalonia. -
Nice series of builds! It's great seeing them all in one place. I have to admit, it's these builds that make me think about joining Kaliphlin.

The challenge is a great idea and all, and I don't mean to be rude or offending in any way, so I'll start by saying that Ecclesiastes has done a great job setting up this challenge and with his build. Anyways, my concern is that this might draw attention away from Historica itself. What I'm trying to say is that I don't really want a whole exploration boom or something. I mean, we have BoBS for that. My other concern is that this might draw away from the medieval fantasy world that GoH was intended to be. If that is not the case, then please disregard this. I am also not trying to be rude or offensive in any way. In fact, I think this challenge is great, and I will surely build for. Also, my second question, actually a few questions, is, referring to Category A. Will our sigfig be able to live on the island/place we discover? I actually have an idea that involves this. Is the place we discover going to be incorporated into the story line, or is it just just for this challenge? What I'm trying to say is, can we discover an island somewhere outside Historica, have our sigfig move to it, and continue to live there, as long as we still are associated with a certain guild?

The build already looks amazing. In fact, it gave me some ideas for future MOCs. Welcome back to Avalonia. -
Landing on Ile Sous le Vent by Brandon Stark, on Flickr While Dragonstone is under construction, Brandon has left governance of the settlement to his younger brother Charles Lantell, and his friend Captain Sault. Meanwhile, he has headed for the island of Sous le Vent, which currently is uninhabited by Oleanders. With a small ship and handful of men, Brandon plans to scout the island, and possibly even establish a settlement. For now, he plans to find a suitable place for future settlement, build a fort, and make treaty with any natives, if need be. As Brandon lands on the shore of Ile Sous le Vent with 6 other men; four soldiers and two sailors, he hopes he is the first Halosian to step foot on the island. Any encounter with Corrington or Eslandola might not end well. And he hopes that the natives will be friendly. He turns to speak to a Ladrosian captain. "I'm told this island has suitable growing conditions, few highlands, and has large winds in the north. I wasn't told if there were natives, though." "Well, if I'm correct, we will be the first Halosians these natives will meet, but it depends on how they think of us. If they're afraid, they might be hostile; if they're not, they will most likely be peaceful. We're farther east than ever before. I understand that we will only scout the southwestern part, then head back and build a fort? And that if we run into any natives, our plan is to make peace with them, correct?" Brandon saw, from the corner of his eye, two more boats of sailors and soldiers were rowing towards the island. These soldiers were not going to be a part of a scouting mission, but instead would hold their position on the beach, set up camp, and possibly build a fort. "Yes, we are the first Halosians, I believe. We only scout the southwestern part, as that will be the only part we'll settle. Our plan is to make peace with the natives, if they're willing." "I also seem to recall that the Oleander government isn't supporting us in our expeditions this far away, but also isn't stopping us though? If we run into problems, our only support is Dragonstone and Ladros. But again, let's be hopeful that the natives are peaceful." The captain shouted orders to the other men, who quickly grabbed their weapons and began to march. For Brandon, all he could do was hope the natives were friendly. This is going to be the first installment of Brandon's story. It's a little plain, but it mostly serves to launch Brandon's story.

Acropolis Tavern | Small Artisan -
Acropolis Tavern by Brandon Stark, on Flickr The Dubois Tavern in Acropolis is a relatively new addition. The tavern was bought by Brandon himself about a year ago, who leased it to a man named Pierre Dubois, the youngest son of a tavern owner from Valduria in the Old World. Seeing as he had no chance of inheriting, he moved to Acropolis, where he rented a property from Brandon, a building in close to the center of Acropolis with beautiful views of the sea. There, he established the Dubois Tavern, one of the first businesses in the settlement. Since then, he has married a local girl, and he has been making good money. Though the settlement is still small, the tavern is always bustling with the city's workers looking for a nice refreshment at the end of a work day. As he is currently exploring, Brandon has not been able to visit the tavern, but the account summaries have proven that the tavern is doing quite well.
