Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Brandon Stark replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
So I just got the Council of Elrond and Witch-king Battle for its original price, and I am planning to buy the Barrel Escape later this week. Even better, I have a one week break in school, meaning I can finally start some builds. However, I don't really know where to start; Historica is just so interesting, with so many stories. I also happened to find this, made by our very own guild leader, Rogue. I think this is quite useful for any looking to learn about the lore of Avalonia. -

I don't know if this is off topic or not, but do you know a good place to get Kingdoms sets for a good price? I've checked eBay, and the prices are all 3 - 4 times the original price. I have a shortage of peasants and Avalonian soldiers, and wanted to buy some for my future builds. If you know where, that would be great. -
Don't know if this is too late to chime in but I have the same problem. The only pieces to ever break for me were reddish brown pieces. One from the Kingdoms Joust and one from the Helm's Deep set. It would be great to know the cause of this.

Like with Titus, I really like the rounded section of the wall, and the tower in the background is also really cool. The moon in the background is also a nice touch, and I like the way you photographed it to make it look like nighttime.
-
I really like your irregular base, and the little path surrounded by the foliage is very nice. The tree is very spectacular, and I hope to be able to build that in the future. Your storywriting skills also amaze me. Looking forward to the next installment of your story.

Spectacular build you have there. I like the uneven and leveled base, and the colors are also great. The way you built the cottage, with those round pieces, is very interesting, but cool.

Nocturnus Minichallenge II: Those Darned Barbarians.

Nice looking temple. Like with Henjin and Exetrius, I really like the stalactites. However, I would suggest you add some detail on the tan baseplate, such as a few stones/rocks, a path, or some foliage. -

Like with everyone else, your minifigure posing is just very cool. I also especially like your story.- 14 replies

Wow. This build is just stunning. You really captivated the Avalonian scenery with this. Your many types of trees and fields are just amazing. The different color leaves of the trees are also really cool. As for photography, the angle on the last picture is my favorite.

This build is very Nocturnian, since you included the river of red liquid (blood?) and the neon pieces, which are a nice touch. The rockwork is superb, including the trees on it. The bridge is also amazing, and adds to the rugged Nocturnian feeling of this build.

AoM: Walls Phase III: City Walls
Brandon Stark replied to Legofin2012's topic in Guilds of Historica
The wall's details are excellent, and the ground is also very cool. I also like how you included the back, with the market stall. -
I really like the idea of this, as you took something modern and fit it into the medieval world of Historica. The roof technique is also something I don't see often. A nice addition is the scorpion pulled chariot, which I have to admit is pretty funny.

The grass and plants make this scene very Avalonian, and the trees are nice, made with an interesting technique I think I should try. I also like the water, and the cottage is excellent, especially the vines/plants on the roof of it.

I have to agree with the others. That is epic. I can't wait to see what the finished build will look like. -

Like with the others, your first attempt was pretty good. I like the SNOT on the base. However, I would suggest you put some more detail of the ground, like some stones or tiles. -
AoM Store: Phase III. Arms, Arms, Arms.

The house is really great, and I like how you added the interior. However, like Henjin, I would suggest removing the distractions, and like Soccerkid, I would suggest keeping to one color on the ground. -
I'm speechless. Anyways, I really like the dense trees and grass along the river, while the sand is really nice too. The walls are great, and I especially love the round sections.

Amazing build. The stonework superb, and the wooden sections are a nice addition. I also like the foliage, as it is very Avalonian.

I present to you the official, better map of my island. Also, I would like to rename my island and province Dragonstone, if that is ok. I though it sounded better, considering we have a Flight of Dragons. Credit goes to Columbus for introducing me to this map making software. -
The Empire of Oleon: Sign-up and Discussion

Merci. I will make sure check each of the links, and see which one fits best. If not, I can always wait until somewhere with a more Quebec-like climate is discovered. I have my sigfig ready, but do I post my intro here, or on its own separate topic? I've seen users do both, and wonder which one is preferred. -

Thanks. But what are the other cities that don't have mayors? A few maps and/or links would be very helpful. Also, considering how Oleon is supposed to be this world's equivalent of France, what is the equivalent of Quebec? I would love to be mayor of that place. -

Hi guys, I'm looking to join Oleon, but I have a few questions. Can I found my own colony? Also, can someone explain to me all the basics of Oleon, and BoBs in general? -
This is awesome. I love almost everything in the build. Man, if you presented this back in July, I probably would've joined Kaliphlin.
