  1. I really like the comedian. It is nice to see another Castle-themed advent calendar, Yooha. I have the one from LEGO which actually is a nice change from the City advent calendars' police and fire men. Your calendar brings us inspiration for small scenes in the medieval landscapes.
  2. Hahaha... Great idea with the ice sculpture, Greg3. At first when I saw it I thought "What on earth is that?" I did not realize it was real ice. Are you planning to decorate the shops in Ballabreek?
  3. Probably no other LEGO town has such a history as Ballabreek. Brilliant story to tell and explaination of the background of the village.
  4. According to Danish TV2, Jørgen Vig Knudstorp will stop as CEO for The LEGO Group from New Year. New CEO will be Bali Padda who has been in the management for 10 years. Knudstorp will be President of the Board of Directors with responsibility for the brand LEGO. 5. Thank you for continuing this tradition, CopMike. This year I will give my contribution for the first time. At first it was hard to find an idea building on the theme "snow". Then I remembered my wife's first ride in a sleigh. She grew up in a tropic country, so she never had the chance to play in the snow, nor having a ride in a sleigh. After moving to Denmark, we had a winter with snow, so what else could I do than buying a sleigh? Then we had some hours of fun in the snow This memory gave the idea to my contribution in the Xmas Raffle 2016. EB_Xmas_Raffle_2016 by lakabricks, on Flickr
  6. In general I like the new Creator houses. They are the City houses we do not get. And even without the big panel bricks I agree, though, that often - at least a part of - the buildings are too narrow. And I do really not care for those ladder-style stairs, they make in the houses. A waste of space, if you ask me. It does not bother me too much, though, as I am thinking to rebuild the houses in town-style with open back. The Beachside Vacation does not catch my interest as much as the Park Street Townhouse does.
  7. Here in Denmark Brick Bank is being sold at DKK 1399 which equals EUR 188. Assembly Square will be sold at DKK 2099 which is EUR 282. VAT here is 25%. Apparently we might only dream about the prices you have got out there in Europe. I might use my "German connection" when buying this set.
  8. It was a great surprise when I saw the news on Brickset earlier today. And a pleasent surprise that is. I really like the Assembly Square a lot. Actually it is the first modular since Parisian Restaurant I just neeeed to have. Unlike other EB'ers, I do not mind the smaller size of the buildings. Probably because I prefer town/city styled buildings to the modulars, so it fits my plans better. As I am already in a Christmas mood, I have already imagined how the square would look with Christmas decorations and snow... Overall, I think it is a worthy Jubilee Modular - and really great with all those references to the earlier sets.
  9. Once again an incredible MOC from snaillad. Wonderful details, and I love that you most often place the MOC in another time decades ago. Outside the windows I expect a DC-8 is being readied for an intercontinental flight, maybe Rio?
  10. Fantastic skyscraper, Wooootles. I like the details if the facade. And I am happy to see you are back developing the Wasabi District. I remember and admire your earlier MOCs, and am therefore excited to see what you are planning now. Are you planning interior for every single floor - if there are floors inside at all? Or just for some on them?
  11. When there is a "hardware" in the title, LT is back Nice to see you are back. I guess it is the right way for you to start a new "subtheme". And I look forward to see how you define "Small Town USA" - I still remember "Small Town Denmark" As always great details - and I must say it is a massive shelving system they have got in ACE.
  12. Good to see there is still activity in Ballabreek and that they are keeping the traditions alive. I also appreciate the respect of the public transport
  13. A MOC might as well develop over time. First you build with whatever bricks you have got at hand to see the original idea in bricks. Slowly ideas on how to improve the MOC will develop and by time you can purchase the bricks required for developing the MOC.
  14. It is indeed a nice park, TheLegoKing. It does not look bare with all the flowers and two massive trees and the hedges at the edges... I agree with Dakar A, though, that the paths look a bit too uniform and it would be nice if some other sizes and maybe colours of tiles could be used. Otherwise I like it - and it looks really good with the buildings in the background.
  15. Almost the same story for me. Last purchase was the Century Skyway Airport in the mid 90s. I never put away my bricks, even though I did not buy new ones. And selling my bricks? No way, José! - I did not bring my collection, though, the first years after I moved to my own place, due to lack of space. Then in the beginning of the new millenium I began to have a wish to start building again, and I found the Blue Team Transport which fitted well my wish of having public transport in my city, so I acquired three of these. And then slowly thereafter more and more sets followed. - Catalogues I have collected ever since I was a child, and I have often found my way to the LEGO shelves in stores to see what was going on. One can say that my dark age was at the most "light bley"
  16. I do agree on this, Klaus-Dieter. The interior detailing is quite spartan, almost boring. The exterior I think is ok without being exceptional. When compared to the previous years' big sets, namely Heartlake Shopping Mall and Heartlake Grand Hotel, I find these sets far more interesting and detailed. That being said, the Performance School has a nice selection of bricks - not least tan - and a lot of windows.
  17. Hmmm... I really would like to get hold of Fun in the Park as well as the Fountain. My economy, though, says I should wait for Fun in the Park to get on sales/special offer (and then miss the chance of getting the Fountain... )
  18. That is good news, as I also wondered how on Earth they would bring those pianos up and down the stairs. Well... Mystery solved I was amazed when I saw the first pictures of these buildings, FiliusRucilo. They are very nice, not least the old greenhouse in the backyard with all those plants, including the fruit trees outside. I also like how the windows are integrated into the grey roof, very smooth solution.
  19. Great scene from Duckburg. You have made a lot of nice details, including a well-chosen minifig for Jones. I also like the flag on the mailbox. The star, though, I would say is good ol' 313. Well done, LegoJalex.
  20. You have got a point there, wgemini, it might be cheaper to buy four starter sets. The only thing is most starter sets contain police officers and fire men - which I guess most EB'ers have plenty of. Therefore Fun in the Park is so interesting - it contains more all normal citizens for the our cities. And accessories for the streets. I want this set as well, maybe even two of it. So far I have no grey hairs (for my minifigs - not personally... ) plus the painter will get a company, I guess. And maybe a gardening company...? And bikes... And... and... and... - I wait for some kind of discount though, as I normally do...
  21. 5767 Cool Cruiser. Bought second-hand, but not for the models, more for the bricks. I am not sure, though, that I am going to keep it. I have been wondering if I should resell it.
  22. Those big jets are really beautiful, Breakdown. They really make me want to build more aircraft for my airports. - Two comments though: 1) Yes, your friend is right. 6 engines are too many. The two tail-mounted engines annoy my eyes as they do make the aircraft look strange. 2) I get the idea of making the pinstripes full-length, but the way it has been made make the aircraft look a bit strange with the vertical edge underneath the tail. If we for example talk about the jet with the red tailplane, would it be possible to move the white plate under the red tailbrick one stud forward and the blue plate another one and finally the grey belly brick one more? If possible it could give a more smooth tail design, I think. Fly on the wings of bricks!
  23. I can also only agree that this is a very beautiful layout, Feanor001. Even though you make use of several of the well-known modular buildings, you manage to add enough MOCs, landscaping and cityscaping that the entire layout has got its own personal feel to it. I especially like the supporting structures/buildings for the railway (including the interiors), they are very wellmade, just as the amusement park is.
  24. Great layout, I just have seen in its final version. A lot of nice buildings and good details. I especially like the nature area and the elegant street lamps along the main road (and no connection between the two things...).
  25. Today I was lucky to get hold of a Pizza to Go at a quite nice price. On the downside it has been stored in a smoker's home and some parts are missing, including the table and the parasol/sunshade and two minifigs, the female customer and the driver which was replace by a space man... Furthermore I also got 6593 Blaze Battler without the trailer, but with 6511 Rescue Runabout instead. Then a couple of old motorbikes and four road plates. - Everything in a dire need of beeing cleaned as it was dirty and smell of smoke
