  1. I think the classic space minifigures look fantastic and timeless, but the classic space ships look outdated. With newer parts and techniques there are more attractive designs possible, without abandoning the colors, style and atmosphere that are typical for classic space.
  2. The LEGO Movie 2 sets are scheduled to release on 26 december. I remember seeing sets on the shelves before the official release date. Do you think it could be possible to get them before christmas? The sets would be great presents!
  3. I wonder if there could be a storyline between a garage and a veterinarian. The most obvious one isn't pleasant... or it should be an animal transporter that has car troubles! What animals do you all expect? We've already seen cats and dogs in modular sets and the CMF veterinarian had a rabbit. They could be too repetitive for the designers who like to surprise. On the other hand a horse from a stranded trailer would have difficulties getting to the first floor. I don't expect an unrevealed new mould in a Creator set, but I would be glad to see the new bird mould in the set!
  4. I didn't expect LEGO to increase the part count of the modular building sets. I thought Assemly Square would be a jubily exception. I'm curious to see the result and the size of it. Probably it will cover more extra builds like vehicles this time, but it also means less limits for the designers in the future. Expensive hobby!
  5. I agree City sets and Modular Buildings have different target groups, but therefore I rather think there is little competition between those lines, making it possible to have the same theme at the same time. I'm curious if and how many children get modular buildings to play with. In a local toy store over here the modulars seem to sell pretty well. I always wonder if it's bought for the children or if there are many AFOLs around? I think the Town Hall looks very stylish and I'm very lucky I got one after I missed out on it. The style of that Manhattan police station pleases me too, but maybe we'll get to wait a bit longer for such a modular building. The diversity in the line is nice too. I'm pretty confident they'll do their best to deliver us something we would like to get!
  6. I would like to see a modular police station, now it feels like I'm missing one. It's great to have a governmental building in the modular line now and then. It has been a while since the Fire Brigade and the Town Hall. Existing police stations don't have to rule out a modular version. There is a retiring and an upcoming fire station in the City line and yet the Winter Village Fire Station has been released! I just think the part count limits the possibility for a police station. The Fire Brigade has sparse interior elements and Town Hall was build of more bricks. It would require a lot of bricks to build a substantial police station, including a lot of interior and... a police car!
  7. I hope for something like this style. It would be a completely different style than last year and it could be bright colored, which both can be expected for an official modular building. They could throw in a motor bike or a scooter next to one or two cars. I'm curious to see the vehicle builds and their size, as I think the Speed Champions are very detailled, but too bulky to fit in with the modular line. I prefer the City vehicles size, but those are very basic.
  8. I would not be surprised if it would be a garage, as it was mentioned a time ago too. We can start speculating! My first idea is a little old Italian garage with a small car like a Fiat 500.
  9. I have the impression they scaled the amount of story down in Assembly Square and Downtown Diner. I'm glad with that, as the cookie smuggling route and the money laundry used a lot of the limited number of bricks while it felt a bit out of place to me, more like an exagerated inside joke.
  10. The modular theme is broader than that. For instance the corner building in Assembly Square is inspired by an European building. There is plenty of possible inspirations, as the amazing and still growing amount of MOC modular buildings show. I can imagine a lot of styles and themes that haven't been handled yet in the official line, while it's proven they don't hesitate to use some that have been done before. Perhaps LEGO could do sets like Ninjago City for licensed themes, but I would absolutely not like to see the modular line turning into another licensed theme!
  11. If only they had included Benny with a helmet that wasn't broken and a torso that wasn't scratched in set 70841! In set 70834 he has gotten even more damaged, so I think it would have been nice to have him before his impairing adventures, offering us blue spacemen along with the yellow, white and pink ones!
  12. I've wanted such little birds for so long! I hope they'll be readily abailable on Bricks & Pieces!
  13. It's the only thing that comes close to a hint for the next modular. I consider a hotel very likely possible and this year there is a hotel pageboy minifigure torso available. On the other hand I don't expect to see another Streamline Modern modular, especially not so soon after Downtown Diner. I'd rather expect art nouveau or classicism architecture. I could imagine a corner modular building based on this hotel in Nice, with it's nice, colored dome.
  14. That picture was the inspiration too for my interior of the Cafe Corner! I want to thank Xon67 for all his work and sharing the pictures!
  15. My wild bet was a police station too, based on some very vague clues: another government building is welkome in the modular line, Detective's Office shares the police theme and seems to be discontinued soon and there was a post with the rumour the theme of the next modular exists frequently in LEGO history. It would be nice to have some official hints sooner, but I guess we will be sure within 2 weeks!
  16. Thank you very much for sharing! Your trees are really beautiful!
  17. It sounds like the modular line is heading a different direction than the old city center I always had in mind. But like you say, we'll have to wait. Anyway I'm interested in the cars that could come with the modular, as I'm unsure of the fitting sizes (4, 5 or 6 side) and styles of vehicles in my modular town.
  18. 10268 Vestas Wind Turbine will be vailable on the 23rd of November. I wonder if it will be popular at all given the pricing! I don't expect the next modular to be a rerelease of the Green Grocer. I assume the modular line is very popular and I'm sure Lego would please a lot more customers with a completely new modular! I'd prefer to see LEGO make specific parts available again, like the sand green 1x2 brick with groove, for those who don't own the Green Grocer yet and want to build their own.
  19. Over here Downtown Diner costs already €169,99. I wouldn't mind a more fluctuating part count and price for the modulars, so that the designers could variate a lot in style, size and decorational elements. I'm curious to see what we'll get, but I guess we'll have to wait a couple of months. Last year there weren't any leaks. I hope for another corner building as they are very useful to make multiple small blocks of modular buildings.
  20. Does anyone have an idea when this set will be revealed and released? I'm very curious to see the final version. The original build looks a bit bland to me, but I expect an official designer to pull off something amazing with this stimulating idea! I really hope other fairytale display settings will be included! That's just part of the premise!
  21. Perhaps you could move over some of the smaller creator houses to the other side of your town, next to the fairground sets? I like the waves you made!
  22. Those translucent tiles will make a great effect! I want to do the same and was thinking of rebuilding my Old Fishing Store on a extra layer of brick yellow tiles, so it could make a nice display of waves rolling on the beach. Having the beach a bit higher can indeed help you make the shoreline less straight / more organic. Downside of all the tiling is it will require a lot of parts! Will you place them on the same level of the Ninjago sets (the translucent tiles upon plates upon the baseplates)? I intend to place them directly on the baseplates to reduce costs, but I don't have the Ninjago sets and the extra layer of plates could provide a better impression of depth differences in the water. I think if you would add some paths and extra greenery and fences between the houses, the suburb would look fantastic!
  23. Nice pictures of your very charming city! If I had to put the Ninjago City sets into my town, I'd separate them from the rest with water, like a canal or even a small sea if I had a lot of space. The Ninjago City sets would form an isle surrounded by water at one end of my display that could be seen from the (busy) beach of my town and could be reached with a ferry. On the other and more calm end of the beach I would put the Old Fishing Store. I'm very curious to see your city evolving!
  24. Here are some pictures I've found that were taken in the LEGO House. It's a wonderful amusement park with a slightly modified official ferris wheel along with other creations like the "star flyer" that can be found on the background of the boxes of the fairground sets.
  25. I was hoping for another building from the Sea front Village, but I understand them saying it's too soon after the Old Fishing Store. Moreover they are perhaps too similiar like that one, which I consider the best of them all. The Pop-Up book is a nice idea. I'm looking forward how the finished version will look! As an extra, it could turn out as a very welcome parts pack for fans of the castle, pirates en western themes!
