Don't think it was 'sold out'. It ran from 24th-26th. Today (27th) didn't fall into run.

Can't get head nor tails from it, but it does look impressive.

What location/scene come to your mind when thinking about Pirates...
GeoBrick replied to zinnn's topic in LEGO Pirates
For something completely different, the Barbary pirates hailing from the Mediterranean ports of North Africa come to mind. Completely different ships (swift galleys), on which both Armada and Imperial ships are fitting opponents since the Pirate Era in this region lasted through the Renaissance -and pre-modern era's. -
The curve on the roof above the entrance, and the angle of the support beams in the side wall look just perfect.

I bet the jaws of some LEGO defigners will fall open once they see this technique. Mine sure did. Masonry and architecture nicely coalesce here

Looks like you got busy with recoloring the recent Forestman torso? AFAIK they only come in red&green.

Post your Pirate Crew: Pirate Figbarfs
GeoBrick replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in LEGO Pirates
Oh, a marvelous conquistadores expedition force. I'm quite jealous of your older minifig torso's, and the use of the more recent parts is nicely done. -
[MOC] Ice Planet - Nova Frost V11 (Vic Viper)
GeoBrick replied to the Inventor's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Neath little build. And with another color scheme and the usual screws it could double as an underwater speeder.- 10 replies

Well, she doesn'y wear a hennin, but the idea is there -

GeoBrick replied to BrickJagger's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
If we were to get a new female head dress, I'd prefer a completely new shape like a truncated hennin, or even one where the braids of a lady's hair are visible (though I know usually a hennin covered the scalp). -
LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
GeoBrick replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Something to look for in seller stalls in future LEGO expo's. Buying it through Amazon comes with a hefty import tax (roughly 2/5th of the price) in my country. -

I wouldn't mind. I deliberately didn't buy an extra torso of this type with the upcoming Medieval Village in mind. -

Yeah, well, the set was available in retail before I came out of my Dark Ages so to speak. I payed about double the retail price when I finally bit the bullet and bought it. -

Shame on you! -
... only initially. The later times this particular GWP was on offer the threshold went up.

Definitely agree! And there's still (at least) two coming with the Majisto GWP and the Medieval Village/Market! And if one is into that, there's still the Bricklink Designer Program and associated pop-up store. Plenty to keep the historical-minded AFOL busy for the next year or so.

Galaxy Explorer (10497) - How well did it sell?
GeoBrick replied to AmperZand's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I don't know. With buying a number of the rare parts in the set through PAB (landing pads and engine elements mostly), I could build the second alternate model with bricks I already had at home. My one mistake was to buy the 2x4 CS logo tile at a Bricklink reseller at a semi-ludicrous price. If I had waited a couple extra months I could have gotten this tile through PAB three times as cheap. But at least I stocked up on the sets' printed elements through PAB when the opportunity arose.- 53 replies

I acquired both GWP's through the online LEGO store when they came out, and the treshold was I believe €230.

Definitely room for improvement on the interior around the fireplace. And for a minute I thought we would get a new reversed brick slope, but its unfortunately an error on the picture. Its going to be a small sticker sheet with just three stickers.

[MOC] Winter in the Raven's Wharf - Medieval City
GeoBrick replied to Kozikyo86's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Thomas More Institute, in the city of Geel, Belgium. It was on the annual Bricks&More event. The builder (Wout Brijs) put it in as part of his display, but in Black Falcon heraldry. Here's a link to the builders display, but unfortunately there's no image of the ship in it. -

It looks marvelous as a real build too. I was lucky to see it in a LEGO expo I visited this weekend. -
And here I thought the bow was the spot for the saw shop.
