I can only hope "their own take" on a castle would involve another fiefdom like the black knights. The minifigs there were kinda unique in that they didn't use a clear sigil on their torso's, making them usable for other factions if you discarded the shields. And the color scheme of their castle back in the day was just so good.

Incidentally, it is a nice-looking scene...

Now that's a nice idea.

Alternative minifigures...

Maybe, in the end, the participators of the survey are to blame. Maybe they were too niggard on the value of the prelim... -

Thanks for the link. Haven't read the whole article yet, but sofar only disagree with part of their sticker remark: I feel the window shutters could have warranted a printed tile. For the rest, no complains. -
I'm torn between the classic printed plate, and the latest design (Eldorado Fortress beach).

For a double Insiders weekend? Doubtful. These days I have the impression you have to be happy with the double points alone. Happy to have bit the bullet too, and ordered a large set last Sunday, with the gift included.

And in which other set exactly would this new door mould be? Is this particular set already out? -

Oh, that happens all the time in these parts (the forum). Nothing new there. Really, the only sensible approach is to wait for close to the purported release date, and then form an opinion on what you see. Then its time to "vote with your wallet", or bite the pill, purchase the set, and change/add (to) it what you want. -

Love that coastal rocks façade, the pillars of the temple, the roof, and the ornamentation above the entrance. Maybe my only nagging would be the lack of a temple priest(ess). -

There is unique stuff in this set. The 'Queen's Shield' and the new door-with-lattice-window come to mind. -

And I'll have the LKC, MF, and MTS for the former two to squabble over in 6 months. -
Nice coloring of the scene. I like how it brings home its night.

A beautiful and rustic scene. The water effect is great, the bridge's lines flow nicely over the stream. Some nice rockwork around the fall, and to top it the house merges right in. I never could have up with how you created the scene.

Classic vs. modern (set 6055 vs. 10305)

Maybe dark red legs and sand green 'shorts'? (the part where the legs are attached to) -
Appearantly because the BDP production slot is limited.

I'm afraid in the end you'd pay more for packaging and transport then. You'd be better off downloading the plans and ordering on PAB and/or using parts from your existing collection. -

I'll grant you that. Luckily, over the years I purchased enough animals through PAB and BrickLink to populate any kind of market square you can imagine. -
't Was hit&miss with the browser window(s), but eventually I could order&pay for it. Then, when I shopped for a second set of this series the fortress was in my bucket again! Took the order anyway, and once I got confirmation mails for both orders, annuled the first one to give someone else a chance.

A funny tidbit: what was used as a (high) stool in the MMV, is a night stand in this set. Look in the town guard's bedroom. -

My rough estimate would be another 50 €. Definitely a set to purchase early. At least half the torso's are new, a good line of trades on display, and compatibility with both the LKC and the old MMV. From what I see sofar I like the stable-like structure with the rounded window in the roof, the Red Inn-like house, and the ground floor of the right-most house the most. So, we 'upgraded' from a medieval market village to a town square in the span of 15 years. Hopefully we won't have to wait that long for a medieval city set.
