For my part at least, its very much the composition, which makes the castle quite interesting to look at and positively 'busy', and the fact that is had this smooth look, which is at the same time nicely retro classic-castle and at the same time historically more correct than crumbly bare stone walls. So there you go!

Very good! The trebuchet looks absolutely amazing and the castle, despite its simplicity, looks actually nicely clean and just right. All in all a lovely, very dynamic display!

Oh very good! These look better than a lot of the official ones.

Now that's quite some characters! I really like them. Each seems to tell their own story by just looking at them

Hello and welcome to Eurobricks!

Nice landscaping, and that gun-turret could hardly look any more authentic star wars.

Looks very fun and happy, well apart from that Blacktron fighter attacking! Nicely build; I like the antenna mast and the fact that it has some sort of "monorail". That ticks the right 80s-lego-space boxes. I would try hiding the mount for the blacktron ship and the laser blasts though (and switching them with green pieces instead).

Ah right! Forgot totally that one! I get the impression that a lot of the pirate-related sets recently are released for a good part due to AFOL-nostalgia.

Hilarious premise and execution! Its really a charming little build.

The last proper pirate theme was quite half-heartedly executed and too <insert that tiresome argument>, while the Pirates of the Caribbean IP seems to die a quiet death... so from that perspective it does not look great for a pirate theme in the near future. It seems trends go into different directions. Then again, Ninjago keeps coming back to piratey themes and there is a quite neat pirate roller coaster and tree-house, which keep the pirates at least coming in through the back door.

Looks already nicely creepy! Good job with the green highlights. They really help it coming alive.

Birth of a new Lego city [UPDATE #24 Overpass completed! ]
Littleworlds replied to HereWeGoAgain's topic in LEGO Town
A bustling and charming little city. I really like the good natured fun details everywhere, oh and for some reason that typical "no-mans-land" patch of land next to the train tracks, that always seems to be cluttered with random things. -
LEGO IDEAS - Dinosaurs Fossils Skeletons
Littleworlds replied to Troglodyte's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Hmm, I see this line of argumentation. Of course, minifig proportions are different to real humans, which distorts attempts to establish a scale a bit. But ok, its Lego and not an exact scientific reproduction!- 47 replies

LEGO IDEAS - Dinosaurs Fossils Skeletons
Littleworlds replied to Troglodyte's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The T-rex, for example looks like 15 meters long. Its bigger than the Jurassic Park rex. Just look at that skull: Its longer than a whole minifig. if it would be a tad smaller, it would be perfectly in scale. The shaping is really well done, alas the price for that is to get a bit too big.- 47 replies

Hello Andi, welcome to Eurobricks. It seems we are about the same age. I envy you for your short dark ages too. Maybe you can share some pictures of your collection. See you around!

LEGO IDEAS - Dinosaurs Fossils Skeletons
Littleworlds replied to Troglodyte's topic in Special LEGO Themes
My impression is quite mixed. One the one hand, some aspects are really nicely modelled, especially the heads and I don't mind the white, after all its sort of the default Lego bone-colour (yes, fossils are not bones, but lets keep things simple^^). On the other hand, the models are too big for minifig scale, which is really a shame, especially considering there is actually one included. But I guess it allows for more detailing. The selection of Dinosaurs however is a bit bland. I would have stayed more in line with the original proposal. Of course there had to be a T-rex, so I'm not going to complain about that; its just that once the scale of the builds and the size of the set has been determined, it didn't leave much wiggle room for more diversity, since of course you pair a T-rex with a Triceratops, if you can only have them two. Including the Pteranodon is nice though! All in all though, as long it makes kids love dinosaurs and science - all is forgiven!- 47 replies

Very nice! With its broken-up design it looks really like something made in (and for) zero gravity. Lovely greebling, excellent ideas for creating textures!

LEGO IDEAS - Dinosaurs Fossils Skeletons
Littleworlds replied to Troglodyte's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I almost forgot about this project already. I originally planned it as a display piece in front of a science institute, but this T-rex seems to be quite large for my purposes. Very nicely done though!- 47 replies

Very nice brickworks! I like the combination of different shades to give the tower structure. The landscaping looks pretty good too. Really good job!
-
Looks good! With its light and open construction it has quite an elvish feel to it. Also nice use of decorative elements!
-
You are very welcome! A desk light near the camera could already help a lot. If its too shiny, turn it so it faces away from the set and bounce the light back on a sheet of paper or cardboard.
