I already have some great ideas for this and minifig customization (purist). Even with just 1 set, you could easily have 3 minifigs in the Transgender Flag colors with a combination of the hair/torso/legs. Or make figures styled with colors of country flags or sports team etc if it has 3-4 different color at most.

Great to see there are also actually a lot of 1x2 bricks in the build, and not just 2x3 stacks. Great parts pack for sure

And it does very well I was speaking for my own builds (once I get the actual 3-in-1 Castle set) , I'm not suggesting you to scale things down.

Ninjago getting more popular?
TeriXeri replied to Doom2099's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I certainly think there's a link between the last couple of action themes, as Nexo retired, Hidden Side appeared, and Hidden Side retired super fast suddenly when Monkie Kid appeared. Also with the overlap of vehicles/build styles (and Chima to a lesser extent to the earlier ninjago years) Currently Monkie Kid seems to draw a lot of similar shapes/concepts from both Nexo and Ninjago in it's designs, and some Chima inspirations mainly with the Spider Queen and monkeys. Ninjago going Legacy does seem a way to keep the theme going however, and gives new and old fans to relive some older sets, I don't think LEGO would do that if it weren't meant to stay longer, now LEGO always has some sets from previous seasons to go by. With Monkie Kid currently however, I do think Ninjago has to go more specialized themes on their main seasons to be a bit different from just more Mechs and big wheelers, and going things like island/catamarans and now submarines instead. Monkie Kid isn't just yet another action/vehicle theme, it's also Asian/Chinese influenced, so thematically there's more overlap in some aspects. LEGO is also doing a big marketing push into China, with Chinese New years sets, and opening lots of stores there, so if Monkie Kid happened to have priority over Hidden Side (Which again retired super fast after the last wave), that wouldn't surprise me. Legacy still allows ninjago to remake older vehicles without needing an entire similar wave, I don't think Ninjago would do a wave like 2011 or 2012 again which had a lot of Skeleton and Snake vehicles, but will do the ocassional remake instead. -
That's my main goal with it as well, putting those hairpieces on regular figs, which keeps the initial main build still intact. Maybe later on use the heads, bricks and tiles for builds as well. And there are some funky torso/leg color combinations, I wont go as far as swapping arms/hands.

While licensed Duplo isn't exactly a new 2021 thing(Cars/Princess/Mickey/DC/Marvel) , surprisingly there isn't something like a Duplo Ninjago set, but there is Batman vs Joker or Ironman/Spiderman/Capt.America. On the other hand, it's understandable LEGO seems to try to have Duplo sets move into 4+ theme for a while now, especially with Disney Princess and now the upcoming Mickey 4+ theme. Not a complaint here, as those sets aren't my target group or interest, just an observation, Duplo also still has their own inhouse themes, like Farm (2021) Houses & Construction (2020), Zoo (2019) etc going back a long time. But the days of for example Duplo Pirates/Castle are long gone at this point, so a lot for those themes nowadays seem to rely on AFOL and nostalgia instead of targeting younger new LEGO fans. (the recent 3-in-1 sets are target age 9+, and IDEAS even 16+ and 18+ for Barracuda/Blacksmith, (sure they are age suggestions, but they don't put it on the box for no reason) I'm not suggesting 4+ Castle/Pirates sets however, I even think there are too many 4+ sets (mainly for City, there are 4 in 1 year in since 2019) nowadays, some of those 5+ sets seem very simple already, especially the instructions is almost like 1 piece per page for smaller sets.

LEGO Ninjago 2021
TeriXeri replied to Driver Brandon Grumman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Maybe LEGO wants to not oversaturate the market with vehicles, Chima, Nexo, Hidden Side and now Monkie Kid likely played a role in the distribution of vehicles. 2011 and 2012 had multiple large Skeleton and Snake vehicles and that was before Chima appeared. I can see some overlap in set design for sure, where currently Monkie Kid seems to take continue some styles from those other themes in various ways Even within the same year, 2021 , the Red Son Inferno Jet basicly has the same set type as the Boulder Blaster (perhaps closer to the original 2015 size & design however) And then Monkie Kid also uses Ninjago-like Mechs and Motorbikes, and some Nexo-inspired big wheelers and Jets. The Spider Queen Base Monkie Kid set is a big villain set this year, very much feels like a blend of Nexo, Chima and Nindroids in design. Wouldn't surprise me if Hidden Side was retired earlier in favor of pushing Legacy and Monkie Kid further, the Hidden Side Castle wave was one of the shortest lived ever, even shorter then 2018 Nexo. While the influence of Licensed themes is just speculation, especially Marvel has been launching a lot of Vehicles, Mechs and Motorbikes in recent times (and even Duplo has spiderman/ironman/batman(DC) now, and not Ninjago) Maybe that's part of the reason that Ninjago went on the very different side of themes , starting with the Video Game wave (before Monkie Kid launched), into something mostly non-vehicle (Season 13), and now Islanders + Underwater sets. I don't follow the exact story/episodes, I just roughly compare sets from various years. -
Certainly nice build at a larger scale then the 3-in-1 castle but I can see the style for sure, same with that Guarded Inn XL. I will probably scale down my IDEAS Blacksmith instead of scaling up when I do get the 3-in-1 Castle , as in general my builds are smaller overall (Creator 3in1 / City scale instead of Modulars) . But of course I love seeing larger builds with details like this, like the brickwork is excellent here.

Is the yellow figure the first time they made an unprinted yellow torso/leg combination in 1 set/figure? Brickset/Bricklink list 6872: Xenon X-Craft (Classic Space 1985) had one, yet the image of the set itself has printed space logo.

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
TeriXeri replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I know City has a Car Transporter exactly this year as well, but has anyone tried to modify this 3-in-1 set into something more Minifig compatible, while keeping the look of the builds. I've often overlooked microscale but I see so much potential (and people on Rebrickable usually make tons of alternates for them) https://brickset.com/sets/31113-1/Race-Car-Transporter -
Looks like an improvement on what LEGO tried with 3-in-1 Houses a few years ago (2017-2018 + set 40305: LEGO Brand Store) , I enjoyed the system myself but there was a lot of negativity about it as well (not hinged/no closed back/fragile walls falling out, and a lot was justified when compared to other 3-in-1 sets before that) For a Castle setting I think it looks great, apart from maybe the rocky bits if they are higher then ground level, also helps that all the Castle parts are a similar style, or rather 3 distinct styles with the grey/tan/green Of course I won't compare this 100% to Creator/Houses line, but to me, this shows the concept can certainly work if there are enough similar modules for it.

LEGO Ninjago 2021
TeriXeri replied to Driver Brandon Grumman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I agree most of Hero vs Villain themes are a bit too one sided in terms of vehicles , but I guess that's what happens if there's a team of ninjas/knights(nexo). But that's why I especially loved S13 sets, the mech was pretty much optional from the rest, didn't have a huge part of the board game either, the 3 other sets were pretty much villain location or a big dragon + more terrain, or a Rhino Beast. And while generic non-licensed action theme sets do still exist within IDEAS or Creator 3-in-1 lately, most sets nowadays have some named team attached to it. Nexo Knights, Hidden Side, and now Monkie Kid being the most recent follow a similar path. As for the future of Ninjago , I'd love to see more Legacy versions of location sets like Garmadon Fortress, Enter the Serpent, Battle for Ninjago City , Lighthouse Siege or City of Stix with focus on the Locations. -

Some Polybags 30412: Park Picnic 30366: Police Car 30369: Beach Buggy

Oh yeah that's a great set , colored tiles, hairpieces, and monochrome figs, and of course the other meaning/representation of the colors.
-
It's not a Series, it's a single set with 11 monochrome figs and some colorful bricks and apparently hairpieces (dont know if the hairpieces are bright colored as well but that'd be even better to get some nice parts).

[REVIEW] 76386 Hogwarts: Polyjuice Potion Mistake
TeriXeri replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Great set format and review. While I'm not interested in this particular set or theme myself , I could imagine how cool it could be if it were with like a room like this with grey walls with 1-3 generic knights instead, same goes for the Flying Lesson set, expandable smaller sets to expand a Castle with. At least I'd prefer that over one of those minifig blister packs. -
Ninjago getting more popular?
TeriXeri replied to Doom2099's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I think Ninjago going into more extreme themes might be more popular as a niche, but hard to tell overall. I liked Season 13 a lot due to being so Fantasy focused instead of Tech (the mech set was also seperate, and the only "vehicle" beside dragons). I also liked the Legacy Temple as it came with full team of legacy ninjas+wu, as a standalone set. Legacy also helps newer people to catch up or return to the theme. Of course the 3 large City/Docks/Gardens set seem popular here, but they are huge sets and budget wise certainly AFOL targeted, but I think a lot of people that collect modulars, also collect those large Ninjago sets, and other large area sets for example the Ghost Buster HQ, Spring Lantern Festival and the upcoming Marvel Skyscraper for a layout. -
which sites have information about the details of every set?
TeriXeri replied to ks6349's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Rebrickable.com has a visual overview of parts in a set as well, and you can compare it to the rest of the collection, it's not as simple to use with a large collection however (but it has options to filter out built sets or loose parts), but can synchronize with Brickset. -
Looks great, even the minidolls are somewhat different from the usual. 6+ studs depth is nice, so it's more then just a Facade but more akin to a dollhouse (or can serve as a palace/estate as well beside the Hotel use)

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
TeriXeri replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
If that monstertruck set has 2 proper useable 4 wide cars it might be nice depending on final product / price. LEGO cars keep getting more varied, even while the wheels already changed a lot since 2014 which is a good thing. Many 6 wide cars are nearing details of the older Speed Champions. Of course there are still "different" looking cars like this , but it seems highly inspired by the VW Bulli electric prototype : (and the LEGO version can fit 2 people) -

Especially after seeing the Review (Brickset) 3-in-1 Castle just remains the best set of 2021 for me , last year I was hyped about the Pirate Ship, initially wanted to get 3, but then I saw the size comparison with the Barracuda (which I got later) and don't regret getting that one (in Ship Mode especially). However, this set, for sure is a big multi-build for me (with parts from itself and other sets/themes of recent times, 3in1 had a fair amount of yellow/brown/darkblue in recent sets, I don't mind the colorful appearance, after all Nexo Knights was colorful and got me back into LEGO. I loved the IDEAS Blacksmith for sure, but I can already see use for the parts to extend this to some form of smaller Guarded Inn/Stable type build instead, Blacksmith just has some nice generic color parts that will go well with MOCs like this, and Blue/Darkblue just goes well with Nexo/Falcons etc. Will probably turn some combination of Lava Monsters / Ninjago Season 13 into a villain base at some point (Skull Dungeon + Jestro's Lair). And then there's the crowdfunding for Castle in the Forest soon enough, this year so far looks like a good Castle year and hopefully more to come from IDEAS / Creator and more.
