  1. How many BrickLink Designer sets will be produced? This program will realize up to the first 15 projects that are successfully crowdfunded by the fans. Each designer set is a limited edition, and the quantity produced will be up to 5,000. https://www.bricklink.com/r3/designer-program/support/main.page
  2. Construction sets are certainly welcome, I personally don't like the 4+ versions however. Would love a dump truck in a small set or as standalone "Great Vehicle", the 2018 Mining theme only had 1 and that came with the big set. (I didn't start collecting City until late 2018 after I came back to LEGO in 2016, so don't have earlier sets). I'd like to see LEGO try something with a brick-built design instead of 1 piece or technic panels. This looks nice and isn't 4+ (2012) & (2015) Or something like this in modern pieces without technic panels
  3. I think the color scheme is fine, I'm mainly saying more locations, 2017 and 2008 had a headquarters/platform. Road Plates might work for a decent Platform base. 2017, 2013, 2008 all came with civilian boats to rescue, but only 2011 had an actual marina.
  4. Coast Guard can be more then just the orange/white vehicles, if they do it, I hope they Tie it in with a Marina or something, if they need boats to rescue. 8x16 Road plates in brown could make a decent wooden pier, or just blue for water, or a raised Quay in either light or darkgrey.
  5. I know there won't be new parts/prints, but colors still matter.
  6. I believe the Castle was mainly inspired by Forestmen set 6077, which wasn't exactly a clean looking Castle either, would love to see what prints/minifigs can be included. Of course the price/shipping can matter a lot as well, the first round of AFOL program only shipped from USA, which made that Lowenstein set too expensive imo due to import taxes to EU.
  7. Would love to see a dockside style set with road plates as access point / parking space, and then some extra studded area for cargo storage or a food shack depending if it's a Marina or Cargo/Security harbour.
  8. Certainly looking forward for Castle in the Forest this round. Spacing out is nice as well as some of those are big sets.
  9. Might not be the biggest set nowadays, but back then this always impressed me. I always loved this faction, and my favorite shield emblem by far. I had 3 other Royal Knights sets but not the big Castle or Carriage. Overall it was a great year back in 1995, a great selection of 5 sets, 3 Castles (small/medium/large) a 2 horse Carriage with 3 soldiers + King, and King+horse by himself. + Chrome parts. 9 figures, 3 horses, ghost, skeleton, and extra shields/weapons on the walls, and while a lot of the mass is on a raised baseplate, its not as juniors as the year 2000 designs.
  10. Yeah Harry Potter scale sounds about right how a series of sets could be these days.
  11. I just built the Blacksmith, but I'm already thinking of taking it apart as soon to turn it in to something like a smaller Guarded Inn type build alongside the new Creator Castle (and parts from other Creator 3-in-1 sets as in the last 5 year or so there have been a lot of darkblue slopes in sets in different sizes) As for a "series" of sets, if it ever happens , I think the Blacksmith is a bit large for a whole series , but it's still a great parts palette. Having more medium sized sets could mean more figures of different factions, and more weapons/armor/horses etc. Now , of course there are people who love large scale and large builds, but I personally prefer building at Town/City/3-in-1/Friends scale instead of Modular/Expert scale.
  12. City Road plates are here to stay, LEGO even said it took them multiple years to develop them. How long they'll stay? Noone knows, but I would assume at least more then just 1 product cycle which is about 1.5-3 years depending on City set. They are actually in the summer sets, just not in grey. Winter 2021 were very City/Town focused, and LEGO pretty much went all-in on the road plate sets, and there's still a Stunt-Bike wave of sets that might come later this year. Also LEGO tends to release a bigger set later in a year as well, like the Capital City in 2018, Ski Resort in 2019, or Main Square in 2020. The benefit of road plates vs baseplates are that they can be in smaller sets as well, even if it's just 1 8x16 section for a cheaper set, it can add up over time, and as they release more colors, they become more then just roads.
  13. I don't think comments like "oh look a negative comment , why are you here?" helps any forum discussion at all, no matter who it's from. I see this "If you don't like it, don't buy it" everywhere these days as well, it doesn't add anything constructive from either side.
  14. D2C usually means LEGO exclusive, or limited retail availability, it just happens often to be large sets labeled 16+ or 18+, not per se AFOL-only. But I guess the distinction between D2C and something like a small LEGO-exclusive set (like an Xtra polybag) is fair.
  15. As far as I know, both Canada&US use the V39 version of boxes/instructions , (with differences like parts count on the front of the box and some other safety warnings) , and also probably a higher amount of sets that come from the Mexico Factory instead of Europe/Asia. I remember seeing some pictures of imported sets to NA from Europe during C19 and those had extra stickers on the box for parts counts, but I think that only happened because the Mexico Factory was closed and caused big delays.
  16. I agree here too, I prefer minifig sets by far, I just listed those 2 Bunny/Bear sets as right now they are the only seasonal 2021 sets that aren't Gift With Purchase / Brickheadz.
  17. I'll agree here, I prefer minifigs for sure, and there are certainly downsides to minidolls, like incompatibility with torso/leg swaps, no rotating hands, longer legs (so they cant sit in a 2x2 "minifig" vehicle) etc. But I'll still take the option of minidoll sets over no sets (and minidoll sets are still infinitely better then the Belville/Scala scale times. Minidoll sets/themes might be the less reviewed sets, but if there weren't a customer base, LEGO wouldn't make them for nearly 10 years already (next year is 10 year of Friends theme).
  18. Once I got my first minidoll set , I got a lot less negative perspective on them, and for a theme like Disney Princess (Frozen is part of that), it 100% makes sense to have minidolls. What I'm more disliking is the different style in more then just dolls, like how Friends gets so many horses compared to minifig sets. Many people might be nostalgic about the Paradisa days, and I agree those sets show what Friends might've been with minifigs, however I'd still have to say that the current way of minidolls is still way better then having weird products like Belville/Scala. On the positive side , Friends basicly brought a whole City theme that can co-exist with City, and even has it's own Subthemes. As for Disney, while I don't have particular interest in most of those 4+ builds, the higher age builds are pretty good, the set prices however often aren't great.
  19. Aquarium and Crocodile are Coming Soon (June 1st) on the European site.
  20. I agree here, I'm not disliking the animals but I don't see the big price to volume to stuff beyond those in the actual builds. I'll probably just pick up the €10 set unless there will be some massive discounts. I picked up the City Ocean Lab last year, as I think it was a nice overall set + vehicle + animals/figure combination, but didn't see the value in the ship, even with the exclusive animal. But for most City sets €10 - €30 is usually my favorite price point.
  21. Most sets have a V39 (North America) and V29 (International) version, due to different rules on packaging , most LEGO sets have the parts count on the front of the box on the NA version for example, while it does not in Europe.
  22. Yeah, I just meant their "green plant parts not from oil" in recent times.
  23. While I can't say if it's chemically different, I definately have some more recent parts of those small pine trees, that use a different texture, so it must be that Sugarcane ABS they are using more and more.
  24. I don't mind some throwbacks to older themes, however LEGO often does it via limited availability things like CMF / Build-a-Minifigure, or Gift With Purchase, which I don't like, or some torso in a completely unrelated theme. Barracuda Bay was one of those exceptions where nostalgia helped the product imo (unless people liked the original vote much more of course), and having Black Falcon figures into the Blacksmith or upcoming 3-in-1 Castle isn't bad either, but I'd like some smaller Castle or Pirate type sets to compliment it. Benny's Space Squad was a fantastic set too imo, but in contrast there's the orange spacemen figure which only comes with a book.
  25. Overall, not a whole lot of other winter related minifig sets around. Not including licensed here (examples would be Frozen or Hogsmeade) At least compared to some other years which had City Ski Resort / Snow Groomer / Ambulance Helicopter , a 3-in-1 Ski Hut, or a Friends Snow Resort Subtheme.
