  1. 2021 DOTS, especially the Lots of DOTS set really drew me in and I just ordered a bunch of different sets. I already had a bunch of Extra DOTS 1 and 2, but it lacked squares. This part also seems pretty interesting, but for now I ordered the 2020 Jewel box instead before it retires because it will fit well with the extra dots series 1 colors. 41938: Creative Designer Box might be the most expensive of the bunch but I still think it has a place , especially after some early 2020 sets retired, and the printed letter tiles are nice. Theme still has a lot of potential in it : A greyscale DOTS pack might be nice for terrain/historic builders. Multiple colors like dark red, dark blue, dark brown have not been used yet, and colors like orange-ish yellow and reddish brown still can be used a lot more as well. Not to mention cheese slopes, transparent parts(neon tiles would be lovely), 1x1 bow plates used in other sets, and more quarter circle tiles in different radii(radiuses), Ingots, gold/silver coated parts, 2x2 triangles and much more.
  2. Certainly a great take on Classic Space, maybe a bit too modern and rounded for my taste but still supported , because as a ground base set it's very complete and detailed
  3. As a non-technic collector view point , set should've been dark red or something, but on the other hand I understand reusing the same colors for various reasons, MOCs / production etc.
  4. It's almost a month now, and the Castle and Aquarium are still LEGO exclusive here
  5. It's June 30 now, and 31120 3-in-1 Castle is still LEGO exclusive here.
  6. The main "new" one of Year 1 would be Olivia's House. Some other sets from the first couple years actually re-released fairly recently in some form, large ones being the School , Hotel , Pool , Beach House, Shopping Mall, and multiple horse sets, even up to the Vet subtheme from 2015. Wouldn't surprise me if 2022 brought the Pop Star theme back, or at least 1 of the sets like the Bus or Pop Star House. Even better would be if LEGO would introduce a new in-house minidoll theme, at this point it's been a while since Elves ended.
  7. About half the sets did retire late last year, but the Shuttle / Rocket Assembly / Deep Space Rocket sets probably sold well enough to keep them in production for now. 2 of the large space sets are on End-of-life list for 2021, Rocket Assembly possibly as soon as July 31st. 8. I still see those Vidyo Stage sets as parts packs and this set still has some interesting newer 2020/2021 parts in multiples. Volume wise they aren't really full price sets for me, but the printed tiles, higher then average printed figures and rarer colors still make the theme appealing on discount. If the theme will continue, I'd rather have them only do stage sets, and not the random CMF or expensive Beat Box format, because I don't think the sets or figs are THAT bad.
  9. Agree here, it's a shame LEGO is relegating Castle/Pirates/Space toward some one-off IDEAS (which I doubt we'll see many more of) or the rare 3-in-1, and then would do a full indy line at the expense of Adventurers. If there's one movie with a set, fine, but I'd vastly prefer Adventurers over a full line of yet another movies-bound theme/reboot.
  10. My favorite part is the female robot, which could be a minifig stand-in for the reporter from the Nexo Knight show, which never got a physical figure.
  11. Depending on the price/size/pieces I'm most looking forward for the Home Alone house, but mainly because it might be the first "Creator House" with large sloped roof in a long long time.
  12. It's basicly how firmly brick/plate's stud connects to an anti-stud, which could be as simple as another brick, or minifigure's feet. If an older or damaged minifigure for example has no clutch power, it would just fall over on a studded surface.
  13. Hidden Side would've had so much background for a subway, instead, it ended up more like a Facade to be used with the app, still the idea of an older flat-ended subway train might work well in LEGO. I don't know if the 4 wide rail is still in production, but a 4 wide subway (6 wide train) set could still be interesting, not all subway trains are 100% underground either.
  14. Honestly, I'm not that bothered about minidolls themselves, just how it seperates the style of animals and horses and such, and that heads/torso/legs cannot be interchanged between figs and dolls (hairpieces / accessories mostly can tho) Now, Friends and minidolls are approaching it's 10th anniversary (11th year) in 2022, and while Elves, Superhero Girls and LEGO Movie 2 , came and went, LEGO is going pretty big with it's Disney Dolls as well, even it's first large scale set with the Frozen large Ice Castle. Right now, with Creator 3-in-1 cutting back on houses a bit it seems, Friends seems to be the go-to theme for houses/shops, and while City also recently re-started their range of shops/house with roadplates, often come with a lot of extra things like vehicles. The main thing that bothers me about City/Friends buildings compared to Creator 3-in-1 however is it relies on large panels for walls, often with a sticker for detail, which seems not that re-useable in MOC compared to brick-walls seen in 3-in-1 with brick details. On the other hand most Friends buildings don't come with vehicles either (compared to City), and generally have a good price, and recent sets are way more then just a Facade, and mostly have walls that go all the way to the back. The recent 41693: Surfer Beachfront even has removable floors and can split via technic pins between the 2 buildings, so it took a bit of the recent 3-in-1 mini modular approach, which is promising.
  15. I wonder if 2022 will be a special year because it will be the 10th anniversary of Friends/Minidolls (11th year). The main thing that might be expected to have a re-release would probably be Olivia's House.
  16. Well, looks like some type of Football(soccer) set is is coming to LEGO at some point (next year?), but not exactly the City way : https://ideas.lego.com/challenges/5c659186-fb0b-46ab-8f9f-e619ccd8bd28/application/9edf7a54-c4c7-4752-9dbd-62663b0c1c8b
  17. I think a small 1 mast ship the size of the boat in Imperial Trading post should be easily doable in a 3-in-1 set, the ship in that set had a trading logo, and brick built sails for a smaller ship shouldn't be that difficult, while the white/black parts can be used in other builds . (brick built) Sails of the boat could be Tan or Light Grey or something to be easier reused into a beach or building. A 3-in-1 Trading post type set might be an interesting concept, could be build wide, or tall, or have a boat , and something with ropes to have a crane. Maybe something like a combination of 79013: Lake-town Chase , or 7029: Skeleton Ship Attack but more Pirates style, so a bit more colorful with white/yellow/darkred, and more dock area. Obviously a similar thing was done with 31109 Pirate Ship but that main build did focus on the boat , but it does serve as a starting point to building a Pirate/Seaside town, and doesn't have any fortifications. Another 3-in-1 concept would be more Islander style, with a lot more grey, red and green to have something like a rocky jungle set in various layouts, maybe with a islander-esque statue in 1 build, and more rocky/cave/skull in another, also wouldn't need to be the biggest size of set if it doesn't have a dedicated boat build, maybe a small canoe from bricks, maybe some small traps and hinged parts to hide things. 70604: Tiger Widow Island and 6264: Forbidden Cove are almost the same concept and colors and gives a decent idea how a modern rocky/palmtree island could look, altho creator would probably be a bit rougher with less specialized plant parts. And yet another smaller set could be a tower like Sabre island , either 1 large tower, or some wider lower build, with water around it, perhaps a small rowboat in one of the builds, and a cannon. This is the idea for mid-sized sets , imagine if this had mostly piratey colors and parts, main build could be hinged, second build tall + boat, 3rd build could be a wider build, now imagine a small shark or monkey as animal build. Figures/Parts/Colors could use an overall a more generic approach instead of trying to strictly replicate old factions
  18. Castle in the Forest crowdfunding starts soon , and now has 6 figures (3 forestmen , 1 peasant, 2 Falcons) , and a Horse + Owl. Forestmen shields are stickers but I'm 100% fine with that in this case. https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/designer-sets-for-adult-fans-of-lego/215665/Castle-in-the-Forest
  19. True, the white parts of an Armada Ship could be reused into some structure in some way. Overall Black/White/Blue/Green should be a good color scheme to work with for a 3-in-1, as green and blue can be reused for land/sea sections.
  20. The main thing I notice is the larger, more pronounced or double exhaust, which is clearly a design choice, however the rest of the design could still be for technical reasons.
  21. Agree, I was maybe a bit too nostalgic on my previous post as well (Perhaps due to Barracuda Bay being pretty much the opposite of what 3-in-1 theme tries to be) I think the 3-in-1 Ship/Skull-Island/Tavern set tactic of having 3 very different sets would work well for Pirates, but that also depends on the size of the set. For a smaller set something like a fort or 2-3 different smaller boats probably works well, larger sets have more parts to work with to do more diverse alternate builds. I don't expect another large Pirate-Crew set until barracuda bay retires, but after that, it might open up a 3-in-1 version of a shipwreck island outpost + ship build. I'd love to see a set with larger amount of palm leaves as well.
  22. Anything Soldiers/Imperial/Armada land-based fortress/harbour would be welcome. I don't think Islander are that likely in Creator, and Ninjago Season 14 still being sold. I just don't expect many new or returning old moulds in 3-in-1 theme figures like King Kahuka mask. I think an 18+ AFOL islanders island set combining elements of multiple sets , might work better with bigger budget to bring back proper nostalgia design like the Barracuda Bay, that also could get new printed flags and such. But back to Creator, if it's a large set, a 3-in-1 Eldorado Fortress / Imperial Trading Post and a 3rd build being a hybrid of Sabre Island/Imperial Outpost/Cannon Cove etc, not sure how Creator would cover specific imperial/soldier faction but maybe have brick built flags and some more generic figures instead of strict red and blue ones, so that the figures can double as both more pirates, or soldiers. Maybe I'm thinking too simple here, I'm not sure what's more popular overall, 3 very different builds, or 3 builds that can form 1 larger one. The Pirate ship did pull off the builds well, but it did require a lot of building tricks of using and hiding certain colors, while a more cohesive set like the medieval castle allows easier entry into expanding MOCing with less color tricks and more basic parts that dont need to be hidden. For example the Tournament of Elements set had a teal admiral-ish torso , teal might be too bright, but the print doesn't strictly signal Soldier or Imperial. The Pirate Rollercoaster set ticket booth area reminded me of Lagoon Lock-Up , and has the same style. .
  23. The stage sets figs and sets don't seem bad to me, just a bit expensive in terms of volume. I'm not a fan of Blind bags , or the beat boxes, if there were Vidyo themed "People Packs" I'd be way more interested in those figs. If there ends up big dicount, I'll seriously consider the larger Stage sets for parts/figs, just not at their full €70 / €100. Boom Box actually has a lot of regular bricks/plates in black, and all the stages generally have lots of tiles as well. Still hoping for a Castle Stage to fit those Dragon type figs, or for the Zombies/Werewolfs.
  24. Oh yeah it's 2019, my bad, I last looked it up to see it wasn't available anymore and it said like (first available since December 2018) , so yeah, it's actually a 2019 set indeed. Still, it retired pretty quick compared to some other City sets.
  25. Home Alone set should best release around christmas time as it's considered one of the more known and popular christmas time movies , so probably November? The other 2 sets aren't really bound to a season imo.
