  1. The included Pig in this set has no eyelashes, only the pig that came with Nexo Knights of the same color in 2017 did.
  2. Wouldn't surprise me if LEGO did bring back hospital/medical sets to City sooner then they orignally had planned before this Pandemic.
  3. Not really doing anything Pirates related, but waiting for the pictures for the 3-in-1 Pirate Ship set, and eventually getting the IDEAS set as well. After that, likely try modify the building from the Pirate Roller Coaster + Tree House Treasures into a proper fort/harbour.
  4. While it hasn't happened recently, technically the feet of a minifig are similar to a 1x1 antistud. The figures I have used on the year 2000 Soccer sets won't grip on regular studs anymore after having them on the soccer field stands for a long time. The legs aren't cracked however. I assume the studs on this part are slightly bigger then regular studs to keep them from flying off when playing the game.
  5. Was recently playing Civilization : Beyond Earth again, and that ship looks a bit like the colony ships seen at the intro. Nice shaped small build.
  6. It is a full ship with 2 masts and plate-sails, maybe a bit shorter then the Barracuda, but still I'd assume 1000+ parts with the €100 price tag. Still would look more blocky since it's Creator but also has alternate builds that might be of interest instead (Island/Tavern).
  7. Knight and Statue look great, even could fit in with the Stone Monster faction of nexo knights, with those lightning eyes and overall color schemes.
  8. I do like the first prototype (far right on 1st pic) the most , as it's less bulky on the overhang part, the roof thickness is just more visually appealing, also the basic seats look fine. Only thing I'd possibly change is to change the Bus Stop sign to a seperate pole on the sidewalk, right now the signpost is a bit tall, maybe change the top to a Lamp, and the clock below it.
  9. True , it could have been a larger official Pirates line of seperate sets. Maybe, due to this big set being under IDEAS, they had to compromise and put the other set under Creator. LEGO has experimented with Pirates inspired 3-in-1 sets in 2018 (Treehouse/Rollercoaster). Hopefully this will lead to another actual wave of sets soon, maybe some Islanders or a Soldiers/Imperial Ship.
  10. I do hope the 3-in-1 Pirate Ship alternate builds (Island/Tavern) integrate easily with the Island part of this set, so that that set can be used for a bigger Island, as it should have different parts instead of those ship-hull parts. There's a €100 3-in-1 set coming, named Pirate Ship, but since it's Creator, I assume it would not be well received by everyone as it uses plate-sails and likely has no ship-hull parts. (hopefully with an Ironhook inspired character) 3-in-1 usually has to make compromises to have diverse alternate builds, which isn't bad. I can see why they opted to use a full ship with sails here, to cover another part of the fanbase. Even for this, Compromises have to be made to cover a larger fanbase of customers, and making this technically 2-in-1 will get more buyers/fans, and not just the Ship or Hideout fans. But I personally still really like this set in "Shipwreck/Hideout mode" as well, for me, this is the best set of the last few years LEGO has made. Would it be better if LEGO released the ship as a seperate set under some Classic theme label? Possibly, but maybe this will lead to a revival of more frequent Pirates sets instead of 5+ year gaps in-between sets. (I don't count the Pirate Rollercoaster Tree House here)
  11. Still hoping LEGO makes another Pirate themed Xtra to get us some massable items. The current Xtra sea polybag already has a nice way to get a shark, parrot, treasure chest, treasure map, so another one that's even more Pirate themed would be nice. Another Xtra Pirates bag could contain : Cannon (likely Red to go with current sets) Cannonballs (black 1x1 round bricks) Monkey Golden Coins Palm Leafs (either the classic or new versions) Weapons (sabre, pistol, rifle) Hats Small printed Jolly Roger flag + antenna. Could even do a seperate one for Soldiers / Armada etc.
  12. Speaking of cannons, I do like that they used red, and there is also a red cannon with the 3-in-1 Pirate Rollercoaster, and I do hope the 3-in-1 Pirate Ship has at least 2 red cannons as well. That said, more cannons via a Pirates themed Xtra would be nice, could be a way to re-introduce the monkey and golden coins as well, add some pirate weapons/hats and a palm leaf, and it's easily massable. The current Xtra sea polybag already has a nice way to get a shark, parrot, treasure chest, treasure map, so another one that's even more Pirate themed would be nice.
  13. And the reverse is also happening, where Blogs comments are being replaced by Forums : See Blizzard Entertainment (makers of Overwatch) " Over the next few weeks, we’ll be transitioning blog comments over to our new forums. At that time all historical blog comments will be lost. During the transition, you can still join the conversation by heading over to our General Discussion Forums. " As for Polls on blogs, I never treat them as 100% facts, but more of a general direction, as it really varies per website, and most polls are snapshots of a certain moment. If no proper measures are taken, polls can be easily abused by newly created accounts. Still, LEGO uses polls to decide some sets, like the IDEAS ISS vote. Or if some "famous" (in social media terms) person posts like a link or site to vote on (LEGO IDEAS for example) , the traffic of people could be very different from the already established "community". The review phase is an extra measure for IDEAS to not just create everything that gets to 10000. Now that doesn't mean that IDEAS that get to 10000 is easy, but in a case where something would reach 10000 in 1 day it would get suspicous. Social media has a big bandwagon mentality, and some people just too easily follow everything some youtuber/facebook/instagram says, even regarding LEGO, with the whole 501st battlepack spam getting to a point of being annoying.
  14. True, many LEGO animals have 0 studs and just anti-studs.
  15. Maybe it's from Hidden Side, as it has a submarine set + this is white/green colored (glow in the dark possibly?) Otherwise could be for City, as they have some undersea/diver sets in 2020. But still it doesn't look very LEGO-like.
  16. Great alternate build. Love those layered/offset shield tiles, also the sharp angled parts and color scheme just works very well. Great alternate build. Great use of those shield tiles in different places. Also the sharp angled parts and color scheme just works very well. The golden swords and threads really gives it the Ninjago Asian look as well.
  17. I do actually like that some of those figures are somewhat similar in style to the Nexo Knight villains, wonder if the same people designed them. Troll reminds me of General Magmar Goblin reminds me of the Book Keeper. Skeletons look nice as well.
  18. Nice style of update, fits with the current City style, but still has the Town feel as well.
  19. Wouldn't surprise me if they made it more like a small village/market like a re-imagined blend of Medieval Market Village and Blacksmith Shop
  20. That stone head design also was in 6292 Enchanted Island , which was another LEGENDS set next to the Barracuda. I had the 1994 version of that set I do hope the 3-in-1 Pirate Ship has a Captain Ironhook, would be great to have him available as a rival to Redbeard.
  21. Best IDEAS set ever indeed, LEGO improved it by a lot. I much rather get this then unused filler-space that was based on the original design's raised baseplate. Using the ship for height and little huts is genius, and even enforces the story of the actual shipwreck being used for living space. I voted for the original, but making a ship out of it is so much better, and with the sails, and yellow accents, much more colorful. Tree House was changed quite a lot as well, and was voted the most popular set of 2019 on brickset. IDEAS isn't meant to be the same as selling MOCS in a box.
  22. Same here, I'm more likely to keep the IDEAS ship intact, and the 3-in-1 set would be more for custom mocs at some point.
  23. 100% agree here, I did have some Pirates sets from 1989 and the 90s, but never got a ship, and I love how this contains a ship, but also serves as an shipwreck/island at the same time. I love this brighter overall color scheme as well.
  24. Alternate builds are actually a Tavern and an Island. I think 2 non-ship builds are fine, considering the Pirates of Barracuda Bay surprised us with a full ship build with real sails, that's even based on the 1989 classic. Would be interesting if they'd have a Captain Ironhook inspired figure in this set to have 2 rival ships.
