  1. There are plenty of "Fans" that don't care about Zelda or Pokemon, but love Mario.
  2. I'd think something like a Blind Bag they do with DOTS (random printed tiles) or previously Nexo Knights (printed shield-tiles), with random assorted coins/power ups (Stars/Flower/Mushroom etc) could work as a non-CMF blindbag for Mario. Basicly the majority would be some sort of coin(tiles) with the rest being random powerups of some sort, either moulded or printed.
  3. I do hope it's based on Classic Mario or Mario Kart, but with good focus on the levels. If it's indeed Leaf theme, those blind bags could be random powerups/coins , like a crossover of DOTS and NEXO Powers.
  4. I'd love another minifig chess set release, while not people pack, they have been the closest to a large number of Castle/Pirate/Viking Figures in a single set. https://brickset.com/sets?query=chess set 2005 - Knights Kingdom 2006 - Vikings 2007 - Castle (skeletons) 2008 - Castle Giant Chess Set 2009 - Pirates 2012 - Kingdoms 2015 - Pirates 2017 , no minifigures, and still sold now. Surprised they didn't do a Ninjago chess set at all, and that theme has been going for nearly 10 years. Other then that, yes I would prefer themed people packs 100%, hopefully Ninjago Gamers market was a start of more to come, also for other themes.
  5. City has gone with years without Hospital on the shelves before, 2012 hospital was sold by LEGO from July 2012 - March 2014, so there was no hospital until 2018. (or 2017 via Friends) City still has a winter-sport hospital set now , but it's more specialized : That set just released in september so likely won't retire soon. I don't expect another City Hospital till at least 2021.
  6. Many kids that have those sets might not have even seen the movie, and even then they are still the main target buyer for those sets. Avengers Endgame was rated PG13, while those sets were sold as 6+ or 8+. AFOL or teens might compare the sets with the movies as a deciding factor for buying, but even then I still think a large portion of the sales were by kids or their parents, seperate of the movie details. Of course the movie being the #1 revenue movie of all time, and the news about that, must have attracted a lot more buyers as well. (and now 4 Avengers movies are in the top 11)
  7. Yeah, green and brown were really rare outside of specialized pieces like trees, baseplates, horses or palm trees. Grey mostly only was available via Space themes as well early on. I remember getting my first brown 1x2 brick & plate with this set , and that was just to fill the gap on the horse's back when it wasn't using the saddle or pulling the wagon. 1993 My first green plates came with this in 1994
  8. Oh the combination of Technic Beams + Studded Bricks with holes opened up a whole different level for sure. Both types certainly have their place into the parts inventories, and both are even seen in System themes. I also think it's great to see system parts being used in Technic theme sets, like the front of Mack Anthem or sides of Land Rover, just to name some recent sets. But back on the main topic, Technic being in system themes certainly isn't a recent thing. were used in the very first Yellow Castle in 1978
  9. True, for kids the colors won't matter that much. I grew up in the limited color period as well, most regular bricks in those "buckets" were yellow, red, blue, white, black. Still, according to this graph 2005 had the most colors.
  10. While I haven't bought any Technic branded sets for like 20 years (my last ones being year 2000 Slizers), getting the Technic-experience via system sets nowadays does certainly show it's success. The bricks with holes, axles, pins and gears still being in use today, even in sets from Creator 3-in-1, Nexo Knights and many other themes. The mechanisms in system sets are usually simpler but I do like how they integrate a lot of them.
  11. Overall City does make better cars and trucks for sure, in the 4-6 wide segment, so I do hope 2021 is a more house-heavy Creator 3-in-1 year. Some 3-in-1 vehicles are weirdly overpriced (€25 - 198 pieces) , especially next to this (€10 - 134 pieces) , the red set even looks nicer for minifigs with the cabrio and hotrod.
  12. True, I do like that they brought it back a few years ago, and do innovate with different types of sets like the light-bricks for 2020. I do hope they'll move the theme into the direction of those 2018 sets that included minifigs/accesoires, and a bit less rainbow of colors. Themed Classic sets could be a cool concept as well, with parts more specialized toward Castles/Spaceships/Pirates and into a more refined color scheme. Those 2018 sets had minifigs with Castle, Pirates and Space accesoires and minibuilds across the sets, refering to those Classic themes. Creator already doing it with the Pirate Ship , hope it follows up with some Space and Castle type version later.
  13. In the infographic they say Classic as top 6, then in the Report they list Creator as top 5.
  14. I'd think they'd keep Legacy around at the least. At this point it is it's a pretty large portion of overall Ninjago presence, with it's own sets and magazine, and not just small sets either.
  15. Seals were off on 1 side yes. Amazon DE. But since nothing was missing I didn't return it.
  16. The LEGO set box was damaged and open at the side, the outer shipping box was fine, so it probably was damaged before shipping, likely from something too heavy put on top of it. Seals weren't cut in my case however, but still was a large 900+ piece set with nothing missing.
  17. I once received a damaged box completely open at the sides, but it was still 100% complete.
  18. I just hope my theory was not seen as intentionally spreading fake info. (not connected to that Facebook Post in any way) My theory was pure speculation on set numbers, not related to anything or anyone else. That said, seeing a few Monkey Kid characters as Constraction in like a later wave could be interesting, Legends of Chima had 2 waves of characters in Constraction, so never saying never, but also don't want to give false hope here.
  19. That Diagon Alley mentioned there (under "Explore") could still mean this set from 2018 : 40289: Diagon Alley
  20. It is really interesting , the fact some type of sets haven't changed much and still being sold for 30+ years, including Animals, Knights and Pirates
  21. Exactly. Especially in a time where Internet shopping is rapidly growing (and many physical stores are actually closing).
  22. I understand, I see claims on themes not selling just based on regional shops a lot. And I just don't think that can be used as a fact for an entire country or worldwide.
  23. I think regional differences certainly can be taken into account, and I just don't mean on a country scale, even on a city scale it seems to vary. In my case, I just can't claim that LEGO CMF sell good or bad just because I literally never ever see them being sold here, Polybags are rarely seen as well. We don't have Walmart/Target type stores here. We had some Toy Shops nearby but a lot of them closed in the last 5 years, either due to downscaling or closing entirely. Internet shopping is rapidly growing.
  24. Ninjago 2020 Gamer's Market is a $30 set in US, and has 9 figures. 6 figures sounds possible then for Star Wars.
