  1. Interesting. You can see a similar case with the old vs new 8t gear, where the old one is narrower. What if you use the 3L driving ring ith the old clutch gears? Both are compatible Courtesy of Paul Boratko http://youtu.be/kznEFrMxZf8
  2. Hi Here is another alternative model of 42038 set. It was created in February but I forgot to post it. It has around 600 pieces Features. * Rising and lowering arms with miniLAs operated by the knob on the roof * Bucket operated by a lever system * Seat with suspension I have made a LDD file, so I will post it soon in Rebrickable. Anyway if you want to take a look, you can go to my bricksafe page using one of the pictures links More pictures Hope you like it
  3. @nguyengiangocTrue. But it's a preliminary box design, so we can expect 4 functions as every big technic aircraft . I hope that the XL motor is not a "dummy advertisement" Personally, I like the jet. Lots of panels, PF and has a great design. Maybe the color combination is not the best but I understand the color scheme. We already have red and yellow in 9396. White and blue in 42025 and White and orange in 42052. Yellow would be so 42044. Red, so 9394. White and red, so 42040... LBG is the perfect color but it is related to military themes. So no chance I guess. Though Dark blue instead medium blue would be better
  4. Nice recap Saberwink. Also seems like the 42061 has black bushes Agrof, would be nice to see the #3 connectors back, but to me seems like #4
  5. If you can find the 8043 and 42009 for a reasonable price, go for them. Don't forget the rule of "Buy older sets first". But if you are looking for a great parts packing, go for 42030 and 42043
  6. Congrats to you for building the 8880... About your next project, the Claas is a great set, but I thought that you were going to build the 8258 first
  7. It really depends on what is the price of 42038 and 42053 together. Maybe in this case the 42043 would be better. If you are looking for just suspension parts, the 42037 is cheaper and comes with hard springs
  8. Wow! This is your best car so far! It's great to see how you have improved your skills.
  9. Jorge, si no lo quieres yo te lo recibo sin ningún problema ;) If you don't want it, I could receive it without any problem ;)
  10. 42038 so far. Many many useful pieces: Tracks, shock absorbers, ball joints........ Also it's an interesting build and the B Model is awesome. The 42049 is an overpriced set.
  11. The contest has ended. Congrats to the 10 winners!.
  12. Wow! Thank you Victor... Too bad that I don't have the wheels
  13. Wow! Those details in such small size
  14. 42039 and 8070 are a great option, though if you are looking for a parts pack, the color combination won't be the best hehe That's why I suggest 2x 8070. But yeah 8070 + 42000 is the best option (wheels with different sizes, perfect color combination, wishbone arms) About Porsche, I am agree with Erik. It's just a good looking set without interesting techniques (except for the shifter system) and with a bad gearbox. The model would be perfect if it cost 230EUR. But 300EUR for a set that needs important improvements out the box?..No way!
  15. If you wanna create a car based on the porsche, you are forced to build in a 1:8 scale without a great possibility to get extra orange parts. I said that based on the absence of some pieces in Orange or some being expensive. In the other hand, if you get the 8070 you could build in smaller size that means an easier job compared to a 1:8 scale. Also it means a better opportunity to share you MOC to the community because almost everyone could build it. Talking about the pieces, the 8070 has some interesting and useful ones, like those wheel hubs (4x) and the flex axles. If you could buy 2x 8070, well, you'd have a great parts pack. Even if you wanna get extra pieces, you will have a greater situation to get whatever you want like panels that are cheap or few soft axles (I know, they are expensive but 2x 8070 + some panels and soft axles, is cheaper that the Porsche) Also there is another option like buying 3x 42039 but that's just my opinion
  16. Looks amazing. I really like how the pneumatics make clever system and your MOC is a great example
  17. You have made my day . Nice MOC. Waiting for the video, I really want to see its performance. Do 2 L Motor fit?
  18. Looks impressive Edwin. The amount of details of your ships is incredible. I think we'd like to see the size of your coming BL order
  19. I say manual. Motorized functions in a manual car is so 8070ish :/
  20. Get the older first (42043). It's a great source of parts (wheels, pneumatics, L motor, shock absorbers, new gear racks and turntable, LA....) and a more functional set. The 42054 will be sold for more months, so you don't have to be worried about availability or price.
  21. What a shame! How do you know it?
  22. I get your point. My last post supposedly was the previous and longer one but I couldn't resist to post again . Well, I am completely fine with my entry not being a semifinalists. Being honest,, I was confident when I posted it because there were only 30 entries but when the list started to grow up, I knew that I hadn't a chance. The reason why I wrote my opinion (that could 'sound' harsh, but it's not my intention ) is because many great entries (I don't include mine) got eclipsed by existing cars, because misleading rules. That's all. About future and learn how to make building instructions, yeah, those are my objectives. . But I will not make it for my entry, it doesn't deserve because I feel that there are some compromises especially when I compare it with other entries. So this contest motivated me to build other car with better functions and looks (hope so). For example I learned how to get a beautiful car with simple paneling as the Carrera Gt by Fannylover, or how to build a compact sequential gearbox like the 919 by Steph77. No more complains about the contest, I promise
  23. I thought the same as nk4002r when I saw that existing cars were allowed (it happened when Jim posted it here in the 2nd or 3rd page). The only thing that TLG should do, is make a formal statement apologizing for the confusion generated by misleading and ambiguous contest (I'm not getting tired to write those two words, misleading and ambiguous ) Also everyone deserve to know their final score, but that's for future contest. If you are worried about lacking panels and flex axles. Why are you going to buy the BWE? There are other sets with a lot of those pieces because with the BWE you will get 5x7 frames 15L beams, tracks and a ton of Pins/Axles . For less you can buy the 42039, 8070 or 9394 (Though in this case ordering those red (or even white) panels/flex axles are cheaper than buying a whole set) or buy 2x 42044 or 2x 42045. Anyway if you wanna discuss this, go here http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=88763&st=850 for the on topic sake
  24. Thanks Agrof for the video. Oh man, What should I buy first, 42053 or 42054? What a tough decision! To me the 8043 is more beautiful. It has a consistent design. The Volvo looks a bit messy with those long hoses (rigid ones would make it sleek) and the tick orange parts (no chance for another design) but yeah, they are great models on their own way.
