Thanks! I fixed the LXF-file. Thanks! It's always good to know people are enjoying this process.

Nice concept! And welcome! One remark: I see quite some connections established with axles and secured with yellow half bushes. I think it's better to make use of pins as much as possible. One question: How do you tie the frame to the bottom of the suspension modules? I hope not only with vertical pins, because then the weight of the car will eventually detach the frame from the suspension modules. Btw, if you share the LXF-file we can give better feedback.

I can confirm this. Apart from that I think the issue is simply caused by switching from forward to backward (and vice versa) at speed. The kinetic energy of your car will work against the motor right after switching directions. That will cause wind-up in your drive-train, which also explains why the vehicle moves a little in the opposite direction after stopping. Btw, the white clutch gear is supposed to slip and grind in these kind of situations. Perhaps you should only switch directions at low speed in first gear or stop before you switch, just like you would in a normal car.

Yea, that's a bit odd. It's an error in my LDD-file that I still have to fix. The thin ones are a little bit more flat on the sides, so I thought that would be better, but I have a normal one in my real-life build and that works perfectly too.

No real news here. Made a teaser video. Somthing like this will be part of the final video.

[MOC] Tatra T2-603
Didumos69 replied to HorcikDesigns's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Okay, 'awesome' mainly applies to the 'aesthetics', but still, when I look at this, I see a very interesting way to get the shock on top of the wheel hub while preserving a double wishbone setup, even if the caster angle is too much and if this performs poorly . -
Although my 10k parts collection isn't that big, I did need quite some space to store them, especially with the way I used to store them: every part type in a different compartment of a storage box, sometimes also separated by color. However, as I sometimes build close to my work during early morning hours and during lunch breaks, I want to be able to move my complete collection around easily. So recently I decided to mix parts together in 4 bigger boxes; 1 with all kinds of pins, bushes, short axles (< 7L) and other small parts.; 1 with all kinds of connectors, wheel hubs, steering links and other special parts; 1 with all kinds of gears, driving rings, longer axles and thin liftarms; 1 with thick liftarms and frames. This works great for me - I actually like this better than having all these separate compartments - and all fits in a sports bag together with a 1:9 scale supercar-like build . That's a nice prospect!

Awesome! Both technically and aesthetically very nicely done! -
[TIP] Almost a perfect fit
Didumos69 replied to aeh5040's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Good to know! Something similar: sqrt(12^2 + 12^2) = 16.97. In the center you see another implementation of your find . -
[MOC] Camera dolly
Didumos69 replied to agrof's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Cool idea. I would also fear shaky videos without suspension. Or a stabilizing camera arm... -
I was already thinking my 'mod' would not stand the 8865 resemblance test. I'm still glad I could contribute a little to the LDD though.

I would be interested to know whether this would work for the dash and steering. It does fit perfectly, but it would be quite a mod.

You would gain a lot of points if you would finally link your images in instead of uploading them here. It has been explained before, but here we go again: Open a bricksafe image in your browser, for instance the 800x600 version. Copy the link from the address bar in your browser into your post while you're editing it. The link will be transformed into an embedded image automatically.

I've put the other link more or less in place and fixed that pin in the roof above the left seat. LXF-file.

I managed to get the rear axles right (LXF-file here). Had to put it in second gear to make this work though . Corrected some colors as well. If I find some more time I might work on the front axles as well.

I think the differential - or what goes for a diff - is floating. Otherwise why would there be a lengthwise CV-joint running to the 'diff' (which is of course not a diff)?

Please do! You have the extraordinary skill to merge multiple functions in a small structure as was already evident in your [TC10] Little Bulldozer and I would like to know all the details.

Indeed quite some bevel gears for the steering and 3 meshes between steering wheel / HoG and gear driving the gear rack, which is not uncommon btw. The two big bevel gears could be replaced by a single thick bevel gear. The thin ones have a slightly flatter surface and run more smooth. Anyway, the HoG still works very pleasantly. Slack also depends much on how well axles are braced.

Thank you @DugaldIC. It was during our conversation back in November that I started to work out the suspension ideas, with the sequential shifter already laying around. I also remember we exchanged about splitting the shifter from the stepper. It was one of the events that got me started . EDIT: Still anxious to know what you're working on yourself.

I'm working on some cutaways as presentation material. For those interested here's a cutaway showing all functional elements of the chassis. Here's the LXF-file (also contains the door locks).
