  1. Entry A - 1 Entry B - 1 Entry J - 1
  2. Thanks again! The main part of the hotel will be 120 studs long and 32-36 wide, so it will be larger than the train station building without platforms and tracks. (And I have no plans for anything bigger afterwards.)
  3. I got the hose from an English ebay shop who calls it "1/8" O/D * 075" I/D NYLON TUBE BLACK 30 METER". 1/8"=3.175mm is close enough to 3.2mm. (Yes, I still got quite a few meters left... might use it as a guard rail along some train tracks.) The hotel guests will indeed be able to walk and sunbathe (in the larger area) on the roof.
  4. Thanks again! Yeah, that gap... it didn't look that bad from above, I really should change that...
  5. Thanks, everyone! Yes, this plate (LBGrey, by the way) in the middle section is intentionally in this orientation, just to have some variation in that area in the middle above the door.
  6. Hi everyone! Granted, this is just a part of my planned big Grand Palace Hotel, but it works on its own too, so here it is: Note that the black rigid hoses around the windows are not genuine Lego, but a cheap nylon tube. Shinier, but similar strength. Let's remove the walls and have a look inside: The piano is from the Friends Grand Hotel, by the way. Maybe I should have added more gold to the ceiling... It's afternoon, so mostly drinks, coffee, pastries and ice cream are served. Painting on the back wall: » More photos in the Flickr album, as usual Hope you like it. :) But don't expect the full hotel anytime soon...
  7. Amazing indeed - size, design, details, functions, just great! But are there no signs with the station name and track numbers on the platforms, or did I just fail to see them because of all the other nice things? :)
  8. Very well done! The corner roof looks good too, gotta use that somewhere myself...
  9. I free-build. Well, there's some planning ahead (in my mind, not in LDD) involved if I might need larger amounts of particular parts, but over time I collected enough parts to have a decent stock of common parts available, so I only have to make very few orders during building to complete what I'm building. Like, when I think "tan grille tiles would look great here", but don't have enough, like on the middle house on my left signature picture, so I ordered some; or tan rail plates, then find out that they are way too expensive and stick with those few I already had...
  10. I like to have a variety of plates ready - once you make irregular walls and floors, and for holes for stairs, you need various sizes. Of course larger sizes like 16x6, 16x8, 16x16 are handy for larger buildings. On the other hand, for my planned big hotel I'll use lots of 6x10 plates because I got those cheap... And probably mostly 4x4s (from a PAB wall) to connect them.
  11. Really amazing buildings with lots of nice details!
  12. Great buildings indeed!
  13. Thanks. :) But note that I'm using brick-built roads which are more flexible than the road baseplates, but require quite a few bricks. Still, you can do different levels with road plates too, just build some supporting structure underneath, doesn't need to be pretty if it's hidden in the end. Bricks do for smaller or medium-sized areas, especially more flexible ones, wood (+steel) is useful for larger areas like my upper town above the train tracks.
  14. The underside is like a normal 2x2 plate for the lower part and a 1x2 plate for the upper part.
  15. All I've read is "Released June 1st, May 18th for VIPs" for the Minecraft Village.
  16. Banned for having a member number that has only two prime factors.
  17. Nice story. But I can't really believe it. I mean I can't really believe that MOCpages ever had so many big servers... ;)
  18. I agree, interesting and cool.
  19. Well done, especially the two lower levels look great!
  20. I once made an Alien Conquest train: -> Details
  21. Great! Both outside and especially the inside of the various shops.
  22. Thanks again! I got some in my modularized Simpsons house, of course. And I used some other bodies used elsewhere, but it's more mix and match than making "real" minifigures.
  23. Thanks again! Sorry, I don't make instructions. That's just too much work...
  24. Great, both outside and inside.
  25. Thanks again, everyone! Well, it's still work in progress... I moved into this apartment 3 1/2 years ago, but had built a few houses before, and still got more houses and a lot of scenery to do. Well, I'm in no hurry here. :) The house that inspired this: see here in Wikipedia (already linked above), or this newspaper article with another view. That irregular shape was impossible to recreate in Lego, but at this scale, my windows-on-both-sides version is better anyway. And using 2x2 tiles and curved slopes continues the look of the walls below. Though I'm not completely happy with them - the lower bar sits rather loosely, and it could use a short third bar to look a bit more realistic. At least they are rather cheap and easy to build this way. :)
