  1. Quite different architecture from my 3 houses, but they do look great! :-)
  2. Thanks, everyone! Then do it. :) I wasn't the first and I won't be the last...
  3. Hi everyone, my latest creation is a group of three houses, featuring two old-style ones and a modern one: (» Flickr album) The modern house was inspired by this one in Heilbronn, by the way. And the one in the middle is based on the color scheme of the little side wall in the TBBT set (which is featured inside). Let's look inside, starting on the left (house no. 5). A few years ago, I pictured a little procession of the FOOLOO cult, the Followers Of One Long Orange Object. This is their secret worship room: First floor features a bakery, based on that Elves bakery set: What to put upstairs? Well, the current CMF series has a ballerina, so... here's a little ballet school; first the office: Upstairs the dance room: Admittedly, aluminum foil isn't the best mirror... but I didn't want to buy 3 from the Detective's Office. Teacher isn't too happy - one of the girls raised the wrong leg... Upstairs again, here's a bathroom and locker room where two other girls are getting ready for their rehearsal: Closeup of the gable and two discarded ideas - they were a bit too big: Moving on to the middle house - starting with pretty much the standard Kwik-E-Mart interior, rearranged as needed: Next floor features the TBBT apartment (with the entrance through the house on the right, by the way), with an additional kitchen area: Third floor: bathroom and three bedrooms. I'm not that much into TBBT, I just used some bedroom images on the TBBT wiki as inspiration - Leonard's, Howard's, and Penny's: The attic is just used for storage - boxes, robotic toys, and a costume. And a little rooftop garden. And the modern house on the right (no. 9), antiques store on the first floor (left) and junk shop in the basement (right) side by side: I guess one man's junk is the other man's antiques... Above that, there's an apartment. Modern house - modern interior, starting with the living room: Upstairs bathroom and kitchen, and a ladder to the next floor: Not the most comfortable arrangement, but hey, it's a nice modern house, you got to live with that! :) And finally the bedroom, constructed with detachable roof AND walls: Has she seen her husband on the road home? Placed in my city layout, backsides towards the tracks: Yes, the Brick Bank will get an additional floor - once I got another one of this set at a reasonable discount... Train passing by - close, but still safe (I hope...): And I never showed this little lake shore scene before, did I? That's it - see the Flickr album for more perspectives and details, as usual. Hope you like it...
  4. It's probably the Danish price, 1399 DKK is currently around 187-188 €.
  5. The bank's 149.99€ in Germany but also shows as 187.79€ in checkout. GB from 349.99 to the same 402.56. It also happens with other sets. Maybe we're all getting prices from somewhere else? Well, not surprising to see yet another error on S@H...
  6. They're just 1x2 log bricks.

    Door colours

It does fit (just tried it), it's the same size as the regular 1x4x6 windows. BrickLink must have measured it horizontally.
  8. TLG also just tweeted these photos: confirming a January release.
  9. Brickset has all the images now: http://brickset.com/sets/10251-1/Brick-Bank
  10. I think the green in this image is too strong - look at the green torso and the money. So the windows should indeed be sand green in reality, and that's okay in my opinion. Other than that, well, a bit small, but that kinda was to be expected. Will just add another floor..
  11. Just use a connection of your own - like the cardan joint I used here. Maybe the World's Largest Toilet. Not from the same episode, but also huge, and it's still missing from the Tapped Out game (unlike those you mentioned), so it would be something special. :-)
  12. Thanks, everyone!
  13. Thanks again! Not necessary, my monorail works flawlessly. (<-- famous last words)
  14. What the others said: Great! Amazing!
  15. Thanks, everyone! Do you want marketing answers to your questions or real answers? ;)
  16. Hi everyone! With the somewhat iconic status of both the Lego monorail among AFOLs and the Simpsons monorail among Simpsons fans (and the current monorail event in the Tapped Out game), I thought I build one: Given that the monorail doesn't have a consistent look in the Simpsons show and game, I could take some liberty with the proportions of red and white, of the pointiness of the nose, and other things: With this design, I couldn't really integrate working doors, so you have to imagine them where the smaller windows are. Also, I had planned to make the first windows behind the windscreens gray, but then noticed that these window frames don't exist in gray... A look inside with the joint: Not a typical ball joint between the cars since that would push the front car too far to the outside in a curve, but moved towards the pivot point of the bogie. Fits nicely in a curve: And an attempt at recreating the Tapped Out splash screen: » Flickr album with a few more images Hope you like this train...
  17. Well, yes, the gargoyle is somewhat big here and looks like a stone sculpture on/under a wooden wall and roof. But it's still a great building with a great decoration.
  18. Thanks again, everyone! Well, they don't have to cross the track or go near it, so unless one falls off the roof terrace, it's safer than on the street. :)
  19. Thanks, everyone! No, the Simpsons mod (see here) uses quite a few other pieces. I don't have piece counts, though. Yeah, a part of me thinks that too, especially about the sides of the bay... By the way, the basic idea of a train, monorail or otherwise, through a house isn't my original idea. Others have done this in Lego before, and there was a house in Berlin, and Zürich has a funicular that does that, too.
  20. Hi everyone! Since there's probably a law somewhere that everyone who has a monorail needs a house where it can pass through, I built one too, also featuring a fashion store: » Flickr album with more photos This house doesn't exactly look what I had in mind before I started building it, but it still turned out well, I think. :) Back side - a little simpler as usual: On the street, we see a guy who really needs new clothes: Inside the fashion store: Cheap shared apartments for students upstairs - can't demand a high rent with that monorail passing through. Used to be two separate apartments, but they were combined (you see the different woods of the floor). Saves one kitchen and one bathroom, gives another room for another student... Three rooms plus bathroom under the stairs on this floor: Third floor: One room (with double-decker couch) and an open kitchen under the spiral stairs. And the passthrough of course. The painter who has to paint over that graffiti (which says "Blocko sucks" - Blocko being the Lego parody in The Simpsons) has to squeeze himself against the wall when a train comes... And two more rooms under the roof. This sleeping student apparently had been at a long party last night: Integrated in my city - with lots of work still to do: This new house kinda dwarfs the Fishmaster next to it - maybe I'll add two more narrow houses between it and the modified Simpsons house. » Flickr album with more photos » Video of the monorail running Hope you like it...
  21. A new exhibit being presented to the press or a film crew, maybe.
  22. Very well done, both outside and inside! The only thing I don't like that much are the gaps above the big half-arches...
  23. That's a Ninjago Spinner: http://www.bricklink...?P=bb493c06pb01
  24. Really great indeed!
  25. Really a great building with great architectural details!
