  1. That's awesome! Great build! It will be a while before I get to making one... just starting working on my new layout so no additional funds for new loco's just yet!
  2. Love the bridges too!! Man so many ideas!!
  3. I saw a technic beam coming out the side of the building which was moving the forklift but I could be wrong
  4. Awesome work once again! So bummed I missed out on this set!
  5. Really looking forward to seeing this in brick form as I want to build one as well! $170US plus postage seems pretty reasonable too!
  6. Really bummed I missed out on these sets and wish I could find one to buy somewhere! Nothing on ebay that I can find. Not sure if they are on Bricklink either!
  7. WOW amazing!!! Do you have any videos of it in operation??
  8. Wow amazing layout!! Those trees - are they custom colored leaves? For the fall colors etc?? Thanks
  9. This would be perfect for a single line tram on a city layout going from one station to another and then back again on a continual basis.... Just what I need!
  10. Awesome! Just might have to put together a UP one! Now I also really need a Big Boy!!
  11. If you look closely enough to the examples on the Australian Ikea website http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/20219620/ especially the white ones you can actually see they have 2 smaller ones joined together so definitely possibly to combine and make longer.
  12. That's awesome nice work!!
  13. Mine are in my sig but 1 x Emerald Night 2 x Maersk 2 x Horizen Express 1 x Red Passenger 1 x Yellow Cargo 1 x Lone Ranger 1 x Blue Cargo (currently on layby) My problem is I only have the 2 lots of power functions so I need more motors, ir receivers and battery boxes!
  14. Yes another Farm theme would be fantastic!!! If we can't get a Safari / Zoo theme then I would be happy for more Farming!
  15. Still hoping for a Zoo and Circus theme
  16. If you have the budget for either one of the Maersk or Emerald Night then grab the Emerald Night. Especially if you like Steam trains. It's a great set and easily one of the best train sets Lego has produced. You can easily produce add on passenger cars as well with slightly different variations to avoid forking out for the expensive windows. If you prefer a diesel loco then the Maersk is a good build and nice addition to the freight set that you already have.
  17. There are 2 sets of instructions on the Railbricks website that are for modding the Lone Ranger train. Haven't done it yet myself but its on my to do list. http://railbricks.com/instructions/
  18. Your best bet would be to invest in some of the rechargable PF battery boxes - they are expensive to start with but will last a lot longer and a cheaper option in the long run. Older Lego train systems like 9V etc did run off power provided to the track with metal rails etc like conventional model trains but only available now on the secondary market. So you would need to buy all new track and motor system for it to work.
  19. If it was a Museum it would work better as a front modular rather then a corner - and something of the size of the Town Hall would be nice. A Bank would make a great corner building and is high on my wish list.
  20. Yes the finer details are still to come - ie aircon units, roof access etc. I should change the title to include WIP.
  21. I had looked at the square ones yes but didn't really like the look of them - at least with the smaller ones you can keep the round feel which is what I was hoping to achieve. Yea I understand about the generator wagon but I liked the look of it so threw it in anyway.. Couldn't think of anything else to call it - maybe just another baggage, mail or goods wagon even.
  22. So along with the engine shed I designed I was also working on some additional coaches for my Emerald Night - but without the expensive windows. You can basically label them what you want but I made a Sleeper, 2nd Class, Kitchen Car, Dining Car, Generator Car and Baggage Car. Now I know back in the day the coaches were heated from the steam in the boiler but my Emerald Night runs modern excursions so the addition of the Generator Car is for more modern luxuries. Sorry about the backgrounds but I'm running Mac and don't know of any rendering software I can use. My inspiration came from seeing some of the other longer Emerald Night posts that have popped up recently so I'm certainly not taking credit for the design or look of the different cars but showing that by stripping down the expensive windows and looking at alternatives you can really come up with some great add ons! Second Class Baggage Kitchen Generator Dining Sleeper
  23. Yea couldn't quite figure out how to keep the doors horizontal up the top because that piece curves back down. Would have to look at some other options with the groove to see what else I could do. I didn't realise they don't come in grey either which is a shame as it makes a great chain fence!! I like to modern / modular look over the older look as it will mostly service diesel locomotives and the Emerald Night before it goes on excursion.
  24. I've been working on an Engine Shed for my layout over the last couple of weeks. I haven't been able to do any actual Lego-ing because we are moving soon and I have already packed everything up. Anyway this is what I have been working on to integrate and build once we have moved and I am sorted again. This is the first building I have done in LDD so feedback is definitely welcomed! I plan on adding details etc at a later date as well as more detail to the outside like some graffiti etc.. Thanks
