  1. Seeing as it is one of the only Aussie threads, it's the one I go to for all my Aussie information so I'm glad it was posted here.
  2. I would love it if it's the Gold Coast but my money would be Sydney or Melbourne! Either way it's exciting and glad it's finally happening!
  3. Unfortunately not no - sorry can't help you with that one! Good luck on your sandal hunt!
  4. If your down the Gold Coast pop into Oakley at Robina and I can help you out with a pair of sandals / thongs / jandals at a good price (I'm the manager)
  5. Saw some new city and minecraft sets at Target Robina today. Nothing at Myer and didn't get to Kmart or Big W
  6. Picked up 8 packets from Myer (with 50% off second item) on the Gold Coast so they should be showing up everywhere. Have some goblins to trade if anyone is interested.
  7. If the Jan releases were in store at the start of January like in the US I'm sure it could only help not harm the business.
  8. Guess it still makes the cut.. Hoping to see something soon.. I have birthday money to burn and the lego shelves are empty!
  9. Anyone know how long the DJ's sale is on for?
  10. From a source or a guess?
  11. Picked up a Palace Cinema for Christmas today from Myer - $161 after the additional 10% off. Now just to give it to my wife so she can wrap it and put it under the tree :) Will go nicely with the PR that's on layby there as well!
  12. Especially since you are only using scrap bits of Perspex that was going to be thrown out anyway... It's all about reducing waste these days!
  13. If anyone ever wants to come in and say hi and chat Lego, I work for Oakley at Robina. I also usually drop by myer every day as well...(they have the nicest bathrooms!)
  14. I need to get a HH still! Which Kmart are you at?
  15. Parisian Restaurant spotted at Myer Robina (249) and the Sea Cow as well (didn't get price).
  16. Sea Cow spotted at Target Helensvale. $389
  17. Awesome well done!
  18. For buying parts you need to tell him what you want - unfortunately his bricks are at the back behind the layout and you can't "browse" yourself. For sets they are at full RRP or dearer depending on the set. I've bought some train bases off them but that's about it.. Couldn't be bothered if I wasn't allowed to browse through the parts. I have a much better time at Toy Corner in a Adelaide whenever we visit family down there.. On a side note I picked up 6 packets of Simpsons mini figures at Mr Toys Varsity Lakes. I have doubles of Itchy and Ralph if anyone wants to trade?
  19. Upon further memory it was actually a DVD called "Great American Circus & Show Trains" and part of it follows the James E Strates Carnival train. Worth a watch if your into that kind of thing or are looking for inspiration. Might have to watch it again actually!
  20. You could do the Pirate Ship, Kamakazi, Whizzer, Octopus, Big Slide, Zipper etc. Basically anything that pops up from the back of a truck! Growing up in a small country town you get the "show" rolling through once a year so for me it was always a highlight! There's also a good book out there on Carnivals / Shows that travel by rail. Although I think these will be too big for lego rail.
  21. For me it's the product! I'm big into circus and carnivals so for me this is awesome! So much potential! I know not everyone is the same so each to their own.
  22. I'm wondering / hoping if it's going to be easy enough to make the ride tilt as well... We will just have to wait and see!
  23. Love it and it will fit straight into my circus! Must buy for me!
  24. I got the idea from this post - but obviously using the PF track I don't have to worry about the metal rail etc. I cut it using a small hobby saw and just filed the rough edges which wasn't much. I lined the 2 points up on top of each other to measure out the cut, marked a line and didn't look back! If you see in my picture above - the 2 wooden sleepers I have put in the middle track - between those 2 is where you make the cut - if you look closely you can see a line across the top of the rail.
  25. Slight modification of a turnout will allow you to run 8 stud wide parallel. See below - this is what I just did for my layout.
