I really disagree on 42039, it has its flaws, but all of those are cosmetic, and correctable, from a technic/feature point of view it is easily on par with its predecessor 42000. And honestly, modding a set is a great experience, and a personalized model will always beat standard lego design for me. on 42042, i understand that the cabin is on the wrong side etc.. but honestly, as a non-crane enthusiast, this set reaaaaaally hits it out of the park for me, it might not be accurate enough for the real crane enthusiasts among us, but again, MODding is half of what being an AFOL is to me. Agreed on 50 though, poor poor set, i like three things about it, and two of those are tumbler tires..

42029 is retiring, so if you know you want it, get it NOW, 42025 might suffer the same fate, 42039 will stick around for another year. Id probably go for 42025 in your case, since it also comes with some power functions stuff, which is cool to play with in MOCs, but i think 42039 is the coolest model (currently modding one myself, and i have another one boxed up for a rainy day)

Wow, i just found out TRU still has a dutch arm, i thought they completely changed into toysXL over here

Its going to be that BMW i8 with a weedy 3 cilinder engine isnt it? Honestly, im not expecting much at this point, Lego would have inroads with porsche, audi, ferrari and various others for a cool hyper car license deal (or an LMP1), but expecting any of those would probably just set me up for massive dissapointment

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors

Just checked the one in ijsselstein, nothing, and the shop manager said that if other stores had gotten it in, she should have gotten it, or they wont be getting it at all. My local shop is pretty small, and they made the lego section smaller (in favour of more playmobile ), so i guess i dont have to bother going back there again... -
Yeah, im definitely being carefull, im restricting myself mostly to /r/lego and the more civilized gaming/hardware related subs. As i said, i dont expect to make it to the theatre entirely unspoiled, given that its gonna take a while, but im trying to avoid the obvious places/trolls

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors

Awesome, im in ijsselstein myself, might pop over to the local BS under the guise of picking up a present for a kids-party we have next week, im not too excited about the normal SW stuff, but id love the ghost and Tie proto MFs, and 4 of the 5 cheap technic sets are on my must-have list as well -
I was expecting a "SW lego has gotten to expensive for me, im leaving for other themes" rant, but maybe that was me projecting my own state of mind onto others... Yeah, people here tend to be rather civil and considerate, im much more careful around reddit though, especially /all. I probably wouldnt even mind that bad if i somehow got spoiled a bit, considering that most movies tend to have rather obvious and predictable plots anyway, im kinda used to it, im in it more for the effects and storytelling then the plot twists. Besides, with the kids and holidays, its going to take weeks for me to see the movie anyway, so chances of me making it through spoiler-free are slim anyway

Might be easy for me to talk as a european, but thats kinda silly right? Googling tells me that there was one in 2012 (12 casualties) and one in 2015 (3 casualties inc shooter), to me it seems like one of those "you are more likely to die in a car accident on your way to the cinema" kind of things, i mean, in 2012 the USA had 33K5 traffic deaths, so for 2012-15 we are talking roughly 133K traffic deaths Vs 14 (not including the shooter here, for obvious reasons) in cinema shootings -

My money (no pun intended :P) is on general price hike, all the small sets (obi's interceptor etc..) are €35 in europe, while their predecessors were €30 Previous Rebels and TFA sets were already ridiculous enough to stop me from buying anything at MSRP, this pretty much means ill only buy SW Lego (beyond Microfighters and BPs) at at least 10-20% discount, the license is being squeezed waaaay too much. Just look at City/Ninjago/Technic for what cool smallish sets should cost, then explain to me why a downgraded Jedi interceptor warrants €35 -
Lego Ninjago 2016

Thanks! Ill patiently wait half a year for that mech then, plenty of stuff in various themes in the H1 wave to keep me occupied (i like the flying shark fighter thing, might pick that one up) -

So, at the risk of getting labeled as lazy for not reading the entire thread, what is the deal with the second list of sets in the opening post, the ones without pics etc? Im really interested in the Ronin Mech, its sounds like an awesome counterpart for my electro-mech, but im not up to date enough with ninjago to know is there is a summer-wave thing like in star wars -

While i understand your argument, that doesnt dismiss the piece-count counter argument, based on what we've seen, there is no space in a $250 set for an AT-AT worth of pieces -
Oooh, you found the new microfighters? cool! I like the X-wing, except or the solid/flat engine openings did you also get the Tie-proto? I seem to remember you are a big fan of Ties

Fingers crossed for a big-megablocks FO ship (nu-star destroyer?) in the next wave then -

I suspect manual control, considering some function have a little extra adjustment after the initial movement, and i dont see any NXT motors, so properly programming the distance would be HARD I wonder if all (or most) of the functions could be done by pneumatics, proper building would mean no adjustments, just flipping switches in the right order. -

If they give us a landing craft rather then a light cruiser im going to flip, the previous landing craft was such a dissapointing set, my most regretted purchase together with the Tie defender -

True, although i think the combo little screen time + the existence of 75106 for now is enough reason to forget about an arquitens. The ghost just retired, so a big new set for Rebels would make sense, but id expect something like a rebel frigate/corvette before a second imperial ship. Honestly, Lego better show something good for the summer wave, the H1 wave is pure grade A disappointment for me on the SW front -

Im hoping they replace 75055 with an arquitens light cruiser, but i dont see it happening, not enough screen time, and 75106 is still around, maybe when that one retires though... -
Great review! Im a bit undecided on the set though, it has some nice parts (4 cil engine in such a small set!) and it looks good, but also a bit small and simple, not sure if it stands up to the standards of the small tracked loader or similar for sets of this size, and as a parts pack (for panels/flaxles) the display team jet is infinitely better. Ill probably pick one up, but right now i really want another tracked loader... (last one was sacrificed to the MOD gods)

Great review! One thing reaaaaaally bothers me about this set, both models have the engine connected to one wheel, the other wheel on the "powered" axle is just left to rotate freely, and that really bothers me, as it did in 42022 (on 42022 even more TBH, since its main feature is being a frigging car). Looking at the pics it isnt even a space issue (as it was in the hot rod, where they "needed" to route the steering through), so they just cheaped out and didnt bother fitting a diff in there (or even a live axle link) Im not very interested in this set (not into construction stuff), but i think this is a worrying trend :(
