Remove the ties and adapt the mechanism to carry two of the upcoming at-dp microfighters, as seen in the series ☺ -

I do hope we get another imperial set from Rebels as well, considering both the at-dp and tie proto might get retired -
Id be very disappointed if the ultimate IP car turns out to be an i8, im not a huge BMW fan, and the i8, while technologically very impressive, just doesnt seem ultimate to me. Its not a poster-car like a top end Ferrari or Lambo. Im holding out hope that it is a LaFerrari or the like, Lego have a long history of working with Ferrari, and im sure the Italians would be delighted at the idea of the biggest most impressive technic car ever being a Ferrari.

Meh, scale is always an issue, not even the various fighters line up, at least the tie fighters are close enough (the carrier should be ~7-12 studs longer to match perfectly) Anything bigger then small fighters is going to have waaay too much size variation to find a common scale in Lego anyway. Ive got my Carrier in the mail, stoked for it, even if ill have to leave it closed till christmas -

I do hope we get a proper bo-rifle for Kallus, i have the one from the AT-DP, and the weapon just looks odd. And i have Assault Carrier Kallus on the way :) -
Just ordered 75106 Imperial Assault Carrier, ill be modding it, but the stock model looks like a good base, and a decent representation of the "real" craft The Lothal garrison grows!

I can see your point, but that applies to pretty much everything except for speederbikes and small fighters, everything is off on scale. Ill be modifying the cockpit window to look less ridiculous, and just set it up as a display model rather then a play-thing anyway. Just ordered it by the way, €25 below MSRP is decent enough, and it completes my Rebels Imperial lineup (save for the speeder bike in the kanan set), and its something different from a star destroyer for a big set :) And this pretty much guarantees that the next Rebels wave will have an Arquitens class cruiser, given that that was the one thing i would prefer over a Gozanti. -

What's the general opinion on 75106 Imperial Assault Carrier? Im looking at buying a bigger SW set, and this one grabs my fancy the most (already have a modded 6211 ISD, not a falcon fan, and the current UCS models dont do it either), i can find it for ~15% under MSRP. From my point of view: + already have the other Imperial sets from Rebels, so this would complete my Lothal garrison + really like the Gozanti in the Rebels series - Already have Kallus - Not too big a fan of the small Tie-fighters, i might have to make a big stand for the ship so its not sitting on the Ties - Ship might require some extensive modding to give it a smoother profile -
[MOD] Imperial Assault Carrier 75106 - Need advice
Vectormatic replied to ArchieNov's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Looks pretty good, much better proportions then the stock windscreen Im currently debating picking the carrier up myself, part of me says "nah, just get the falcon", but im a big fan of the Empire (and Rebels), and not much of a falcon fan at all -
Another Imperial Troop Transporter, i put together my AT-DP yesterday, and i felt agent kallus deserves more stormies under his command (i have now a grand total of 9 rebels style stormies, with another ~20 older ones, and a whole bunch of snow, sand, scout and dark troopers) And can i just say, im blown away by the quality of recent minifigs, even the generic cheapo stormies have very high quality helmets with multicolored print, printed legs, and the more special characters get special mold helmets (LOVE kallus' helmet) and one off face prints.

Wasnt a UCS set AFAIK, same size as previous AT-ATs as well (roughly) -

Id wait out the movie, see what kind of transport/stormie ratio we see on screen, and consider what would make sense in your scene, ~28 more troopers or an extra transport. -
Cleaning LEGO "aggressively"

If you are worried about the deodoarant's effect on ABS, you could use those pressurized air cans used for cleaning dust out of computers (they are excellent at dusting lego as well by the way) -

Id expect a generic rebels style Tie pilot for the Tie proto microfighter, i was hoping for an inquisitor myself, but given that unlike the Ghost, the Tie proto isnt unique, it would make little sense to give it a unique pilot (and there is the inquisitor in the big tie-proto set) -
Ah no worries, pins i've got plenty, and a bunch of 5-length beams shouldnt be hard to find either, so i should be able to get quite close by bricklinking a bunch of those joints
-
Wow, i totally need to do that to mine (after i get around to building) did you need any more parts beside all those joints?
-
Holy crap that is an impressive pair of builds, VERY good work

I hope they manage to avoid the uncanny valley faces (like luke's fig). If Kylo turns out well i might pick him up, loving what ive seen of him so far. -
Makes me wonder if it would be a good idea business wise to sell "upgrade kits" to fix sets like these. Its not a real problem like with wall-e, but they could put out revised instructions and a small pack of needed parts for those not wanting to experiment/part-scrounge their own

the point here is actually reducing traction (and thus roll-resistance), allowing for higher speeds with the same amount of power

And we'll probably get some TFA sets then, which we probably wont see before the movie hits -
Im in the same boat, the Go-kart looks decent, but anything above that.. and im actually clammoring for a kick-megablocks big set (not much of a helicopter fan when it comes to lego, especially considering we get a Ka-32 cargo style rather then a Ka-50/52) I was kind of excited for the dragster, considering id like a mid-size car chassis for modding, but this looks really meh, might just get 42041 instead for the B-model instead. Not too excited about the tumbler tires either, the wheels are standard racing fare, and the tires used in 42000 and 42039 fit better with my racing prefs So ive got my hopes fixated on the ultimate IP car, otherwise ill probably spend most my Lego money on Star wars next year EDIT: did some digging, the hoopla about the tumbler tires is about the front tires, not the back, and those front ones look NICE, wouldnt mind those getting cheap on bricklink, might have to pick up four for a car-mod

Id keep the left one, and modify it a bit, the lighter grey looks better, plus i dont like the use of stickers for the small grey bits on the front of the wings, i agree with fuppylodders on the Open Circle Fleet logo's, swap over the round printed tiles for the stickered ones.
