  1. Oof, hadnt noticed the droid socket on the obi wan interceptor... I was kinda looking forward to it, but it looks like it will need extensive bricklinking to fix the damn thing, It might be cheaper to just get the yellow one and buy some red parts rather then trying to fix the new one.
  2. Eek, the cockpit on thaty B-model is ugly... Modding a pullback motor into the Kart behind the gearbox would be cool, but you'd need to find a way to lock the motor from spinning with the Kart is neutral or fake-engine mode.
  3. I really cant wait to get my mits on the go-kart, it looks absolutely brilliant
  4. Those arent first order, its a battlefront battlepack, to cash in on the recently released video game
  5. You'd need three hydroplane sets to do it properly though, given that each contains only one blue curved panel, and the kart has three.
  6. Oooh, cant wait already Im not sure yet if i want to go the green route (have a spare 42039 boxed on the shelf i could rip into) or order the blue panels from the hydro-racer off of BL
  7. Agreed! im not 100% on the color scheme, but i think all the panels are available in different colors, so a re-color should be easy if i want to. From what ive seen so far it will also be the biggest 1H set that ill get, im not into mining equipment, the dragster is a sore disappointment, and im not a big chopper fan either
  8. I love the small jet, im very happy that they managed a good play mechanism with the landing gear. Ill be buying at least two of them, one for display, one for parts, those 7L flex axles are awesome
  9. Sounds like a cool comp, and given the size limit not putting PF in there seems fair (most Lego sets which either include PF or are PF-able wouldnt fit in a 10k cube stud box), not sure what i would do with pneumatic though.. Ill probably try to build a small MOC for this comp, but i doubt ill have the time for a proper A+B model of appropriate size, itll be a nice exercise though
  10. someone on reddit found a bunch of 2016 sets on shelves at TRU https://www.reddit.com/r/lego/comments/3tv5om/found_most_of_the_new_december_sets_at_toysrus/
  11. I see your point, and on the other side the bottom of the exhaust will hit the chassis beam, got all worked up for nothing :P
  12. I really want those tumbler tires for my 42000, IMHO they look much more F1 like then the normal tires, and are the right size as well, but yeah, beyond large-ish F1/racer models i wouldnt know what id use them in. And im pretty meh about thise wave, the smaller sets all look cool, ill be getting the jet, escape car and go-kart at least, perhaps the hydro-racer as well. But anything larger is totally not my cup of tea, fingers crossed for the ultimate IP car (otherwise ill just have to wait till 2017 for a new motorcycle and race-car) Anyone else really put off by how those exhausts are mounted? The assembly looks to be on a single free-rotating pin, no linkage between the sides either :( definitely one of the weaker decorative elements ive seen. Also, still no decisive evidence of whether the engine is connected to the front wheels or something
  13. For me Swooshing is an important part of determining whether i like a set or not. I built customer imperial versions of the Eta-2 interceptor (75038) and the first V-wing, and while the Eta-2 feels very right to swoosh (it has a nimble fighter feel to it), the V-wing just doesnt feel right, it is an awkwardly shaped fighter etc.. If a set feels right swooshing through strafing runs and dogfights, i like it!
  14. 42011 is still my favorite pullback racer as well, i kinda regret not picking a few extra of those, such a pretty little model (with the top panels behind the cockpit changed to white i like to imagine a Ferrari 312T2), and a good source of red panels as well
  15. I dont know, i really dislike the hydro B, it really has that B-model look in terms of "what the **** do i do with these pieces now?" vibe. I like the Jet B model, but overall im a bit disappointed that the Jet doesnt feature any cogs etc.. it is just a static model with foldable landing gear, compared to the twin-router and cherry picker of previous years it is really odd to miss a few cogs etc.. It looks awesome though, nice model, and killer part pack
  16. Check the pic here: http://brickset.com/sets/42045-1/Hydroplane-Racer There is one of those half thickness wheels visible behind the blue seat, which seems to be just one on that axle (there isnt a second wheel visible through the gap between the sidepanel and liftarm), but we can see another one of those half-thick yellow axle ring three holes further down, so there might be some mechanism in there we dont know about yet. The height of that potential axle is also exactly right to connect with the engine crank at a perpendicular angle. Either way, we'll know in ~11 days, but i would be really surprised if it ends up being "turn the knob to crank the engine" with just two gears in the set
  17. I think the other side of the engine is connected to the wheels in the body, so rolling the boat will turn the engine and the rear exhaust, mildly dissapointed that there is no steering mechanism, but if it has two wheels behind the seat and a slide-nub under the rear it isnt really needed for play anyway But yeah, in terms of feature complexity it is on the level of the twin rotor heli, and well below the tracked loader We do get some very nice panels, exhausts, flex-axles and a 4 cilinder engine though
  18. I like the offroader, havent bought it yet, but €55 for a full indepedant suspension set is decent IMHO, it would've been nicer with a V8 fake engine (more accurate to the real thing), but you cant win em all, it is also quite a nice candidate for RC-ing, plenty of room for all the RC bits, but light enough to be moved by an L motor at a good pace. The dragster though... i hate the look of it, i was hoping more for a modified hot-rod style drag racer, instead we get one of those top-fuel-silhouette jobs, with YET another new color and a hideous nose. The only redeeming feature i can think of so far is the tumbler tires, if the price of those on bricklink drops enough as a result i'll be giving my 42000 a tire-swap
  19. I suspect those might be a generic hasbro-designed toy, they have a generic blacked out speeder bike as well, so they might not be in the movie at all And even if they are in the movie, an AT-RT is a different sized set, the last AT-ST was a $20 sized set just like the last AT-RT, but that is comparing a 2007 set with a 2013 set, while id expect a new AT-ST to be much close to the AT-DP, since that would be the correct size for one of those in the new scale they seem to be using
  20. HYPE! Im most interested in the go-kart, the plane and escape car look cool too, but wont be too exciting in terms of functions, the go-kart still holds some secrets And ill probably buy all of them except the police car, they all look pretty cool
  21. Ill take a €10 plane with 6 of those over a €20 pullback racer though :P and i like the plane enough to keep it together until i need the parts, the police car... And yeah, i love the fact that lego puts interesting parts into the smaller sets, i bought the snowmobile purely for the suspension bits and 6 small black panels, now if only they could be somewhat coherent in their colors.... (i have a 42039, and even though we now get the wheel well cover panel in different colors, we have nearly no other parts in those new colors )
  22. This made me crack up :P And yeah, legends, some really bad stuff in there
  23. 10 white panels in the display team jet, including 6 of the smallest ones, i like that! Ill be picking up at least two of those, one for display purposes, one for parts.
  24. The AT-DP will retire soon though, along with the AT-AP, and we havent seen any two-legged FO walkers in TFA material right? Id love a new AT-ST as well
