A Ford GT would be interesting, although i personally dont think it fits the Ultimate description exactly, as it is a GTE class entrant at Le-mans, it'll spend 24 hours getting lapped mercilessly by LMP1 and LMP2 cars, even if it ends up whipping the ferraris (and i dislike the rear of the car tbh, i cant not see one of those pigs from angry birds)

That assumption is going to bite people in the megablocks soon, the fact that early SW UCS sets suddenly became hugely collectible and valuable means people are stocking them up right now, i wouldnt be surprised if in four years time the second hand market will be saturated with UCS Slave Is and theyll sell below MSRP. And on a personal note, i dont buy lego as an investment, its nice to know it keeps its value, so i can sell something once i grow tired of it, but buying a €300 set i dont feel excited about in the hopes itll become worth more isnt my style.

Not to mention that the new batmobile looks like an absolute mess, like the Tumbler and the Tim burton Batmo had an illegitimate child. Im getting the feeling that next year is going to be really cheap for me technic wise, nothing above the go-kart appeals to me, and the rumours about the Ultimate IP car keep going in directions i dont like at all, first the BMW i8, now the new Batmobile..

[MOC] Imperial Troop Transport (With two 75078 set)
Vectormatic replied to abyssahx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Awesome build, and it just clicked in my head that i have two 75078s sitting right in front of me on my desk Ill be tempted to buy another two though, otherwise ill end up with less vehicles in my Lothal garrison.. -
LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
Vectormatic replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Mentioned a few posts back, a generic resistance X-wing and a FO snow speeder, expect a generic resistance pilot and a snowtrooper as figs. For Rebels we get a Tie-proto (with tie pilot), the Ghost (with Hera), a Wookie gunship (with a wookie, surprise) and an AT-DP (with an AT-DP pilot), there are leaked pics, but cant be posted here, take it from me though, the Ghost and AT-DP look pretty rough, the Tie-proto is the best of the bunch by far. -

I dont know what i was expecting, but the Ghost and the AT-DP look like a hot mess, their insistence to put the color accents on the Ghost really ruins the coherence of the model, the AT-DP... looks worse then a generic battlepack walker, the side-cupolas and the gun are just terrible, if they'd taken some clues from the polybag it would looked nicer. The Tie-proto looks pretty awesome though, ill be getting a couple of those for sure, much better then the Wave 1 Interceptor too. -

Well, ill chime in and vote in favor of the Gozanti, it needs a few simple mods (there is a thread on it floating around), mainly the windscreen and spacing on the Ties, but it is a cool looking addition to the Imperial fleet imho, something different then the omnipresent star destroyer Mine is sitting in the garage waiting for christmas, and its killing me :P -

Call me crazy, but cheap officers/techs is awesome, id love more cheap OT Imperial crewmen/techs/officers Although getting only 2 stormies in a BP is a tad meh if you are purely looking for stormies -

Wow, thanks CM4sci! None of the DPs really fit my army (Imperial, but im not a fan of the battledamage)), but its all nice looking stuff, the resistance speeder looks excellent! Ill be getting the Obi-wan interceptor most likely -
All of this price stuff is guessing based on a rumour and previous exchange rates, weve heard $300 for quite a while as well, which IMHO sounds a bit more believable If its a cool car, sure ill pay €300 for it, but €500? no way, doesnt matter how awesome it is, that is well outside of acceptable budget for Lego for me.

Wow, that is the best pic we've seen so far of the dragster, and from the looks of it those blue panels are a new mold. Im not entirely sure, but the color also looks different then the bright blue used on 42022 or 42036, but that might be the color balance of the picture (hard to judge with mainly black/gray parts) From the looks of it ill be giving it a pass though, i was hoping for the body to look like a good looking car, but its all rather generic and boxy, and im not a big fan of the colors either. I do hope this means tumbler tires will get cheaper though, id love to pick up four of those for my 42000
-
While i love the color scheme for 42039 (although i modded some red into mine for an Octan livery), it makes modding an absolute bitch, there are some parts in there only available in bright green (the curved panels), and plenty of parts arent available in bright green, so if you want to keep the color scheme somewhat coherent, you are really limited with what you can use around the wheels. the blue curved panel on the powerboat looks promising, but again im not sure if lego has all the parts needed in the right color to convert the green in 42039 into blue (which would make for an awesome Toyota TS040 livery)

[MOD] Imperial Assault Carrier 75106 - Need advice
Vectormatic replied to ArchieNov's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Looks awesome, ill have to do the MOD on the position of the docking clamps as well, much better! It does look a bit fishy (hah), but that is pretty much the design of the ship, the gozanti variant in the last Rebels ep also had a good deal of Fish-look going on. -
Im a java dev, i havent programmed a physically moving thing since college (10 years ago), and somehow simple "drive around and have one motor function" robots dont really excite me, maybe its my limited vision, but it all still seems a bit trivial and pointless, somehow building a distributed file system across multiple servers or something thrills me more, even if the practical use of that is in all likelihood lower then what i could build with the ev3 kit And i know the price isnt based on piece count, i just think i might enjoy ~3000 technic bits more then the ev3 brick/motors
-
So i won set 31313 today, and im unsure what to do with it. On the one hand, it is advanced stuff, on the other hand, selling it will buy me a LOT of other lego (in terms of piece count, ~600 Vs ~3000). Im a software developer by trade, and the stock stuff for mindstorms feel rather limited, and TBH, i dont think the standard sensors etc.. arent that exciting either, nothing i couldnt do with an arduino/rPi, or even just virtually in a simulation, i find myself drawn more to the mechanical stuff with technic anyway So, anyone have any input? any cool ideas what to do with the set that might persuade me into keeping it?

Awesome build! I skipped the specs and went for the pics first, was like "man, itll be slow with that much body work", then i saw the underside with 4 XL motors :P

Hmm, i suspect they might look a bit small-ish, i have two of those though, so i could try it out. Anyway, i suggested the microfighter since Artanis wanted something to carry figs in, and four proto-Ties doesnt make much sense yet. -

A display stand would be a bit odd in a playset, but i fully agree, ill be making a stand for mine when i get it at christmas (HYPE) -
LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
Vectormatic replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I think all the hoopla about different stormie versions is all a bit silly, the new Rebels STs look better then any other version i have in the collection, from a quality point of view, i have absolutely no trouble mixing them. As for Rebels sets, ive read rumours that the AT-DP/battlepack/Tie will be retired, which will leave only the Assault Carrier, which would be rather silly, new Rebels fans would only be able to get any Imperials by buying the €140 flagship set of the subtheme (excluding microfighters) Im not sure what would make a good new Imperial Rebels set though, vehicle wise i cant think of anything but an Arquitens class cruiser (which i very much want) and a pair of speeder bikes, otherwise i think most of what is in the series has been covered so far.
