  1. This is a strange question, because Lego is a clone itself. This being said, I just bought and assembled a Kre-o tank and it just keeps falling apart when you touch it.
  2. The answer is quite simple. Insurance is only needed if you cannot replace the stolen/damaged/destroyed items with your own money. This is a rule not only for lego, but for all insurances. That's why you have to have a liability insurance with your car, because almost all people will not be able to pay for the maximal damage one can inflict with a car. Same for your health. If you have enough money to replace your Lego, don't insure it (Or spend the money on Lego and insure it anyway ). In the end this will make your life cheaper, statistically speaking.
  3. The policeman from set # 600 (1978). It was the very first minifig. They don't come older. It wasn't painted but stickered (the sticker is still there). I also have some stiffies and maxifigs, but I guess those don't count.
  4. It was meant to be thrown away. It is the moulding thingy on which the 1x1 round plates came in those days.
  5. What's wrong with this one?
  6. And what keeps you from putting some creator houses in your city? They're minifig scale too.
  7. But where are the pins? Cut off?
  8. The yellow one is a nice rebuild of set 5510 on city scale.
  9. My favourite colour is Modulex red. It is a kind of brick red. It isn't made any more, and has never been used for system bricks. It would be great for building houses to have this colour in system bricks.
  10. Flickr uses groups. There are many specific Lego groups, with only Lego pictures in them. When I visit Flickr, I hardly ever see a non Lego related picture.
  11. That's generally speaking not true, most roundabouts in continental Europe are of the same type as in the UK (although with driving in the right direction, that is anti-clockwise). There are a few exceptions here in the Netherlands, such as the Emperor Charles-roundabout in Nijmegen, where people on the roundabout have to give way to traffic entering the roundabout. The tricky thing is that there are traffic lights upon entering the roundabout, but none on the roundabout, so you just have to guess if oncoming traffic has red or green light, and if you have to stop or not. Also there aren't any lines painted on the roundabout itself, so once you're on it, it's a jungle.
  12. And otherwise: if you are looking for a reasonable amount of one type of brick, buy it on bricklink, because finding that part in many sets will cost you much more.
  13. You mean Mat '54, not 64. Mat' 64 was never painted blue around the windows, and doesn't have front lights above the windscreen.
  14. I don't care if it is in the modular line or not, I just think it is ugly in comparison with the other modulars, and that's what makes it stand out. But that is just a personal opinion.
  15. I' d like to see a dutch Dog Head.
  16. No, TLC's lawyers can't do anything against using the brick shape. Otherwise there would'nt be Mega Bloks, Kreo and others.
  17. Don't forget the price of moulds. They are very costly, and their price has to be counted in, especially when a certain new part is used. This isn't the case with modulars, so this makes them cheaper. Also compare the price of large sets of basic bricks like 6177, which gives you 650 bricks for €22,99, which is a lot of plastic for this price, but all standard moulds.
  18. It is a nice house. I have two questions: -Why is the canopy over the door and not over the window? That seems more logical. By the way, no need for the underside of the canopy to be flush IMHO. -What are the two 1x4 dark red tiles above the window? Just trim?
  19. Isn't that the whole point of the Winter Village series?
  20. No, they don't, this is Lego, not Playmobil.
  21. Since most native speakers of English live in the United States (I believe that's what you mean by America) my point still stands. But more important, what is correct or not correct in a language is not defined by a company. General usage is a more important factor.
  22. It is a five year old MOC by Eurobricks member SavaTheAggie.
  23. Moose is the grammatically correct form of moose. Lego as a plural has nothing to do with grammar but all with a company trying to protect its trademark. A case can be made that 'legos' is grammatically correct, because it is a relatively new word and this is the way most users use it.
