It's not any specific town in the Netherlands, but completely made up by yours truly. It's supposed to be some kind of provincial town like Delft or IJsselstein. Yesterday I was in Apeldoorn and noticed that the buildings in the town centre are of the same scale. But Apeldoorn doesn't have a tram.

That would have to be an 1x8x1 arch. Those don't exist I'm afraid.
-
While I agree with both critiques, I can't figure out how to solve this without the use of a saw... Maybe this picture will clarify things for you (don't mind the minifigs, my five year old daughter put them there):
-
The dbg plate in the middle is actually a 2x2 corner plate with its upper arm backwards attached to a headlight brick. At first I had the arches just placed there without attaching them, but they kept falling out.
-
As an addition to my Lego street I recently built a small modular town house, with many dark red 1x2 plates in the facade. This is how it turned out: There is no interior (yet). The colour olive green isn't very realistiv for a roof, but I liked the combination of colours. More on my flickr-page.

Lego Creator Expert 10234 Sydney Opera House
alois replied to GRogall's topic in Special LEGO Themes
In Netherland it costs € 20 more than in Germany. Both euro countries. We have 21% VAT, Germany 19%, but that's not the whole difference. Fortunately, while I live in the Netherlands the nearest Lego shop is only one hour driving into Germany.- 127 replies

Did someone notice the notes to be played are the song 'Are you sleeping, brother John?'? Another little detail.

Don't throw away your old warped Cellulose Acetate LEGO!
alois replied to LEGO Historian's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Why would anyone want to store Lego at that temperature? 67 degrees celsius is hot! One would have to put the Lego into an oven to reach that temperature. I think the warping started at a much lower temperature. -

I'm afraid the CA bricks I have are much more warped than those of your friend. It is physically impossible to connect them. I have divided the 2x4's into two portions: left warped and right warped. Using only one sort you can built very strange spiraling stacks of bricks. Other than that, they do not have any building value left, but I keep them because of their historic significance. -
City buildings and modular buildings do not mix at all in my opinion. The scale is completely different. But city vehicle sets do mix rather well with modular buildings, I think.

It is a nice courthouse, but the best thing is the Dutch flag on top!

This is a very original contribution, and very well executed.

The windows on the second floor seem to bug many of you. Could it be that TLC also takes into consideration the AFOLs who not only buy and build this set, but also disassemble it to make new MOCs out of it? As a parts pack it would lose much of its value to me if it hadn't some windows in it.

This type of titles (especially the last) makes it very clear that this set is aimed at AFOLs

I could be mistaken, but generally speaking stunning MOCs like this one tend to use a lot more bricks (and more different bricks) than the 2000 bricks of an official modular (and I'm not counting in the diner). You should be prepared to pay a lot more than € 150,- to build Sonicstarlight's Theatre. But it would be best to try and build a MOC by yourself.

This WIP-photo of Jasper Joppe Geers' post office shows how 7x7x10 also works. I haven't used this method myself, more relying on a turntable and cilinder bricks, like Café Corner.
-
It can be done, as 7x7=49, which is almost 25+25. Lego has enough tolerance for this margin of error. Otherwise said, 7 studs is almost 5x1.41 studs.
-
You could just have asked me . But the design wasn't my idea either, it was developed by Erik Amzallag. I very much like the ceiling, by the way, haven't seen anything like it yet.
-
Awesome MOC! The large scale of this modular and all the details put you in the tradition of builders like Jasper Joppe Geers.
-
Amazing building. I like the way you've restrained yourself in using blue bricks. And I think this would also look wonderful surrounded by a large park or garden.
-
Great tower, it will fit very nicely with your modular buildings, I think. And why not also build the chapel?
-
It would indeed, if you're a Playmobil fan. Remember, this is Lego, and especially the Creator line, which is all about brick-built structures. And they did a great job with this TGV. It brings back memories from the eighties, when I was on vacation with my parents in Burgundy, and we went watching the TGV's go by.

I like this diorama, especially the subway and the Tudor house. The library is based on the town hal in the town plan, isn't it? By the way: what is a MA museum?

Great layout, made even greater by the presence of the dutch 1200 series locomotive, my favorite dutch locomotive.
