  1. The interesting thing is that the new box design includes an old photograph on the front showing some old parts, i.e. 76768 instead of 2339, while I'm certain that newer versions include the newer arch.
  2. It says 'color', not 'colors' in the topic title. It's more interesting to name just one colour, I think.
  3. They sell it as glass made from ABS. That's impossible, even Lego doesn't make trans clear parts out of ABS.
  4. A street in the centre of Amsterdam would have houses with more floors than in my street. My houses are more typical of a smaller town like Weesp or Doesburg. Then again, I just like to try out a lot of different architectures. So it's an eclectic street.
  5. I will be there for a couple of days with my city layout as part of a larger train layout. Looking forward to see all the other builders and their work.
  6. I just didn't have enough roof bricks of either colour
  7. In preparation for Legoworld 2015 in Utrecht (Netherlands), I wanted to get rid of the last set (Green Grocer) in my layout. So I had to build another modular building MOC. Because it would be the ending of a row of houses, I wanted to build a corner house. The style is quite common in the Netherlands for villa's from around 1900. The building hasn't (yet) any interior. And this is how it looks next to my other MOCs: Hope you enjoy it. See my flickr-account for more photo's.
  8. Sets usually don't have screws screwed through rims.
  9. I've got the same problem with the 3451 Sopwith Camel (the first one). It bought it a few months ago second hand with a pristine sticker sheet. Now I don't dare to apply them, knowing what will become of them. I think that i'd better let someone make a set of copied stickers.
  10. The fire truck you quoted was included in set 10197. The Palace Cinema included a vehicle from the period too.
  11. It already exists. It's called Creator Expert: Modular Buildings.
  12. My 5510 is on display since 1986. Is doesn't seem to have undergone negative effects from this. The clutch power is normal. But maybe the quality of 1986 parts is higher than today's parts.
  13. This is a great mill! Is it supposed to be a 'wip mill'?
  14. It looks good. But why isn't it painted red like bike paths are supposed to be?
  15. Did you ever hold those CA bricks in your own hands? I've got a whole bunch of them and they are shrunk and warped beyond recognition and certainly don't fit my post-1963 ABS Lego. They even can't be fitted on themselves anymore. So there was a very good reason to change to ABS and they must be very sure that they have a very good alternative before they change the material again. On the other hand, Lego already makes tons of bricks out of polycarbonate and those bricks don't pose too may problems (besides putting a light saber into a cone and it getting stuck).
  16. The way the Eurobricks forums are put in order doesn't make sense. In the historic forum you'll find lots of fantasy mocs, which have nothing to do with history, and now you've made an excellent historically accurate moc, and it is posted in the pirates forum! I don't believe you were really thinking Napoleon was a pirate but I can understand you wouldn't want your moc to be posted between elves and imaginary worlds.
  17. That's certainly not true on a whole. If you came to Zwolle to buy second hand Lego from traders, Utrecht would have disappointed you. But otherwise many things are better, for instance the quality of the exhibition (no more collections of sets (after seeing the 20th Green Grocer I was fed up with it), but only mocs) and the venue itself (much larger, no overcrowding like in Zwolle, better connections by train). So stories like this shouldn't stop you to pay a visit.
  18. But on the other side, buying sets for parts is a great way to learn to know new and unknown parts.
  19. I think it was a good question, asking if it is a cult. When everyone is overly positive about something, and overly friendly, and one encounters so many zealous followers, I would always start to suspect there's something cult-like going on. And let' s face it: maybe we are really in a cult.
  20. I had the same problem. I used a lot of plates in primary colours under my roadway, and now sometimes I am in need of just a simple 2x8 plate in blue...
  21. There must be multiple earlier threads about this question. By the way, you pretty much summed up what most AFOLS would answer.
  22. The first minifig was a policeman, not a child.
  23. You seriously need a Lego room of your own. Will there be one in your new home?
  24. This is a brilliant MOC. It immediately brings back memories of little Roman piazzas. The buildings are great too, balanced in colour and decoration.
  25. A 48x48 baseplate is not a very solid base in this case.
