  1. Yes, if people can't afford the big D2C set, they would likely buy the Great Hall instead. If you are a big enough fan with a big enough wallet, you would buy both. Otherwise, you'd buy the big D2C set if you could afford that. If you couldn't afford that, you'd buy the Great Hall. Not exactly. The design will likely be a bit different between the 2 sets. Will there be similarities? Sure, but it won't be the same. And I bet it will.
  2. I actually always preferred to see Godzilla as a misunderstood hero.
  3. So what did you guys think of the movies you watched?
  4. I don't think they would have mentioned connecting the Great Hall to the Whomping Willow if the Great Hall was supposed to connect to something else. I'd rather buy the characters as CMF minifigures than spend the money on multiple sets that I probably won't completely like to get the 5 or so minifigures I'm looking for.
  5. I wouldn't say this is clearly the case. Even if there are 3 connection points, the Whomping Willow set could be made up of 3 parts that connect. So far, a strong rumor.
  6. Nice to have them all together like that! Such great designs!
  7. Appreciate the clarification!
  8. I would expect the D2C set to include a version of the Great Hall. Same here.
  9. That's fair. But it's not exactly true. For example, I'm a big fan of the thestral.
  10. I hoped for molded animals. I expected to be disappointed, and I was.
  11. I don't know if I trust this rumor to be true, but it would be nice if it were.
  12. This build is successful because of the ingenious idea behind the shadow. Well done. This is LEGO as art.
  13. I expected it to roll, and would have been disappointed if it did not, despite the original submission lacking that feature. Ideas is not always about replicating the submitted project. Largely, people are voting on the idea behind the set more than they are voting on that specific build. Despite the changes here, it still looks relatively faithful to the original project anyways. Definitely more than the Ship in a Bottle set did, and I even thought the changes made there made some sense.
  14. The idea of a big brick-built porg is dissatisfying, but I felt the same about the BB-8. I don't mind porgs overall, though. I'm disappointed the small version is brick-built rather than a mold.
  15. That's a good custom, and what LEGO should have done if they wanted to make Nexo Knights look good in the second year.
  16. It's really a shame that it's not purist because they look fantastic!
  17. I guess they haven't had a need for it. Most of its uses have been to connect something to the back of a minifigure in situations where the connection wouldn't be seen, much like these identity discs.
  18. The set looks great. The price could be better, but I still want to get it.
  19. I was not excited that it would be orange again, as all that orange is fairly useless to me. I do love how Nexo Knighted has become shorthand for talking about how LEGO really screwed something up, though.
  20. Thanks for the review! As always, you've provided a good, in depth analysis of the minifigures and pieces in relation to past LEGO. The pictures are also great. Much appreciated!
  21. It's a good looking bird. Love that it's big enough for a stud on the back.
  22. I wouldn't expect to see any such news. The theme is over, as far as anyone can tell.
  23. This is essentially my argument against those that insist that I can build anything I want to see. Coupled with what I said earlier about minifigures, this shows how it is often impractical to build what I want to build, how I want to build it. Expanding the parts and color selection on the Pick A Brick and Bricks & Pieces services would go a long way towards solving this.
  24. I'm not so sure about that. Still, Islanders would be great for a Pirates line. And even though Aztecs may not have been Islanders, I think LEGO could take influence from them in their designs.
