  1. The power armor set is still pretty easily available at a decent price if you look through amazon regularly. I just got one for Christmas for my son for $24, which is pretty close to what the SRP used to be. There's a ton of listings for $25-$26 right now.
  2. Looks fantastic! I think the corner building and the 32 wide would look even better with an additional floor.
  3. I just don't think I'd be able to sit on unopened boxes of LEGO for years. Other than a couple of cmf bags, I don't re-sell my LEGO. The one thing I've considered to make the hobby a little more affordable is getting superhero, Star Wars and other licensed sets for the bricks and selling the minifigs, since it seems that you can almost make your money back on just the figs if you pick the right sets at the right time. And if I ever get tired of it (not bloody likely) I can still get most of my money back by selling the modulars and other desirable sets even in used condition.
  4. Stunning as usual. The lamp post and the lettering are simple and clever ideas I might borrow. Would you mind sharing how you built the blue-white awning on the shop? Is it as fragile as it looks?
  5. Jang's reviews are usually very helpful. I was pleasantly surprised to see it so soon. This set is a definite purchase for me, probably around the next double VIP points event.
  6. I had to dig a little bit but here it is http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=84574 Most of the discussion has been taking place in the Brick Bank thread once the 2016 modular was revealed.
  7. All of this has been discussed in the main modular thread over and over, but if you're starting out now, probably get the Pet Shop first. It's the oldest one available and is pretty unique in that it's two completely separate building that can be detached. It will likely retire in 2016, along with maybe the Palace Cinema. In terms of build and detail, the two most recent ones (Parisian Restaurant and Detective's Office) are amazing.
  8. I hope we know soon so I can still pick up that damn Steam Roller below MSRP if there's no Batgirl in the new Batcave.
  9. They're really pretty good. We were at Barnes & Noble the other day and my son found a copy of the Superheroes Unite one for $10 or so, and it had the Clark Kent minifig so of course we picked it up. We have all of them now, with minifigs, which are the main reason for me to buy them, but it's an added bonus if the actual movies are watchable too.
  10. This got moved? Ah well.
  11. Welcome and thanks for sharing. There is a subforum on media and gaming for this kind of news. This thread is all about the sets and figs.
  12. Hasbro has some Disney owned licenses (Including Star Wars, Marvel). Mattel has most DC and most "classic" Disney Studio licenses. Bandai has some DC (Teen Titans) and some Disney (Big Hero 6). It's hard to keep up with...
  13. There's a new death star coming in 2016
  14. With most images for winter/spring sets for 2016 available, I'm sure people are compiling lists of what they wanna get the coming months. Here's mine. Advanced models/D2C: Ghostbusters HQ Brick Bank CITY Van with Caravan Rally Car City Park/Playground (pending images) Edited: Gas station CMF ALL OF THEM! CREATOR Corner Deli Park Animals Edited: Lighthouse (pending images) Holiday Destination (pending images) DC All three BvS sets Batcave (pending images) Cycle Chase Cosmic Boy (with movie) Edited: Killer Croc Scarecrow Speed Champions Corvette Mustang Camaro Drag Race Raptor & Model-A Star Wars Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma and Stormtrooper constraction (edited. Gotta have limits! Might still get them for the kids...) Easily four figures worth yet again. And I still have some 2015 and 2014 stuff to gather. And I'm still on the fence about Nexo Knights (maybe King's Mech), Friends (Supermarket, Cafe), and Marvel (CA:CW sets). Those are gonna be hard to resist if I find them at reduced prices. And I'll probably end up picking up some Mighty Macros and Star Wars Micro Fighters for the kids. Dammit.
  15. Please don't take this the wrong way, but I notice you keep saying wawe instead of wave. It's wave. Unless you're saying it wrong intentionally.
  16. I'll be picking up all the American models and skipping the race cars. Not that I don't like them, but one has to have SOME limits.
  17. So far, it's all good for DC 2016 sets. The BvS sets are better than I expected, the Batcycle chase is amazing, and the mighty micros are a very cute and pleasant surprise after the disappointing news about the short legs. I'm really curious about and looking forward to the new Batcave now.
  18. Hope these are ok to post. Maybe too big? http://i.imgur.com/lGtyDbp.jpg http://i.imgur.com/PdyDtho.jpg
  19. I thought we would be getting a tv studio subtheme this summer, with hints (or so I thought) like the helicopter in City Square or the antenna in the new fire set.
  20. Very lovely scene.
  21. Do you build the official build first or do you start modding right away when you make those?
  22. Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I was at my Target tonight and they had hundreds of series 13 bags out by the registers, where they usually sell the polybags. They were priced at $4.89 which struck me as strange. They had more in the aisles mixed in with the series 14 ones, where they were marked their usual price. Anyone else seen this?
  23. Seems reasonable with 5 figs and a couple of mediocre builds. Like this year's Gorilla Grodd or 2014's Steamroller sets.
  24. Quick-E-Mart, Ferris Wheel, or Airjitzu Temple were awesome sets from this year that should be available now for that budget. Don't know if you're into The LEGO Movie at all but if you are, then now might be the last chance you can pick up the Seacow if you can even still find it anywhere.
