I once build this lighthouse MOC. Had it sitting on a chair and forgot about it. Yada yada yada, next thing I know I'm at the proctologist's office telling him what happened: "it was a million to one shot, doc, million to one!"

Heating up the metal with a heatgun or simply over a candle will work. There's a bunch of YouTube videos that show you how to do it step by step -
Got the Ninjago Movie Fire Mech at TRU for $55 (20% off) to get the exclusive Ninjago minifigure pack...

Collecting pieces for my 'own creations'

Another thing about ebay is that sellers often have sets available without minifigures for sometimes a small fraction of the original price. Some resellers just pick up sets to sell the minifigures individually for a profit but don't wanna go through the trouble of sorting all the other parts out to sell on bricklink, so they just sell them off cheaply as is. A couple of years ago I picked up a bunch of Mos Eisley Cantinas, without figs, accessories, or dewback, for under $10 a set, iirc, and have since done the same with several other Star Wars and licensed sets. -
Are speed champions usually even in the retail catalogs? In the USA they are retail exclusive to Toys R Us so they might not include them in the retail catalog

LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion
BlockLogo replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Oh man, my 6 year old son is super hyped for the movie and the sets, and has been saving all his pennies for months now to get one of the small sets. We were at target today and found the juniors set on the shelf, and he started screaming with excitement and counting his money to see if he could buy it. He was only about a buck short, so I told him we could. But when we got to the register to pay we were told that we couldn't buy it till the street date (the screen said July 30), and he just started quietly sobbing as they put the box away... the cashier called the manager over to see if they could bypass and make an exception, but no go. The manager felt so bad for my son he gave him a $10 gift card. -
Brickpicker might be worth checking out, though I don't really like the vibe of that part of the lego community.

When can we expect a spinoff topic Assembling Ninjago City, huh? ;) That building in the trailer that was knocked over and destroyed by the big villain looks pretty cool...

Huh. About the Flying Fox, I just watched jangbricks' review of it and it doesn't look as bad to me now. It seems mostly a halfway decent lego adaptation of a bad looking vehicle. Still not digging steppenwolf (or the rest of the figures) but that's mostly personal taste I think.

Awesome concept and execution! The color scheme and textures look great. One minor friendly suggestion: the black statues and whip elements don't really work for me due to the harsh contrast.

Awesome! Another 7-8 cars to add to the collection! Still have to pick up this year's mclaren and Ferrari sets...

They have been spotted at some targets and the legoland stores have them as well, together with the Ninjago movie sets. They'll be at TRU and Walmart within a week, I'd guess

I've seen several people posting to lego's social media acoounts about missing pieces in assembly square. It seems to be an issue with that set. -

5 more sets, a D2C AND a 2nd cmf series?? IMO that's overkill... -

Wait, what?!? 5 more Lego Batman Movie sets? Including a big exclusive? That seems overkill, but I'll take it. Forgive me if it's been asked and answered before, but people are talking about a second line of cmf as if it's been confirmed beyond a doubt, but has it been? Actually confirmed, that is? -
They look much better than the Thor sets. Though the Flying Fox just looks like a big black box with wings to me. Is that a new arm mold on cyborg or is he just holding a stud shooter?

I usually don't care for this gimmick on otherwise realistic commercial building modulars where the exterior features an upacaled brickbuilt model of whatever is being sold inside, but this one... wow! Just fantastic all around, and I especially like the rooftop.

I'm looking at this piece on my phone and can't see it all too clearly, but me it just looks like a SNOT build with inverted slope bricks, not tiles.

I don't like how the exposed side wall of the Detective's office looks next to the Parisian restaurant with some visible off-color technic pieces. And there's a general modulars topic where you can ask questions like this so the forum doesn't get cluttered with very specific question topics.

It was referred to as Batmobile in the comic, though... I've seen several great LEGO interpretations of this vehicle, but this one is probably the best yet! And awesome that there's gonna be a Mutant Leader minifig soon to go with it, too! I've been meaning to modify that dumb tank from last years Killer Croc set into a scaled down version of this. And I just realized that you're probably using the TLBM Robin minifig for Carrie Kelley! That's awesome!

I was able to get the croc set too tonight for $40 at Barnes & Noble. 25% off with member discount and a coupon. I figured I was gonna pay close to that price on ebay or bricklink for the three bad guy figs anyway, so it was a no brainer. I don't know if I'm gonna even bother building the truck. -
This is a pretty cool green race car with some great techniques and parts usage, but I wouldn't call it a Speed Champion, as it's not based on a real car and doesn't use elements typically found in Speed Champions models. Always nice seeing historical/castle builders try out some Town style builds!

Using grey bricks for the side walls is something I have considered as well, just keeping the sand green for the visible parts as my model is modified already anyway and I have no intention if selling it or anything. I don't have pics of mine but there are several in this thread from other users, a few pages back. It looks really great with the masonry bricks, imo. Just keep in mind that to make it look right, you'll need to do some more light modifying rather than just evenly substituting the grooved bricks for masonry bricks. Here you go
