The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
BlockLogo replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
All I'm saying is maybe don't get your hopes up of getting new versions of all the DC characters in these 13 sets and 16 CMFs... It's not confirmed to the best of my knowledge that there will be a new minifigure of Green Lantern. Who, by the way, was in the Lego Movie in several scenes, but not in any sets. -

My point was that he was in the movie for mere seconds. And Larry had the best accessory. Bill Shakespeare was the best figure. -

60 packs I think, at $3.99 would guarantee 3 complete series and a dozen extras of the more common ones. But I think it was different for the last series. -

Why would there be a ton of different Batman variants in the sets? We got basically the same Emmet in most of the regular TLM sets, other than the on in Benny's Spaceship and some differences in face prints. The other ones we all promotional ones, IIRC, western Emmet and pajama Emmet. The hype is so real and the expectations so high for these sets and CMFs! I hope there won't be too many disappointments if/when the CMFs turn out to be 1 Batman variant, 3 major/supporting characters, and a dozen random characters that have maybe 30 seconds of screen time each. #larrythebarista #wileyfusebot -
List of Lego books?
BlockLogo replied to __________________________'s topic in General LEGO Discussion
There's a pretty good Lego podcast, All Sorted, and they have an episode on Lego books. There's a ton of them. -
If you're starting back from zero, I'd get one of the 3 in 1 creator sets, or a 2 in 1 technic. Doesn't really fit with your preferred themes but you'd get the most value that way. I have about $350 in credit from S@H. Should I get: Big Ben and a couple of smaller sets OR Palace Cinema, Detective's Office and one smaller set Big Ben would be built but disassembled pretty soon after for parts for a MOC I'm planning out, the modulars would be used to expand and add height to my existing modulars and for spare parts. I am starting to lean more and more towards MOCing but I am by no means able to even come close to the level of the official modulars...

I thought it was $400? And so much goes into pricing and piece count it's hard to predict, but the number of minifigures has a big effect I think. To illustrate with a couple of recent D2Cs: Assault on Hoth had a pretty poor price per piece, but had 15 figs. GBHQ had a much better ppp but "only" 8 figures and 3 ghosts. Big Ben has a fantastic ppp but zero minifigures.

More minifigures will probably mean fewer pieces.

Not a bad idea. Though they usually get more replies than most threads which constantly bumps them to the top of page 1 anyways.

Killer Moth vehicle looks awesome. Bizarro's is hilarious. I don't like Bizarro being only available as a MM or CC exclusive...

In theory, getting the oldest ones available would be the best plan, especially if you wanna get them all eventually. So get Pet Shop first. It's out of stock at lots of shop@home regions, but you can still find it for retail at other retailers. Also, there is a modular discussion thread in this subforum and a "what set should I buy" topic in the general Lego subforum. Both of those would have been appropriate to post this question in, rather than starting a new topic.

Apparently some sets were shown but only behind closed doors, so prolly no photography allowed. -
I justify spending $400 on Lego for myself by saying it's for my kid. I thought everyone did that.

Thanks. Then what is the one in the Darkseid set? That's not a classic comic Green Arrow for sure...

I'm not too familiar with the CW universe. There aren't any sets or minifigs based on the CW shows other than the SDCC exclusives of Green Arrow, Arsenal, and Atom, right?

I wasn't familiar with that event, but I was following it on twitter and a lot of IP products were being showcased and photographed, but no Lego Batman or Adventure Time. Maybe they weren't there, maybe they were but didn't allow pics, or maybe no one there took and posted pictures. -

Why wouldn't we expect pictures when there were reports that there would be products showcased?? Or am I missing something? -

I haven't seen anything yet, but it's still going for a couple of hours, I think. -

Isn't there usually a set as well, like the superman issue 1 and throne of ultron last year? -
The prices for the figures will go down quite a bit when those sets hit the US and Canada, I think. But yeah, it may not be worth it to bricklink them vs buying the whole set, though there aren't many useful pieces in there, at all, to me at least. I have limited use for all the wedges and technic elements that make up a good chunk of the piece count. He'll prolly post a review of the Scarecrow set soon, and hopefully that one is a lot better. It looks like the superior set of the summer DC wave.
