  1. UoP.DoH +1 on both credits.
  2. I'm sure I filed my MRCA webform early in July. Did the Island Rose not get included? I believe Bregir was in charge of the Brick Seas Purge filing. I couldn't tell; did the listings posted on Flickr include the second purge?
  3. The Dark Narwhal and Island Rose don't appear on the lists on Flickr. The first went on the second Brick Seas Purge, the second joined the MRCA.
  4. We Kaliphlin don't claim plots of land for ourselves, but I created an entire culture. The sigfig I chose was the personal guard to the Minister of External Affairs, not even the guard of the High Minister. Now he has left the service to go on a holy quest. I created a number of other characters I routinely use, and not all of them are Kaliphlin.
  5. I have seen non-FOL Disney fans that are willing to spend thousands a year on memorabilia. People who will buy multiples, and successive redesigns of the same product, are out there. This is the biggest step into that specific collectors market, and if it is successful, we could see more of this scale Disney sets. That would be after this set completes its run, which could be two years or more. What could that be, though? Spaceship Earth? Probably not, because the build would be repetitive and would have little external visual interest. I could see the Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom as a set on this scale. I could also see smaller Disney parks sets, not D2C but a theme unto itself coming out of this. A possibility that would depend on the broader appeal to an existing fan base. If there is a significant bump in the sales of Disney Princesses sets that follow the wide release of this set, I could see TLG perusing a full theme because of this. Right now it is a slim possibility, but if a market demand becomes apparent, it would be plausibly a good business decision. Would the Teacups ride make a good Lego set?
  6. A big problem with cutting is you inevitably loose material. You would have to cut at least two of each piece to even get close to matching halves, and even then, the structural integrity of the parts would be compromised. Depending on what you use for cutting, the part could warp and be unusable. I advise against this.
  7. Well, it's not just him. Mary-Louise Parker John Malkovich Helen Mirren Brian Cox From the first movie: Morgan Freeman Karl Urban Ernest Borgnine Richard Dreyfuss Julian McMahon From the second movie: Anthony Hopkins Catherine Zeta-Jones Byung Hun Lee Neal McDonough --------------------------- Another Bruce Willis movie I'd want sets for is The Fifth Element. Also based on a comic book.
  8. Sets based on Red and Red 2, which are DC properties. Given the plots of the movies these would never happen, but a Bruce Willis fig is a serious want.
  9. I knew this would be a popular set. The Lego VIP community seems to be decimating stockpiles everywhere. Just think what will happen when the non-FOL Disney fans start buying. If I'd had the finances, I'd have been at the Downtown Disney Lego Store with my card upon their opening the day this was released. I have some rewards points saved up.
  10. The William Shakespeare CMF's headpiece would be good for a tonsure.
  11. I did something similar when I joined. I created the Nestlings Clans, a population that had been in hiding for millennia.
  12. Hasbro is the property holder. As a direct competitor of Lego (worse than Megabloks) they will never allow TLG to acquire a license to produce sets based on one of their properties. The legal battles between TLG and Hasbro are why a Star Wars CMF series will never happen. As a fan of the game famously created by Richard Garfield, Magic: the Gathering, I am severely disappointed that Hasbro owns Wizards of the Coast. I wish I had a Worldgorger Dragon that I could send out to eat the Hasbro legal department.
  13. When I look at those pieces I see the perpendicular cut end of a log.
  14. My point was about the appeal to the non-FOL Disney fans. This is a FOL community, and we tend to post about AFOL buyers when discussing expensive sets. There are Disney fans that spend thousands on memorabilia for display. This is why I think the bow and target area hold no other references to Brave, because the adult Disney fan is more likely to be reminded of the classic animated and/or live-action Robin Hood. My rant about licensing and the minidoll:
  15. The minidoll idea makes sense to me. From the Disney perspective, this set and the minifigs likely represent the parks characters. Disney Princesses characters are part of the park experience, so a set based on a major park attraction would be expected by Disney to be somewhere the minidolls would fit in. It is a way for the set to appeal to the broader Disney fan bases.
  16. I used the forum search function at the top of main page. I knew enough of the titles to narrow the search, though. Challenge II was hardest, because I couldn't remember enough of the title. I ended up using the creation date of a prelude build to search the Avalonia thread for the correct link. All of the Book II challenge links have been posted in the guild discussion threads, but to find them fast you have to know the approximate date the links were posted.
  17. Here are the rest of the major Challenge links: Book II Challenge II Book II Challenge III Book II Challenge IV
  18. Flickr, like the others. Just be sure to select an image size of 800x600 or smaller. Also to make the BBCode come out neat you can add a line break or delete everything after [/image][/url]. To do this it is best to use the toggle button so you can see all the BBCode for editing.
  19. There's a Friends set that has the Hot Dog Guy suit. My post about it is the last one on the previous page.
  20. Vitruvian Minifig 2x2 Round Tile!
  21. To get a "legofied" Mona Lisa correct, I think it would have to be a 2x4 tile.
