  1. The first in a succession of story builds (unlicensed) is set near here.
  2. I've posted another thread which I plan to add to over time: A Curious Story.
  3. Some months ago the Consort's Duty was forced by a major squall to make berth in Hojaroja. Her captain, Missa Drewsa, had her curiosity piqued when she learned of a stretch of beach called Dead Sand, so she took a stroll. (full image) Despite the name, the stretch was filled with growing things. Laying out among them Missa found a curious thing, a beautiful white staff that appeared to be very old. She couldn't in all good conscience just leave it there. (full image) Another curious thing; the surf was amazingly soft given the recent squall. (full image) To be continued . . . (I'm sorry about the image sizes. In my haste I forgot to crop the screenshots before uploading them.)
  4. The Triuri faithful in King's Harbour now have a place to beseech their Goddess: A Shrine in the Sunshine.
  5. The Crahaish neh Triuri are continuing to expand the faith, now in King's Harbour.
  6. I've just licensed another small Art and Culture build in King's Harbor, A Shrine in the Sunshine.
  7. Northeast of the town of King's Harbour the Crahaish neh Triuri have built upon a grassy knoll a petitioner's shrine. Here the Triuri faithful can beseech the Goddess herself for all manner of things. Wandering Acolyte Isobel the Hearthfriend has come to ask the Triuri to protect a young sailor whom she had recently bedded as he has sailed off into dangerous waters. Here is the wealthy widow Geraldine LaFluer, and her pampered son, Julian. They are on their way to another one of the courtly balls being held in King's Harbour these days. Julian hadn't wanted to go, so Geraldine bribed him with a shiny new short sword. Earlier in the day Julian had been playing in the street, battling an imaginary opponent with a wooden sword, when he bumped into Isobel. She praised him for his courage, and blessed his wooden sword. Now that he has a real blade he has insisted that "the Triuri lady" bless it too. Here you can see the focus of the shrine. Petitioners grasp one of the bolts of cloth hanging from the holy relic as they kneel in silent prayer. The three colors represent the three aspects of the Triuri, (from lightest to darkest) Maiden, Mother, and Crone. Which color a petitioner grasps depends on that aspect which presides over what is being asked for. Isobel's petition, when she gets to make it, will be made to the Maiden. Some petitioners leave offerings as well. Here are a goblet of strawberry wine, some custardy dessert dish, and a carved representation of the Consort. (full image) Here's another look at the shrine, from the west, so that you can see the rest of the pretty, pretty wildflowers that are encouraged to grow here.
  8. I was thinking of doing something similar. I have a 'ship in dock' build, and would like to license both. For the commerce property license I think I should only claim the size of the dock area. That seems the most appropriate course.
  9. Minecraft sets really are great for filler parts for MOCs. I remember the early days of Lego Coosuu (now Ideas) when FOLs kept suggesting bricks buckets with parts geared towards large castle building. Some of those weapons are okay for fantasy building. If a few of those animal head parts come in the right colors, remove the prints and they could enhance the architecture of, and landscape around, your castles. The bodies of those tall thin things (don't recall the name) could also work in that capacity. I've done some messing around with them in LDD. I like to get creative with my parts usage.
  10. These are quite lovely. Very well done. The problem is that this should have been posted in Special Themes.
  11. The centaur body is made by Bickforge, one of several aftermarket sellers who's parts are designed to be used with Lego. That print on the centaur is known as Courser, and is not currently available in that body color. Count yourself lucky to have it. The torso with the wave symbol is this one, which someone obviously changed out the arms.
  12. Yeah, she is smaller than my Consort's Duty (Class 4), but she is a good deal longer than my Island Rose (Class3). I've done some more work on her, and hopefully the sail plan makes the class level.
  13. This is my current LDD hull design. I'm wondering if she might qualify as a Class 4 with enough build up.
  14. That's not LEGO, it is from an aftermarket customizer. The carrot bodywear and leaves part come in a number of colors.
  15. We Nestlands Clans Kaliphlin have plenty of pigments for you greenies to make your homes all pretty. And yes, many shades of green. Who wishes to deal?
  16. The Eslandolans have invaded Kings Port, and with us we have brought the Triuri faith. "Geal grádhaich, gorm taic, dearg a' dion."
  17. Proof that other planes of existence are real, and that the teachings of the Crahaish neh Triuri are true. "We are born one hundred and thirty-five times in each of the one hundred and thirty-five planes of existence until the soul becomes one with the Triuri." The Crahaish neh Triuri welcomes you, @bmerrill, and invites you to join the Triuri faithful in worship. There are a number of Wandering Acolytes abroad in the Brick Seas who can be sought out to introduce you to the ways of our faith.
  18. Not really when you consider that two of those covers the same space as three of the 4x5 panel pieces. It also gives additional architectural detail, and it removes the unprotected windows.
  19. This panel in gray would be best for an outer curtain wall.
  20. TRU is in such a tailspin that they probably aren't going to get exclusives anymore, so there is that opening. I wouldn't worry about retail stores not carrying toys based on licenses from Amazon's media productions. The licensing percentage is generally covered by mark-up for Lego. Any large chain stores are not likely to forego profits because of licensing percentage. I doubt Amazon's LOTR will be licensed, though, given that the target audience is expected to be adults.
  21. The whole religious avoidance is totally hypocritical. The very design concept of the Lego advent calendars is about Christ. Not the builds themselves, but the whole one build per day leading up to Christmas intent to the design. I understand most don't bother with that, but for some an advent calendar is a religious ritual. The fact that Lego produces a number of sets catering to that (admittedly benign) ritual is the hypocrisy. In any event, I don't think Series 19 will have a major theme itself. TLM2 series will likely have plenty for those that prefer the regular series. If the other CMF next year is Billion Brick Race, then that too could cater to some of that crowd. For those who are after historical/fantasy figs, do not despair. I have found that some torso prints from previous racing themes work well as armor/gambeson/tunic designs, so there may be some usable gems.
  22. Nicely done, but this belongs in Special Themes.
  23. Hammish put his palm over his face to contain his laughter as he pocketed his coin. He knew full well what was used to make the coins purple. He knew that Willoughby, having swallowed three, will soon have a bulge that needs attending for at least 24 hours. "Please tell me he has a woman in his life," he gasped out between fits of laughter, "Dye made from the fruit of the Owan Tree is potent stuff." With their own smirking, Valentia and Alexander both pocketed their coins.
  24. High Priestess Ylsbeth the Starcatcher of the Crahaish neh Triuri quietly enters the meeting hall. She goes to each of the Colonial Council members, gifting each with a purple coin saying, "With the blessings of the Triuri." She then leaves as quietly as she came.
  25. Not to be confused with the Dark Narwhal. Pretty. Do the Derrs happen to worship the Triuri?
