  1. Commodore Hammish Grei stood to be heard, "As most of you should know, I act as the in-shore commodore for the Crahaish neh Triuri's shipping concern. Word of the deterioration of our defensive structures has reached even my desk. I have consulted with my employers, and they have authorized a one-time donation of 1500 DBs to be used, in their words, for the common defense and welfare of the people." He waited a moment for everyone to register the opportunity provided, then continued, "With your approval I can immediately set about dispersing the funds. The Honorable Guilder has identified the three settlements who's defenses need to be quickly funded to maintain operation. I propose an equal three-way split of 500 DBs to be distributed to Bardo, Weelond, and Nova Terreli." (OOC: Just let me know to which accounts I should make the funds transfer.)
  2. I'm only seeing 100 rows in the January account sheet. I know my listing is supposed to be somewhere below that.
  3. *slow claps for BOBS Leadership* One question: since the Town Bank mechanic is being done away with, will the existing funds be reallocated to the settlements' accounts?
  4. This is part of the reason I think that when a build is registered that the settlement it is associated with should receive a small sum of DBs. If we could also back-date this for all current build registrations that include a settlement, then these new upkeep costs could be managed easily. Is this idea possible in the current system?
  5. This is why I think settlements should get a one time small amount for each build registered at their location. The amount should be smaller than the builder gets for registering, but with all the collective building we do it could go a long way to providing for the economic basis for raids.
  6. Licenses cost, and since mayors no longer receive a stipend, all that cost would fall on the players managing those accounts. I'm just suggesting that a small amount (2-3 DBs) go to the settlements accounts when a build is registered for that location to help defray operating costs.
  7. I have an idea of how to fix this settlement account issue, but I don't know if the EGS automation can do it. The last entry in the Build Submittal Form is that of location. Could it be set so that the settlement listed also receives some small amount of DBs when a build is registered? This would give settlements some capital to license properties, and ships, to generate income to cover upkeep costs.
  8. I understand your concern, but these 'taxes' would ONLY be imposed by the BOBS leadership, and ONLY when the in game monetary inflation becomes too high. The benefit I am suggesting would be so that the players who's accounts get 'taxed' won't feel they have been cheated. The built in time frame limit to the benefit is so that these modifiers don't become too much of a burden. I structured this on how governments' taxes are supposed to work.
  9. An in-game benefit for the 'taxes' intended curb inflation could be BOBS Cards that get applied to all faction/settlement owned, and possibly TC owned, ships for a limited number of turns on a sliding scale. For realism sake these Cards would only apply to ships being used in the T-MRCA, because ships in the A-MRCA are generally considered 'out of contact' with their faction/owner for those turns. Any ships that leave A-MRCA during the time these are applied gets the modifier added, and those that leave the T-MRCA get the modifier removed. Eg: Eslandola player accounts 'taxes' total: 90,000 DB = +1 Crew modifier on all faction/settlement owned ships for 4 MRCA turns Corrington player accounts 'taxes' total: 69,000 DB = +1 Guns modifier on all faction/settlement owned ships for 3 MRCA turns. Oleon player accounts 'taxes' total: 58,000 DB = +1 Maneuver modifier on all faction/settlement owned ships for 3 MRCA turns. Sea Rats player accounts 'taxes' total: 28,000 DB = +1 Range modifier on all faction/settlement owned ships for 2 MRCA turns. TC #1 account 'taxes': 23,000 DB = +1 Range modifier on all TC #1 owned ships for 1 MRCA turn. TC #2 account 'taxes': 19,000 DB = +1 Hull modifier on all TC #2 owned ships for 1 MRCA turn. Scales: For amount of turns- 1 DB - 25,000 DB = 1 MRCA turn 25,001 DB - 50,000 DB = 2 MRCA turns 50,001 DB - 75,000 DB = 3 MRCA turns 75,001 DB - 100,000 DB = 4 MRCA turns 100,001+ DB = 5 MRCA turns For modifier type- 1 DB - 20,000 DB = +1 Hull modifier 20,001 DB - 40,000 DB = +1 Range modifier 40,001 DB - 60,000 DB = +1 Maneuver modifier 60,001 DB - 80,000 DB = +1 Guns modifier 80,001 DB - 100,000 DB = +1 Crew modifier 100,001+ DB = +1 Crew & +1 Hull modifiers ----------------------- The above Artifacts idea could work in a similar way. Artifacts found on A-MRCAs immediately add to the coffers of the A-MRCA, but get transferred to the end point settlement if it has an Art and Culture property. If the end point settlement doesn't have an Art and Culture property, then the nearest same faction settlement with an Art and Culture property receives the Artifact. Settlements can only hold the same number of Artifacts as the amount of their Art and Culture properties, so Artifact transfer can also happen if the end point settlement already has its allotment of Artifacts. An Artifact's effect each MRCA turn would be +[(some number of DBs) x (number of ships that visit the settlement)] to the settlement's account (think tourism income). The duration of the effect would depend on the number of Art and Culture properties at the time of activation: the MRCA turn after the settlement receives the Artifact. Later increases to the Art and Culture properties only increases the number of Artifacts a settlement can hold, not the duration of an Artifact's effects. At the end of the effect, the Artifact is voided, and a settlement can receive a new Artifact in its place. This would add to the incentive to build in that category, and create limited windows of settlement income that shouldn't add too much to inflation. @Maxim I, I already built two museums in story, though I think only one build was large enough to license.
  10. I have had a Royal sized Education build (LDD) in the works for some time now. I was planning to have it licensed by either Eslandola or the settlement, and have it described as a not-for-profit institute.
  11. I think you are getting closer to what's being asked for. One of my older GOH builds might be helpful to look at: Battle at the Ruins of Mehd. Yes, it's a desert ruins scene, but I think a good bit of its style could work for you. Most of the build is relatively simple, even symmetrical, but I took the time to be creative in my littering of the scene with irregularly placed, and loose, parts. I filled the build with figs that were in action, and interacting with their environment. I got creative with camera angles, and cropped most of my shots to exclude as much of the background as I could. Dynamic story helps here, which is something you are pretty good at. I hope my ideas help.
  12. I got a destination's spelling wrong a while back.
  13. Well, there was the Winter Solstice Festival held by the Crahaish neh Triuri. That tends to land many a soldier in trouble because of how the festival gets. I'm betting half were on extra duty because of some 'disorderly conduct'.
  14. All these stories. Good fodder for the Sea Rats. 'Shiners in the US are mostly of Scottish and Irish descent. It's a good thing I made the Truachesh a pre-Roman Celtic type of people. Uisge is the proper Gaelic term for whiskey.
  15. All I was saying was that if you can acquire exclusive rights to the formula, you could license its production with an already legal moonshine distillery.
  16. @Roadmonkeytj & @Laura Takayama, some 'shiners went legal a few years ago.
  17. I wonder what the Order thinks of one of the High Priestesses of the Crahaish neh Triuri retiring in Westface.
  18. I've been clearing out some of my old images. I'll probably have to brush up on using Brickshelf.
  19. The lad seems to 'ave learned some o' the Truachesh distillation method. Those best not be Owan berries he be usin', or he'll be in fer a world o' hurt.
  20. I think this place needs a terracotta producer. Give me a bit.
  21. Great! Now the Crahaish neh Triuri relief operation can begin.
  22. I've stated my opinion. I also will abide by the leadership's decision.
  23. I'm with @Drunknok on this one. There is plenty of time to license these old builds. Spread them out. Look at the settlements they are attached to, and make a plan for their licensing. Settlement levels, trade values, and TMRCA activity would be good factors to consider in what license gets purchased when.
  24. I don't know if this applies under the current rules, but I was able to make a micro ship licensable by including a partial ship vig at minifig scale. For the Puppy Hustler I included an interior hold scene with my character bedding down amongst the crates. @Maxim I bought it for MAESTRO, but this was before the new system, so I don't know if it is currently licensed.
  25. I believe what is needed is that the WTC accept that the actions of its now deceased crew were that of piracy, and that the actions of the soldiers were in lawful defense of Fatu Hiva. Furthermore it would be helpful that a declaration disavowing the actions of the crew be drawn up, and an offer of recompense be made for the cost of the use of ordinance as well as any damage to the settlement. On the side of the equation, it would be helpful to refrain from speculating on what might have happened had the now dead crew made landfall. The perpetrators are dead, and cannot defend themselves against your belief of their intent.
