  1. I never make photos of black models, but what i will do: i will use black matte paper as background, i will shoot with 2 different colored sources of light (cold daylight window and warm led lamp), i will shoot model from maximum possible distance with enough zoom on lenses - it's reducing perspective distortion. Shooting black lego on black background works only if i shooting in RAW, camera itself rarely can properly handle it. Here's not the best example of what i talking about. Reflections from 2 different light sources is very sharp on shiny lego parts, but very blurry on backdrop. And black backdrop doesn't raise overall contrast of picture, so it's possible to catch more subtle details without under/overexposing.
  2. Didumos69, thanks) Sad, that i haven't these wheels and these shocks and old style differentials, but i will build this chassies in my mind anyway.
  3. Wow, cool. Cooler than your cars before) Nice to see that evolution. Great model.
  4. Thanks) Really i have terrible skills at shooting, not amazing at editing. As i see interface of Lightroom, i don't see familiar controls. I thinked that Lightroom it's a standart Adobe "Camera Raw" plugin with many batch and presets possibilities. I make 99% of changes in what i shot in that Camera Raw - before my picture become 24bit bitmap. What i see on your screenshots - is it processing with RAW->BMP? Or it's post processing?
  5. Cool) Congratulations) Lego version arrived already assembled?
  6. Depends on what you like to build and what you plan to do with sets later.
  7. With new wheels and Bucket made from 5x11 panels whole model looks more serious. Great progress. The only thing i noticed - axles with u-joints looks weak without bracing. ...start to reminds that massive 4-axle dump truck by Lucio Switch)
  8. I don't have any special light sources, but i setup each photo individually. Here's how is my workflow look. I choose Auto for white balance and exposure setup, and then adjusting few things manually. In few cases i moving hue slider for red/orange tones because reds always hard to shoot properly. I marked sliders that i moved after Auto setup. On the left is what camera makes with internal JPEG-maker, on the right is processed and cropped RAWs.
  9. Chade, just found your car on rebrickable - great model for this scale. Sad, i don't have rechargeable battery(
  10. I just shooting in RAW and then processing all photos for proper (almost proper) white balance and raising shadows/dimming highlights where needed. I mean all these arrows, substeps, numbers e t.c.) When i was making previous instructions for Blaze Cabrio - i was so tired after drawing all that arrows... And when i realized that 550's instructions will be 5 times larger, i just decided to leave all photos without any marks.
  11. Depending on what you plan to build. While 42038 is source of nice suspension parts and tracks, 42049 giving you 4 wheels, large turntable and more yellow parts. So, if you plan to develop some trucks, cherry pickers and other machinery i vote for Mine Loader. 42038 is a good set, but only if you plan to build tracked vehicles - there's largest assortment of sprockets for that price. For suspension parts better to choose some other sets.
  12. Congratulations to all winners. It was nice contest - i never seen so many excellent models in one place) It was fun to participate, and Tamas90 really deserve grand prize with his very detailed model.
  13. I don't know how well it performs, but it's looks awesome. Adding supercharger with belts - one of cooler detail for me)
  14. @dsharlet: Congratulations with frontpaging and your tags)
  15. @Jonfensu, @brunojj1: Thank you, very nice to hear these words from experienced talented builders) Also, rebrickable is approved, if somebody need it: http://rebrickable.com/mocs/VictorImaginator/porsche-550-spyder
  16. Charbel, thanks a lot for making and sharing this wonderful instructions. My own instructions looks far worse) And it's a great car, in my nearest building plans.
  17. Instructions are done. Here's parts list (1910 total): Instructions available as my FLICKR album or as small sized (~30 Mb) PDF on Mediafire I never planned to sell instructions, but if you enjoy it somehow and wish to reward me - you can donate something I tried to make this instruction not so easy, but clear and fun to follow, if you think that i can improve or change something, i'm open to any suggestions and critics. Have a nice building (or just watching/reading).
  18. Instruction is almost ready. Here's parts list: Sorry, it's a bit chaotic at this moment =) I need few hours more to finish.
  19. Mindblowing thing. I know much about robotics and programming some clever things, but every time i see something like that - it's anyway looks almost unbelievable)
  20. Wow! Incredibly cool mechanics. This thing it's so tiny and so awesome) Jawdropping, really.
  21. Very cool looking car. And fast enough. Model is really looking bigger, than it really is. Roof may look weird for somebody, but for me - whole car looks like tuned Nissan 350Z.
  22. That thing is really massive) Lego2016Lego, can you shoot more detailed view of the suspension?
  23. When i building, i just rush and add more and more parts. When i think that i achieved desired functionality - i start to remove parts or replace complex connections with simpler ones. I never rebuilded my MOCs, changed almost 80% of them while building - yes, but if i rebuild it from scratch - it's another MOC for me.
