I like to watch that evolution of steppers) Always surprising.

Guys, seriously i just can't stop... Rotation is uneven, but it's smaller than flex axles and can handle torque. Also, this solution is more pricese than flex axles - 360 degree at input will be 360 at output.

Flex axle solution. Less parts, less compact, can transfer rotation only in one direction, but can handle surprisingly more torque. Important to connect flex axles with one end coaxial, another end - with offset. Not one axle coaxial, another axle with offset.

Wow, so complex gearboxing actuation thing... mindblowing.- 42 replies

I found that shaft with CV joints works good with parralel arms of same length. Or, at least, ideal 90 degree oriented arms, like rear suspension of my Porsche 550. With various weird angles and different arms length - shaft act weird. Maybe the problem is the precision needed for adjusting multilink suspension, that not achievable easy with LEGO parts/

With given parts that is possible. Not for high-torque applications, not so compact, but it's working. I think some better solution is possible too.

New red clutch gear have one advantage over old ones - they can be used with pins. More observations - old 2L driving ring have sharp triangle teeth, while new 3L - rectangular teeth with smooth end. Same with new and old gears. And old driving ring can be moved freely for about 1mm, while new driving ring can be moved further (about 2mm), but not freely. Fixing clip act as spring forcing returning to center of ridge. Also - endings of driving rings, where driving ring contact with inner surface of clutch gear - they are different too.

Like rear axles at trucks. Two wheels instead of one.

I've done some tests with simple 6-speed gearbox. Tested it with hands at each gear in both directions. All 3 variants generate a lot of resistance when lower (higher) gear selected. Both variants with new 3L driving ring works smooth enough, but in comparsion with old parts - there's not only resistance caused by gear ratios, but also some uneven friction. At least i feel like that. And feels like 3rd variant works without any friction at all, after trying 1st and 2nd. And i didn't notice significant difference between 1st and 2nd variants. Also - 3rd variant works ok just being assembled anyhow. 1st and 2nd variant can completely stall if gears pushed too close to each other.

I may join... Is gearboxes allowed? Is double wheels are allowed?
