  1. That has to be the reddest ship I've ever seen! I'm slowly learning to like red on ships and this would be an unmistakable vessel to encounter. I think it turned out well and the overall form is nice. You've included some good play features again and it all adds up to a fine redcoat vessel. I always thought Eternity was your best ship, and while I still prefer its conventional colors, I think I like this design better. The name is definitely fitting and she's a good addition to the fleet. Keep it up.
  2. This is a lovely composition all the way around. The rocks, plants, beach, water and minifigs all look great and the scene is very nicely balanced. Excellent work.
  3. Interesting story and neat little scene with some good textures. The base is nice and the uneven terrain and loose stones add a lot to the setting. I appreciate the sunset pic, but I don't think it would've been a good choice for the first overall look. Keep it up.
  4. These are both nicely-shaped vessels. The custom hulls turned out well. But as previously mentioned, both would benefit from some sails and rigging. Other than that they're two more fine additions to the fleet.
  5. Excellent intro and welcome to Corrington! Both interiors and both ships are really nice. I like the globestand and all the red in the first interior and the sharply contrasting colors in the second, plus the neat tidy appearance overall. The ships are both beautiful, and the more I see of this red/black/white the more I like it. The dock area is nice too, and the prank is funny if not slightly dangerous! Good work.
  6. Welcome aboard Pimbo and Brickwolf! Glad to have you in Corrington. Ska, hoping your father-in-law makes a full recovery. Life is more important than a couple of freebuilds, so do what you have to do.
  7. This is a nice classic scene, but some more details would be nice as previously mentioned. I think the straight road is fine, but some stones or varying surfaces would be nice, and some grass or other plants would fill out more of the landscape. The rock wall is definitely a good feature. Glad to have you in Corrington!
  8. This is a classic scene, but I also think a few more details would be nice. Adding some waves/surface texture to the water would be a big improvement. But I do like that color blue for water - it just seems fitting for the Caribbean and piracy even though BoBS isn't really based on that location.
  9. Lovely brewery! I like the building style and colors (dark red especially) and the open-back design is really good. The oven and chimney are nice, and the interior details are pretty good as well. It's another fine addition to the growing list of operations. I approve.
  10. Nice layout - nothing huge or terribly fancy but effective all the same. Good publicity for BoBS. Your ship is looking really good. A 100-square-meter layout will be... insane!! Your enthusiasm is remarkable.
  11. Actually... I was just trying to be nice, Mr. Arrogant, and now I'm going to give you my honest opinion... No, really, I kinda like the square mast. Maybe it's not as realistic as round bricks, but I don't think it looks bad, and besides, it's Lego. It works. By the way... Would you permit me to build your final outcome of last month's MCRA? You know, the part after you (and your friends...) had recieved the good news? I assure you I can do it properly...
  12. Seriously, no meeting would ever be boring when one of the attendees has headgear like that! The subject is interesting, and the forced perspective is fantastic. The big grey monument translates really well in that scale. All I recommend is to build the foreground up or on a different base, or conceal the baseplate altogether, to give it better overall depth. (If you look over the men it's perfect, but if you look over the tree and up the left side it looks at odds with the overall illusion.) Other than that, good work!
  13. Cute little scene. The action and posing are really good, and the terrain gives it good depth. The water technique works well for the surf. The minifigs are good, but that's always the case when you include all 3 types of Imperial hat in one scene.
  14. Harumph. I don't like it for one simple reason: you beat me to it! Actually it looks great for that scale. The track (plateway?) and tipper are both good features and the rocky terrain looks nice. And you've put those soldiers/guards to good use; they look just as good now as when you first posted them way back early last year. Incidentally mining happens to fall into one of the broad categories that fascinates me. Good work.
  15. It's small but charming. That juniors panel has become quite popular since this started (at least 3 MOCs now) which is fine by me. It has a very neat clean look overall and the roof is lovely once more. Overall it seems pretty realistic for that time. But that is some seriously red hair!
  16. I've never been a fan of steampunk just because the sci-fi aspect is lost on me. But there have been some neat projects nonetheless and this is one of them. In fact this is one of the better ones I've seen. It's obviously an elephant (no explanation needed!) and I've rather enjoyed looking at all it's bodily features replicated in this manner. The colorscheme is nice, although I suppose that's typical for the genre. The whole thing is really good, but I epecially like the tusks for some reason. The interior features are nice too, and I see you've found a fitting use for the Abe Lincoln hat/hair. And yes, it is very well-armed. Cool project all in all. Good work. P.S. Next I want to see a steampunk !!
  17. Nice lookin' cell. I mean... well, really there's no such thing but... Good way to illustrate the events. The monkey business looks promising. It all makes for an entertaining story. Encore!!
  18. About the cabin: I think the logs were positioned really close and the chink followed the curve of the wood to cover a wider area. But that would be hard to do with Lego. This looks pretty good. I couldn't tell what was behind the carrot in the window with this tiny screen but I had to wonder.
  19. I get you. Details aren't usually good on overview pics, especially WIPs. I was referring mostly to the lighting.
  20. Ooh la la! Corrington's fleet is fast growing! Looks pretty good so far, although some of the details are a bit obscure. Seriously, Oleon is falling behind in shipping... and I thought they were our main adversary...
  21. Let's see now... one man + one woman + 2 boys = ? By jove, you're right, Doc! That does add up to 3!
  22. Fine action scene for sure. It illustrates the event from a good perspective - perhaps better than two complete ships. Topless was also what I first thought after seeing the pics. The old 'figs are classics, but the bare backs always looked silly with printed fronts. I'm still not a huge fan of the newer pirate 'figs - they still have a cartoonish look - but at least the torsos look good from the back too.
  23. Good cast of characters. In terms of part usage I really like Cap'ns Aiden and Silas and the professor. "Tooth"s expression is perfect - where did that head come from? I see he gave up bare-knuckle in favor of a brace of pistolas. Amelia is cute, but doesn't look like one to be trifled with either. There's a Pirates Figbarf thread in the Pirates forum - I wonder if a characters thread might be a good idea here in BoBS. Thoughts, anyone?
  24. White sand is a great idea, and your trees and minifigs look nice. The story is good too... But I also think the cool lighting and blue background make the setting look a bit chilly. Perhaps a vibrant background color like orange or yellow, and a bit stronger lighting, would give it a more tropical feel. I like the water and the decorated base - the black is a nice contrast to the white. Good work.
  25. Lovely cabin, but it might be a tight squeeze for a family of four! The log and chink technique is pretty good. Perhaps a smaller gap would look better but it would also be rather tricky to accomplish. The roof looks great too. You really need some minifigs to bring some life to these small builds, and this family plus accessories does just that. (hint hint folks...) Good work.
