  1. I don't think I quite understand what you're trying to say... Are you saying that because the leak included 2 ( and possibly 3 ) licensed sets that in fact none of them will be flagships? And ah, that makes much more sense the police car being similar to the pullback racers. The prices posted above actually confirm this so, hats off to you sir ;)
  2. I can see this happening. Volvo is a big name and obtaining their licensing just for anything other than a flagship doesn't make sense. I also think the police interceptor and the getaway racer would be small sets in a scale similar to the 42022 hot rod.
  3. Thanks max, and I agree about this set being a good source for mods. I kept the original light structure because I didn't want this to look completely different from the TLC 42043. Also the real truck has the same structure behind the clear plastic headlight covers. But using translucent plates as you said would be a nice idea to experiment with.
  4. Hey, I'd like to share a few pics of modded 42043. Decided to take a break from the Ferrari build and hopefully improve the already stunning Lego 42043 Arocs! So far only aesthetics mods including a Heavily reworked cabin and dumpbed. Hope you guys enjoy! 42043 Arocs Mods by Shu, on Flickr 42043 Arocs Mods by Shu, on Flickr
  5. Because it makes you sound arrogant and condescending. Pointing out the flaws and what can improved is nice, but also pointing out what you like makes you more likeable as a poster/person. With that being said, I agree that it doesn't really look like an Actros to me. However the cabin looks excellent, and maybe you could call it a Merc inspired truck of your own design? Just love how clean the design is :)
  6. Well, according to the rumors it's "Ultimate IP car" instead of ultimate IP supercar. I think that's pretty interesting because all traditional supercar type products from TLC have always been called supercar (8880, 8070 ). That's why I said I'd like to see something along the lines of that Volvo concept car posted a few pages back because I believe there's a good chance we'll see something different this time.
  7. Sorry to add yet another supercar related post jim :) , but I would really like to see something different like that Volvo, or an Aston Martin etc. would be a refreshing change from the mega expensive hyper cars usually made from technic.
  8. Very nice, but the telescopic section in the Fassi F1950 seems rather weak from the picture. How does it hold up in real life? And hows the lifting ability like with telescopic section fully extended? Looking forward to actual pictures
  9. I thought it was IP, not LP. IP would mean intellectual property so that makes sense. And you sure do seem like dreamer I seriously doubt we'll ever see TLC making an RC car with a remote controlled gearbox and doors. These days we don't get proper gearboxes even in manual models. ^Max, lime would actually be great. I agree, anything but red would make me happy.
  10. 1:8th scale means it's most likely going to be an F1 car. Think about it. The only 1:8 scale cars from TLC have been F1 cars I don't really see TLG making a 1:8 super car because the complexity/ part count is likely going to be too high....
  11. Ugh stop it man you're killing me! It could be the modern day 8455 with all those pneumatic functions
  12. If that's the case there's going to be 3 licensed products. I highly doubt that'll happen. But I hope and pray that the 42053 Volvo EW160E rumor is true. That would be amazing.
  13. I don't think that approach would work for the arocs, Because it's absolutely packed with stuff. It's just too complex for that style of building.
  14. Erm, It doesn't have pendular suspension. It has two independent live axles at the front and a bogie axle at the back.
  15. Sorry, I just checked again and it is indeed 296 mm. This is what happens when you wake up at 5:00 am to start building.
  16. Yeah, I filed a report through bricksnpieces last night. I might actually finish building it without those parts anyway. By 296 mm I actually meant 296 cm, and those are the hoses that supply air to the pneumatic actuator that controls the clamshell. So not a lot functionality is lost. I do have spare pneumatic hoses but I don't want to cut them just for a few days until the replacement parts arrive....
  17. Ugh, seems like I've gotten two 216mm hoses instead of the two 296 mm ones. Should I pause the build until I get this sorted out with TLC or go ahead and use some of my older hoses? ( really don't feel like using old pieces in a brand new set, but then again I can't wait to finish it either )
  18. Really amazed how rigid the chassis is, especially considering that they used 0 center frames in it. And I absolutely love the steering/front axle setup. Really clever, smooth and reliable.
  19. Well, the Arocs is an off-road truck. The 8258 is much better looking IMO, I love how clean the cab is on that set.
  20. Well as Horace T said, you could use 3/4 pins to attach the pulley wheels and keep using the 4 axle with stop.... And where exactly does wheel rub against? Can you change a few of those pieces around ? they will not. I don't know why you'd want to anyway, IMO those are the ugliest wheels ever made by TLG and they'd be horribly out of scale.
  21. Interesting, I prefer them in LBG because actual truck wheels don't have contrasting rims ( as far as I am aware). I think flipping the wheels inside out and having the wheel covers done in LBG would look better... something to experiment with once I get my hands on this beast. 3 more days and the wait is over....
  22. Yes! Great minds think alike Beautiful. BTW does anyone know why TLG decided to use DBG pulley wheels for the rims instead of LBG ones? It makes no sense to me....
  23. I was very impressed by your hyster forklift so I have high expectations for this mod. Looking forward to it ;) P.S is it all pneumatic?
  24. Exactly, except for the white and red front bumper. Black cab with a red stripe running through it, DBG front bumper, windshield frame and front grill.
