  1. Very concept car like. I love it! I'm not sold on using steering racks as side skirts though.. but the overall profile is absolutely beautiful.
  2. ^ I think that looks superb! Are you using natural light?... Sorry about the size of the picture Jim. I'll re size it. I laughed way too hard at this I'll take another picture tomorrow ( or the day after) in RAW, using center metering and f/2.8. Since this is the Technic photography thread and I've made a bunch of posts with no photos in them, here's my attempt to redeem myself. This is my favorite picture of a Lego MOC probably ever. Disclaimer - Neither the MOC or the picture is mine. It belongs to the incredibly talented Malte Dorowski. Check out his Flickr here.
  3. Really nice review. Outstanding photos, and while I appreciate the studio shots for their detail, I think the truck looks better in the outdoors shots. The steering system looks really clever, especially because it's so simple yet ( seems) very reliable. My attempts at building link-steering systems for a truck did not fare so well. Overall, I'm very, very pleased with this set and will be a day 1 buy for me. Just beautiful Also Jim, the purpose of those flexible rubber connectors is to allow the upper pivot points of the 4 steering arms to slightly move in towards each other when the suspension is compressed. I don't know if that made sense, I'm not very good at explaining. The rear suspension would not work with completely rigid pivots.
  4. really? thanks lol. And yeah, that shouldn't be a problem with the new Apple photos app. There's a really nice blemish remover tool ( or whatever you call it) in it. I literally have no idea, I'm a huge newb when it comes to photography. I will definitely try that, thanks. Wow, that picture is ridiculously nice. And comparing yours to mine it's quite obvious that my picture is overexposed and therefore less "crisp". I will mess around a little with post processing tomorrow. Thanks for the advice.
  5. I'm using the timer, and that's exactly my problem. It only looks OK. I want it to look great
  6. Okay, I've been playing around with different colored backgrounds and camera settings. I think my problem is the lack of a proper lighting system and mostly a tripod. This was taken using a makeshift stacked-boxes tripod and natural evening sunlight. I think resizing it and uploading it to flickr ruined most of the quality, but I'd appreciate some criticism. 7. Wow, I have to say you've outdone yourself on this one. I agree with it being better looking than your Alfa and it looks stunning. Thank you for sharing this MOC with us! BTW, before the announcement of TC7, was this like a concept car of some sort?
  8. Thanks OzShan! Really appreciate the compliments I wanted to thank you but I didn't want to make an empty post either, but I don't have anything substantial to show you guys except for this door that I've been working on. I wanted nice clean lines and panels that fit together seamlessly. After a few attempt I came up with this and I think it looks okay. The downside is that it requires panels to be connected at really odd angles so the inside of the door looks busy.... I could cover it up by stacking liftarms but then the door will be too wide. I don't want to cover up the inside using a plate because the studs will stick out. And there aren't big enough tiles to the do the job
  9. I use manual and adjust shutter speed/f-value accordingly. I don't have a tripod yet so I shoot at ISO 320.
  10. I am absolutely in love with the GTHO. Stunning! It just might be the first MOC I buy instructions for.
  11. I have the same problem, my photos are rather grainy. I have a pretty good DSLR but I use natural light too so I think that's our issue here.
  12. I am simply lost for words. Amazing just doesn't cut it. Eagerly waiting for more updates. Good luck with sorting out the drive train issues!
  13. Such a small change that will likely make a big difference. Thanks ! Thanks fellas and I agree the lights were weird but I changed them. Don't forget the WIP tag
  14. Thanks to both of you and Leocorno you need to have more faith in yourself. I think from an engineering standpoint you did a great job on the Huracan, especially considering your limited collection of pieces. Also styling-wise it was a marked improvement over the P1. Keep going, I'd really like to see more MOCs from you
  15. Just brilliant. Thank you for sharing
  16. Progress pic.. 458 Speciale WIP by Shu, on Flickr Experimental front end... still not sold on it but I think it's a good base to work on... btw that sculpted hood is proving to be a real pain to work with.
  17. Hmm, I don't think it looks ugly. I mean trucks are supposed to look ugly to a certain extent, and I think he captured the look rather perfectly. So far, this is one of my favorite MOCs this year. Superb work OP
  18. That's actually a pretty great idea. I'll most probably do that
  19. I feel exactly the same way. I'm intimidated to post my creations here but at the same time I want to share them with people and get some feedback on them too. Just wish there was a sub-forum for beginners or newbies...
  20. Well actually, if you look at the Arocs' suspension you'd see that there are two sets of parallel steering arms to keep the axle horizontal. It's a pretty crucial detail that you shouldn't ignore.
  21. You're right. He's going to need another pair of parallel steering arms/liftarms. it won't be a problem as long as you use soft spring dampers but for a full sized truck, those are not going to work. The hard spring ones will almost certainly buckle under pressure.
  22. You could've just said that you don't think it's going to work instead being unnecessarily rude. To OP, this is certainly an interesting project, and while I highly doubt it's ever going to fly I want to see where it goes. Best of luck to you
  23. Thank you, and I apologize for failing to notice that. I take my second point back.
