  1. It is truly astonishing. One of the best MOCs I've ever seen. You'd certainly get my vote if I was a judge   Good luck in the competition.
  2. Time and again you prove that you're the best when it comes to Lego technic cars. No offense to anyone else, but Crowkiller's cars just have the perfect balance of gaps and smooth panelling in the right places to create wonderful flowing lines. Superb work!
  3. this is turning out to be a superb build. So clean and realistic. I would love to see a view of the front now, since I think the official Arocs bumper could be improved upon a fair bit. Also, I'd like to folllow you on flickr if you don't mind. Would appreciate a link to your page :)
  4. Wow, just wow. Can't wait to see progress.
  5. I agree with this. I think the wheelbase is too short. But looks great otherwise. Am I correct in assuming you're building a 911 RSR?
  6. What I love about your reviews is that I can make myself a cup of tea, sit down on my sofa, relax and enjoy the video. It's more than just a review to me, it's a nice relaxing event after a busy day. You bring up a good point about the crane, IIRC the prelim images had the model with a much better crane but somehow they decided against it. I'm thinking it has to do with the maximum weight those PTOs can handle.. because other than that it doesn't really make any sense.
  7. Ugh. So beautiful it hurts. Yet it's not a mess of panels on top of one another. Perfect.....
  8. One thing that stands out to me about this build is how clean it is. Being a neat-freak myself I appreciate this build a lot. Good job! PS very cool gearbox mechanism.
  9. I think it's better, but I don't like the gap between the door and front fender... The size isn't a problem, I think the profile looks beautiful and the size of the wheelbase looks just about perfect. Also about the front, I think the bottom air intake is too big relative to the main grille. In the real car its about the half the size but in the model they seem about the same size. Also if you can find a way to make the top of the main grille square, that'd be perfect :)
  10. Here's the link for the dropbox file, the single bush wasn't in my LDD inventory so I replaced them with red double bushes. So when you're building replace all red double bushes with single bushes. https://www.dropbox.com/s/lq66nxwnw71dih3/shifter.lxf?dl=0
  11. Thanks MRP_ ! I cannot take pictures of it now because it's already inside another sub assembly as of now, but I'll learn my way through LDD ( doesnt seem difficult at all) and post a file soon.
  12. Video's up! I got my sister to operate it so you can see it being used by someone who's inexperienced with Legos, and you can be sure I'm not babying it to look better than it actually is
  13. See, this is an instance where your no-compromise perfectionism pays off. It's absolutely beautiful as well as extremely functional. Absolutely amazing!
  14. Thats an astonishing number of box frames! Eagerly waiting to see more progress :)
  15. Thanks guys! I can try to build an LXF file, but I'm a complete newb at LDD. I'll do a video next week since I'm out for the weekend. :) Well, if by functionality you mean pulling a paddle to rotate an axle by 90 degrees, yes it has the same functionality :) But it works differently, using one knob-wheel and bionicle teeth. ( Porsche's uses 3 knob-wheels, and works on a different principle)
  16. Hi everyone, Since a lot of my projects go unfinished I thought it would be a good idea for me to start an ideas thread where I post random things I build that I think are cool. I'd like to kick off with a flappy paddle system I developed to be used in my next MOC (if it ever gets finished! ). Goal was to build a clean, reliable and sturdy system with rubber bands hidden from sight. Uses Eurobricks member Didumos69's ingenious 90° limiter. 17. I agree with you. I'm not really a fan of the people who frequent jalopnik/gizmodo.
  18. Idk if you guys have seen this, but gizmodo readers really seem to not like the looks of this.... http://gizmodo.com/legos-new-2-700-piece-porsche-911-is-a-work-of-art-1772847047
  19. Okay I'm taking a few moments to decipher this puzzle.. Maybe my eyes are deceiving me but it totally looks like the steering column is hanging midair?! I have a few questions about the paddle shift mechanism too. As far as I can tell, the orange bionicle tooth moves a yellow knobwheel and is connected to the 3L thin liftarms usign one of these but wouldn't that create backlash in the other shift while engaging one of them? also it's simple yet brilliant how you ensured that the knob wheels turn in 90 degree increments all the time, this MOC is just full of innovation
  20. I know!!...sigh. I reported it anyway.
  21. Still off topic, but I agree 100%. Superb looks as well as lots of clever functions, like the link steering system and the rear suspension. Now that's a proper flagship and I had zero doubts about spending $250 on it.
  22. That gearbox is just beautiful, it's simple when you think of it have two gearboxes like this but I would've never been able to come up with that switching mechanism, it is absolutely ingenious. How long did it take you come up with that, if I don't mind asking? My only issue with this is that the rear axle is mounted so high up that it won't work with 1:10 scale wheels. But the same principle can be applied to a mid chassis mounted gearbox as well I suppose.. I'm in the same boat. I want to buy it for the parts but the set is simply not worth it.
  23. The pictures, just wow. How?! Great review, as usual. But the gearbox friction issue that Anio ran into doesn't seem to be a concern... if that's the case, I'll let the occasional jamming of the drivetrain slide. It's virtually impossible to make a 100% reliable shifting mechanism with these parts ( from what I've experienced, that is, feel free to prove me wrong). Seriously disappointed by the front suspension, I mean what is that?! it's absolutely 0% like the macpherson strut suspension of the real car. I've never seen a suspension system where the damper was fixed to the upper wishbone behind the pivot point. All those yellow 5L axles...why? Although I do love the "marriage" part of the build. Thats cool.
  24. +the koenigsegg is a lot more densely packed.
