60010 Fire Helicopter Variant roaming around?
scottwb2010 replied to TTTbionicle's topic in LEGO Town
Hi I built this last Friday and the one I have is the one with the snot on the side. Looking at the 2 instructions ie the ones from the helicopter I built (studs on side) and the ones on the lego sight which have the snot, the helicopter with the snot has 2 water cannons, 1 on each side compared to the one without the studs that only has one water cannon. What is also strange is the model shown on the lego site is the one with studs. -
I don't think we will ever know how GRogall gets his info, but who cares lol as long as it keeps coming. Keep the info flowing GRogall cheers

Fantastic street scene you've created there LT. You realy know how to do great stickers.

Like your style of review Multiverse, giving us bite size chunks and wanting more! lol I will have to wait till end of March I guess to pick this up, as spent my money on a holiday in Feb. Keep up the great review, very detailed.

Built this helicopter last night and although not the prettiest looking helicopter ever it looks a bit more realistic than the previous fire helicopter. A bit chunky at the sides but ok overall. My son said he peffered the forest fire helicopter then I showed him the winch with firefighter hanging on. Think that changed his mind! lol. Like many of the 2013 fire series it actually has something for the firefighters to do which adds to the playability.

Thanks for the comments 'tomdobs55'. Feel free to borrow any idea's. To me thats the whole point of people uploading photo's, ie 1 - to show off your build and 2 - to give others ideas that they can borrow and inspiration . IMO PS what is bookshelf?

Thanks 'Captain Settle'. When I finish the 3 bay one it will be even grander. I hope. lol Cheers 'Bighappysmiles'. A few have commented on having one bell tower. This is my plan for my 3 bay station, but may try it out on this one to see what it looks like.

Yoou've got to go with the Fire Brigade first. As already been stated it will probably be the first to dissapear, so that is one reason alone for getting it first. If you are planning on getting many modulars, you will kick yourself in future if you don't get this before it dissapears and you pay high price on the secondary market a year or so down the line. Another reason for getting the fire brigade is it is a good one to start with, before the newer building techniques are introduced in the latest models plus it is a great build and has play ability also.

Nice little street scene. Look forward to any additions you make.

Cool way you have built this Co-op building LT to incorporate the steel frame work.

Thanks 'Luke Styler'. It is basically done with 2 sets and extra LBG bricks and black plates. Cheers 'Psykater' Thanks 'Missing Brick'. This was my first go at MODing a set so my skills wern't up to much, but I felt it was better to try and keep some symitry from the roller door up. For my 3 bay WIP MOD, I have something more like what you suggest. Hopefully get progressing this soon. Cheers again! Thanks 'rriggs'. This is staying a 2 bay station, but the numbers relate to the engines based there. 1 denoting a Rescue Pump and 4 denoting the Emergency tender.

Very good review 'Plate' I like Aanchir when I first saw picture of this set thought that the mechanism on the roof was for the flames to rotate to give a real fire effect. The house is fine and at least gives the fire crews something to put out. Im not a fan of the fire engine though. Im a bit dissapointed that TLG have made all 3 fire engines this time around to have the same style ladder. To me this just doesnt go with this smaller van style engine. imo

Thanks LT. The hose used here can be dried when rolled up, so no need to hang from the tower unlike the old canvas hose had to be. A Tower is a futre project tho! Thanks 'Artifex'. The minifigs enter the Junior Officers room and The BA servicing room room through the doors leading from the appliance hall near to the rear wall. They are DBG 1x6x4 with Trans blue glass although the one in the BA service room is open in the photo. There is also a door to the outside in the rear wall in the BA room.

Great MOD of the Palace Cinema "Missing Brick". I think many had hoped for more seating and a balcony in the original when it was first announced. Youve certainly got peoples inspiration going to MOD thier own.

Great Find CM4S. This will be a good update of the previous city corner, but I feel that the Crane is a bit misplaced in this set, although it can be used to top off the monument, but would be better as a stand- alone, as some may like to purchase a couple of these sets to extend the bike shop like the pics from the show and also to get extra buses, but will be put off doing this because of the crane. IMO

Hi After taking a while to find a good time to upload this, as there have been a few good variations of this Modular plus the Coastguard version and after several requests, I thought now was a good at time as any to upload my version of a 2 bay MOD of the 10197 Fire Brigade. I built this over a year ago and realy only some internal details to finish it off. The building has been extended to the rear also to accomodate the fire engines based there. As my trucks are 23 studs long I needed 25 studs clearance and I wanted a bit of space all around so I built this station on a 48stud long baseplate and the applaince hall floor is 32 studs long using 2 x 16 stud tiles. There is even enough room for the engine from 7945 if it was stationed there. Front View - Date of when Station was extended Rear View - On roof you can see the enclosure for the pole drop from the room and this goes direct to the Ground floor. Side Side (Junior officers room) Side (Breathing Apparatus servicing room) Appliance Hall - Engine Room Upper Floor Rear (clockwise - Dorm, Pole Drop, Lecture Room, Senior Officer's office, Bathroom) Upper Floor Front - Not much different from the original but extra sofa and a table with chairs Hope you liked it and comments are always welcome.

Winter Village: First Aid / Search & Rescue cabin
scottwb2010 replied to soundwave_sw's topic in LEGO Town
Thats a brilliant entry you have made there. So many different area's catch your attention. Wish TLG would bring out a yellow rescue helicopter. The skido is magic. Well done on that part. I like the interior also but maybe if I was the casualty I wouldn't be too happy if the rescuer brought his skidoo into the hut and started servicing it lol. The X-ray with back light is an ingeneous bit of detailing. Good luck with your entry.- 24 replies

Great model of this Ventilation truck Farnhiem! I like the way you have incorporated the scissor lift on the fan. In real life these must be pretty noisy beasts as the domestic size ventilation fan are. None of this type of Fire Engine in domestic UK Fire services
-
This is a very nice Fire Rescue Truck. I like the way you manage to detail them in 4 wide. The crane is a neat piece of work and I like the tyres you use. They go with the 4 wide retro style. Keep up the good work.

Nice work. Car is pretty good.

A lovely little fire station that will fitt in with all the other winter builds. Nice detail and the clock tower is excellent.
