Great adaptation Badsneaker of Jamie's Town Hall. I like the way you have done the windows. It fits and look realy good, plus it works out cheaper and easier than using the garage doors. I still think this is better than the new Modular Town Hall. Well done.

Thanks BrickBox for uploading your LDD file of this fire engine. Hope to build a couple of these at least if I can work out all the parts.

Well LT that's a simplke but great MOD of the Police motorbike. Paramedic motorcycles becoming more common in city centre/urban area's for faster response. Maybe about time TLG brought one out but I think we know there is not much appetite for a medic theme from them due to a lack of Hospital/medical theme stuff apart from the long awaited arrival of the ambulance and summer arrival of an overdue hospital

Hi BrickBox what a great return from your lego break. Its one of the best European Fire engines Ive seen done in lego and has plenty of equipement. As you say it would be a Rescue Pump here in the UK. I realy like your hydraulic power pack and tools. I guess this is based on Weber hydraulic tools? Scott

I say get it then save up again for town hall if money is the issue. As once the FB is discontinued, you will only regret not getting it. Its a great build. I got a couple of them to make a bigger Fire station.

Thanks to the Mod who got rid of the P in front of review for me. Aanchir re the stickers, the transparent ones on the window are ok. Its just the rest that are paperish. In that I mean it's like they have forgotten to put the gloss cover over them and appear matt/bland compared to other stickers on sets. I got the previous ambulance a while back as I really liked it and need an ambulance. It is still a good set but this new one is much better. The previous one is 14 studs long where as this one is 20 studs. Here they are for you all to compare.

Great review Redhead 1982. This is a welcome to any lego town/city especialy in this greem age. This was on my list of 'to get' from this city theme and will probably get one if not two for a couple of reasons. I need a forklift truck and will mod at least one like what cimddwc has done with his and had a hiab/palfinger style crane.

Hi. Many thanks for the kind comments everyone. I enjoyed doing this first review even though it took me a while and a few goes before I got it to upload. Bootz - Thanks also for the comment on the Fire House. Its the first of a couple of mod's I am doing on that set Redhead 1982 - You would think with all the minifigs there are that lego would put more importance towards their health these days. I will be building a hopital soon. _biG_fM_ - Yeh I noticed just aftet I uploaded it that I had put a P infront of review. I have asked a Moderator if they can change it as I can't in edit. costy - As the 'tiger' says, the speedo thing is meant to be a defibrillator. lightningtiger - You probably noticed that I have copied your style of review. Hope you don't mind. Why re-invent the wheel JackJonespaw - I am only changing may medics to look more like my local ambulance crews. The set minifigs will end up working in the control room/dispatch centre beside the fire control/despatch operators Macoco - I too like this ambulance compared to the previous one. Thanks again people.

Hi. This is my first go at doing a set review so go easy with the comments if you have them. Apogies for the standard of photo's but Lego's my hobby, not photography! Released - January 2012 Parts - 199 Minifigures - 3 Price - £14.99/US$19.99 Where better to start than with the box. We have seen the front now the back. There are the usual actions shots, including the cyclist wearing his helmet whilst riding the bike but when he crashes the helmet comes off exposing his hair. And also on the back is the detail of the number of bags within a pictures of what sets are in the theme line. The side shows the minifigures contained in the set. More on these later. So whats in the box? 2 x bags Instructions which start of by explaining what stage each bag leads to and ends with a photo of the sets available in this theme line. And finally the stickers. Poor quality on this model in my opinion OK bag 1 contents Within bag 1 we have the minifigures. The cyclist having the familiar check shirt seen in many sets before but the ambulance crew with equipment, have a change in uniform from the usual all white, to the red with reflective stripes and the medical badge on the rear. Also in bag 1 you get the stretcher. From the photo you can compare the difference from the new to the old one, although the same size. During the build you notice the use of 1x2 grille tiles instead of 1x2 plates And bag one complete Bag 2 conents Bag 2 done and ambulance completed plus street scene with fire hydrant, traffic light and bin Spare parts Now that the set is built lets go over it. Instructions easy to follow and it was an easy build. First impression is that it is quit a big ambulance when you compare it beside the fire engine in the pic. but it has to be this size to do its function. ie Ambulance technician/paramedic in rear with casualty It could have been better if there wasn't a gap in the bulkhead between driver and rear but thats maybe just me, but atleast driver and assistant can comunicate to each other. The equipment sits either side of the ambulance persons seat. I like the instruments on the bulkhead too, as seen in previous photo. The stickers with set to me are poor quality. More paperish than the gloss style we are use to and lowers the quality of the set. The grille is a sticker and there is a sticker for the dash board too. There is plenty of play ability with this set as the rear roof lifts up so you can get the ambulance person into the rear seat and the tailgate lifts to get the stretcher in and out. All we need now is a new hospital as this ambulance is too big to get under the canopy outside the ER/A&E dept if it could even get up the ramp!! I will probably buy 1 or 2 more of these as currently building a Modular hospital and this ambulance will go well with the anticipated hospital to be released later on in 2012. I will mod this ambulance by changing the red plates to light green and change the medics uniforms to those of the soldiers from the Toy Storey theme but have their faces from this set, only to make them and the ambulance more resemble the Scottish ambulance Service. Design 9/10 Minifigs 9/10 Only as I will be changing uniform Price 10/10 Quite alot of pieces with 3 figs for the price Playability 10/10 There is loads of medical scenarios you can have with this set Hope you enjoyed and maybe a bit photo intensive but need to justify the review. Please feel free to comment.

Thanks for clarifying that HighFlyer. Thats what I thought you meant but for one horrible moment I thought maybe lego had decided to change the contents slightly which would have thrown my MOD plans out abit.
-
Hi. Yeh I posted last night that i thought there was 1x1x2 windows on the balcony. Dont think our eyes were playing tricks on us. So could be a new part!
-
HighFlyer, What do you mean by recieving a new inventory of Fire Brigades?
-
The more you look at this the more you seem to notice. At the balcony where the "mayor" is standing at the glass door, is that new windows too the side which appear to be 1x1x2?
-
I was about to comment on the amount of people viewing this thread. Never seen this amount before. The Town Hall looks good. Interior shots will be interesting.
-
If it is to be Jamie's or another version of a Town Hall, then to give it some real stature, I think it would have to be on a 48x48 base plate, which would easily fit in the standard modular box. I can't see a problem going away from the usual 2 x 16x32 base plates (32x32) as with the last modular, the Pet shop, you can easily split them into 2 seprate 16 wide buildings so we already we can have different sizes in our modular theme. I'm currently doing a couple of Mod's on the Fire Brigade modular, one with a 48x48 base plate the other using 6 x 16x32 baseplates to have a surface area of 64 wide by 48 deep and both are easy to connect to other modulars as the link pins go in the same place as all other modulars and it allows side windows beyond the standard modular size.

Wonderful creation. This would fit perfectly in a winter village/ski resort.
-
All you need now is a hose from the truck to feed the monitor.
-
Maybe a large clock similar to that on the Cars theme "Big Bently Bust Out" which is a sicker but all the same a bigger clock than the printed 2x2 tile currently used in builds.
-
Fantastic job you have done there. A lot of time and patience let alone money dedicated to this. Detail is great alround. Like a few other I also like the mod you have done on the recycle truck. Much more realistic. Will copy this idea from you as not skilled enough to recreate a sloping street. Great job. Scott
-
Thanks for the review Brickviller. Like many, it could do with another Firefighter and seems strange it has less equipment than the atv. This truck is easy moded and I would bring the controls for the monitor nearer the driver, remove the panel behind the drivers seat and put a turntable under the seat so when the driver is in position they can turn around and operate the water monitor. And where the controls were originally, put in some blue bricks to replicate water tanks. Job done. Scott

That would have been an option alot of us would have liked to have seen. Who knows maybe that is still to come or the next time they decide to do a medical theme. Would be better than the mining sub theme in my opinion.
-
At last the long awaited Hospital/medical centre. Although maybe not as hoped for but many times better than the previous hospital. The helicopter is quick big compared to last one. Looks a scaled down version of the police helicoper 3658 and fire helicopter 7206. The paramedic unit is very similar to the police dog van from the previous police station 7744. Will get this set all the same. Will also get the advent calander mainly for the fire look out post and firefighters. Hopefully better than this years offering. Finally not too sure about the trucks (tractor units) that pull the trailers on the mines sets. Look a bit square and bland but thats my opinion. Happy lego 2012.

Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
scottwb2010 replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
Bearing in mind the scale/size of the winter village buildings theme, would this theatre not be a bit small or or out of scale with rest of the buildings if made to accomodate many minifigures?
