  1. Welcome lego-2013. They are great buildings you have made there. I realy like the one in picture 2. The dark red trim realy stands out and the designs reminds me of Austrian buildings.
  2. That is what is so good about this forum and this thread on the new modular cinema in particular. There are those who love/like it to, those who don't like it, then there are the still undecided who are sitting on the fence for the moment. It's all healthy banter with lego fans putting over their point of view on this building and what they would do differently. Long may it last. Don't we just love the release of a new modular???
  3. Thats a great little homage to the Australian Bush Firefighters LT! They are having a tough time just now but doing a stearling job. I would like to see you do this fire truck! What was the crack with Ricecracker that you were keeping him pleased? Youshould maybe also have your own Mannum Fire Dept if you don't already have one.
  4. I couldnt agree more with the need for a glass piece for this window. It kind of looks silly when this arched window without glass is on top of the 1x2x2 windows with glass IMO as is the case with this build.
  5. Hi Kristel. I had heard the quote used to comment on a real building years ago and had to look up the meaning of bijou myself!
  6. Nice review. I think I like this Fire Helicopter over the previous forest fire one as it looks more realistic IMO. I like the rescue winch on it but it kind of lacks the fire fighting capability with a poor water cannon. As this has a recue winch I wonder how the new Coastguard helicopter will look. Maybe lego fire and Lego coastguard have come to a mutal agreement, Fire will do inland rescue and Coastguard the sea area.
  7. What a great build youve done there Kristel. Compact and Bijou! I like the way the 2 colours complement each other and make each other stand out. I also love the ornate features on the facade aswell. Well done.
  8. Yeh and what is the girl in red dealing for $100 on the street outside the cinema? lol And in the auditorium when they are seated, is the star that arrived in the car telling the chauffer to take his hat off cause she can't see sitting behind him in the back row and does the photographer in the back row look a bit like JR Ewing from Dallas??
  9. Well now that the first pic has been available for a week and more made available today its time to comment! I think like a majority of people, we were expecting or more hoping for an Art Deco Cinema, similar to Sonic Starlights, as going by the rumours it was to be a cinema, and a straight front build and not corner build although again rumours were it would be a corner. But as some have already commented, we have been spoiled by the high standard of Cinema MOC's that are out there and TLG has to build within a price affordable to most so that rules out something costing 500+ uk pounds. Speaking of price and going with comments already made, this could be around 100 uk pounds, a price closer to the first 3 modulars and putting in a price range of more people than say 140 - 170 uk pounds. Anyway I quite like this building even though the high expectations have dampened some people’s enthusiasm which seems to happen when every modular comes out, but some rally round as it grows on them the more pictures they see of it. I won’t comment on the car, but Im a bit disappointed by the auditorium. I thought it might have had more seats and a separate projector room and no windows!! But then again I havn't seen pics of the inside of the cinema this is based on. It would have been good to have red tiles out front representing the "Red Carpet", but a corner build and door doesn’t lend itself to this. And maybe the star actress could have had an evening dress on for the "premier" performance and a separate usher/ette for the popcorn stand to free up the projector operator. But then it’s down to costs. Plus sides, I like the roof technique, colour scheme and stars on the pavement. I will get this set as I like it and even if I wasn’t too amused by it, it would be silly not to have with the other modulars. Finally I personally think TLG should have used the corner build for a Bank or Post office and had the cinema on a straight building.
  10. Nice find LT. Pity whoever set up the display, didn't take the time to get the Firefighter from set 60005 to put their helemt on the right way round!!! lol
  11. Maybe TLG show follow suit. Sounds like a good idea as road plates don't always line up like you want them to depending on your layout
  12. Hi Vincent. What I was meaning was, that there is a 16 wide road plate. It is clearly visible in the second picture. 1 x full 32 wide road, 1 x 16 wide makinfg up the 48 wide size of the GE mod.
  13. Nice MOD of the Grand Emporium. I personally dont think the original sizeof the GE, 32 wide, does it justice so your 48 x 48 versions shows it in true "Grand" size which it needs to be IMO. Great double escalator. Do you cut your road plates in half to make 16 wide versions?
  14. This is an Awesome build Cecilie. Being a skier I just love this and wish I had the resources to build one like this. Does the T-bar lift work? Keep up the great work.
  15. I guess with fire engine 60002 TLG have tried to cover both the European and American style in one engine with the european roller shutters style lockers and the American exposed pump controls on the side although the new ladder peice looks more American whereas the engine in Fire Station 6004 has the cabinet style lockers more akin to American style engines.
  16. OK Ricecracker. I will probably do my topic like this one and just keep adding the stations to it when I'm ready. I hope mine showed a good reflection of the European Fire appliances/apparatus.
  17. Neat little scene there "LT". I guess you must keep your local lego stockist in business with all your builds?
  18. Nice bit of work for a Sunday castor-troy. This is a great 16 wide creation and nice detail.

    Lego IKEA

This is one mega MOC. Very well done.
  20. Great Post Office. Love the interior detail also. Many people hope that TLG will bring out a City Post Office but I hope they bring out a Modular one like yours, as these rimind me more of the big main post office building you get in bigger towns. Thats the beauty of being able to MOC is suppose. Keep up the good work.
  21. Great work Hoexbroe. The interior is absoloutly excellent. That Jukebox is amazing.
  22. Many thanks for the kind comments so far. It's really appreciated. "LT" I am going to be uploading pics of my "Scotsburgh FD" stations in a separate topic but not sure wether to do them altogether or individually
  23. Hi. I thought now that the photos are out for the 2013 City “Fire” theme, that I would post my own “Scotsburgh” Fire Dept Appliance pics. Some appliance may look familiar to you as they are based on other people’s designs and credit is given at each appliance to their design. First the pumping appliances. The dept is currently running Mercedes Econic and MAN pumping appliances. These are a combination of either a Rescue Pump (RP) ie one that carries Hydraulic Rescue equipment and has No.1 in its call sign and runs as the 1st appliance on Stn or just a standard pump or commonly known as a Water Tender Ladder (WrL) ie without Hydraulic gear and has No.2 in its call sign and runs as the 2nd appliance on a 2 pump station. Mercedes Econic Pumping Appliance is based on this design http://www.eurobrick...wtopic=60950= I still haven’t decided on the final striping and bumper configuration yet as you can see with the difference from the 2 Econic’s posted and also the ladder position, either in the middle or to the side on the roof. The MAN is taken direct from BrickBox’s instructions and the link to that is here http://www.eurobrick...wtopic=65465= The department runs with a couple of Aerial appliances for High Reach capability. The Aerial Appliances have the No.3 in their call sign. This TL is on the same make of chassis albeit longer as the Hydraulic Platform from 7945. It’s design is based on that of ImLost One of the Departments specialist appliances is this Emergency Tender, based on the Mercedes Econic and are similar in body to the Pumping appliances but have Yellow stripping. Theses applainces have the No.4 in their call sign and carries a wide range of heavy rescue eqpt and water rescue eqpt including the inflatable boat on the roof. This appliance would be similar to a Rescue Squad truck in America. For larger Incidents the Department requires a greater degree of Command and Control and this is when the Incident Command Unit attends. The ICU is based on the chassis of the TL from 7208 and has the No.5 in its call sign. Comments are welcomed and more pics can be seen here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=515199
  24. I was kind of thinking along the same lines that it maybe the drivers wearing them but on 60004 the FF tackling the fire has it on. But then again its just a photo and a kids toy! lol I wonder what 2 of these railing will look like together and I wish TLG had made a longer ladder piece. Scott
  25. I'm with you on this Graysmith. When I heard there was to be 3 fire engines in 2013, I thought there would have been a mix type but when I first saw the pictures of the fire theme I wondered why they had made them all on the Turntable Ladder version albeit 60002 is a combined type, 60003 is a midi and 60004 has an out and out stand alone TL but some different variet would have gone down better. Its not even as if the 60004 engine has more extentions over 60003. The red helmets just don't go with the black fire uniforms do they. Come on TLG give us yellow ones. And its good that they have continued the forest fire fighting into the urban environment by giving the firefighters fires to put out. You could see that point if it was just the motor cycle firefighter with the Hi viz but there are firefighters in the other sets wearing them.
