It's a really, really wonderful model! Ideas might not accept it, unless they used to make wheels ike that.. ? Give it a try!

Looks great. Whish I could come around to have a look! Hope there is pictures and video after the show. :-)

The pole reverser is this one. I use the sbrick as a replacement for the LEGO IR system, and with that you can reverse each output in software, saving the space in the train. In long trains, like , there are two motors on one seperate sBricks in each end, controlled by the same interface, alle reversed so one control runs them all. :-)

1: My trains have run for long times during a two day show, and at home, and I have never had a heat issue. 2: I understand that concern, but it would be easy for them to open the profile-platform in that case... I'm not that worried about that.

Nice review! The issues with Android is not a problem on iOS devices. Let's hope they soon get a more stable Android release out. If you have an iOS device that support BT4 LE, then use that ;-) Regarding the train & 80% slider: That is not a problem with my HE. Maybe you just run a heavy train.. ;-) I did a show with a HE running with 6, 6 & 8 waggons with a front & back loco without problems. Both loco's have 2 PF train motors and seperate rechargable battery and sbrick.

LDD problem in OSX El Capitan
marook replied to colmoore's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
"<key>LSMinimumSystemVersion</key> <string>10.4.11</string> " Strange advise: That just tells the OS the minimum OS version the app can run on.. nothing about the newest. There is nothing in the info.plist telling the App to disable features due to OS versions. That has to be based on API calls in the compiled code. -

Wow, looks fantastic. Always a pleasure to see pictures from your displays! -
That is really impressive! And 11.500 panels.. most have taken some time to put together.. ;-) I love the size - it makes it possible to actually have a large HE there, or something else with wagons. Next step is a huge layout with tracks... LEGO World in CPH in febuary? ;-)

What a cool project! :-)

Sounds great... Now, if they would make a BT LE module so they could command SBricks.. :-D That IR stuff is just too limited...

SBrick for PF trains- a first impression review
marook replied to zephyr1934's topic in LEGO Train Tech
It's using BT LE, so no 'pairing' - at least, only happening dynamically when the profile connects to the SBrick(s) linked. Advantage: No other device can 'highjack' you control while running. Disadvantage: You need to close the profile(or app) in order to swap to another device. But my experience is it happens in msec. so very fast. Regarding device time, I was running many hours last weekend with out running my iOS device down to more than 40% battery. That was running the trains a lot from around 10am to 5pm.. Why is 4 outputs great? On my HE, the setup is like this in both engines: Ch1: Motor one Ch2: motor two (reversed in settings) Ch3: Head/tail lights Ch4: cabin lights. If you look at some of the large Technic sets, they replace 2-4 IR receivers with 1-2 SBricks, and doing all the GUI in one nice interface. The joystick is nice for driving etc.. -
SBrick for PF trains- a first impression review
marook replied to zephyr1934's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Hi All, I just ran an event with 3 SBricks the last weekend, and it's a wonderful product. 1: Linking Multiple bricks. YES, you can easily do that, and that is where output names come in handy! You simply add more SBricks to your controller (I think the limit is 16..!) and assign the 'channels' to the various outputs on each brick. They can ALL be different, and all have different pole-reversing set! I have a Horizon Express with two engines and 3 wagonsets. No problem! And the cool thing is, you can then make a profile for each end and one for both at the same time. Think seperate profiles for manuvering the trains on the track, and dual for one big train running. 2: Kill Switch. You simply add a normal button with the same 'channel' name and make it output=0 on activation. The slider will not reset (in current version) but the output will. 3: Price... Yeah, a bit high, but they deliver, and with every version comes new firmware and features. Latest version can tell you the power level of the battery in your model(!) The price is equal to the IR modul compared to outputs (at least here in € land..) -
Really cool models. I like the Uaai a lot! My own shuttle tank transport seems to pale in comparison.. :-/

Hi All, LEGO was a huge part of my childhood, and I got some 12v sets along the way. My dad made an loft as part of our room where I could have a more permanent layout build from time to time. From the highschool years my LEGO was put away, and only the Star Wars UCS sets were bought and displayed. Some years ago I got my LEGO back from 'the dungeons' where it had been stored, and started to see if my daughter would play with it. When Friends came out, she found interest in LEGO and started to realise that my old 'classic' bricks could be used to extend it. When she turned 10 1,5 year ago, she wanted a Horizon Express - the dad was amazed! To everyones surprise she got one (from her dad) and actually build it 95% herself. Now we needed a layout to drive it on... the rest is history, and this past week it was actually on display at the annual 'Model Train Gathering' here in Denmark. My railroadbridge along with it. Pictures here. The last 6-8 months we have been visiting the local LEGO Store to get PaB cups and sets.

I hope that is with a big ironic meaning, otherwise you missed the whole point of LEGO... ;-)
