  1. Lame? Not as a shopping give-away. But I would rather have a christmas-tree ornament like last year.. december giveaway maybe?
  2. Simply right-click and download it?
  3. Looks like we get a new Christmas Train! Now, re-run on old set or a new one.. pictures.... where are they... ;-)
  4. That is a cool video - and nice crossing! To be fair, the speed of them closing/opening is a bit fast, but otherwise the sensors would need to be further away.. ;-) I guess the lights are mostly custom LED's - right?
  5. We are trying to make it work, but pure Mono seems to be a hard road to go.. Some lib's seem to be missing.. If you know about Xamarin Studio and how to do it, please contact banban/Alban Nanty.
  6. Thanks - yeah, it's very robust in both ends and the slopes make it stay put in the right place. I can run high-speed trains over the bridge with no problem. They only get in trouble if the decline from the bridge is to steep and go into a curve.. ;-) but that is not the bridges fault. :-)
  7. Update time! :-) As proposed above, I have added remote control via IR. The bonus is I can better hide the batterybox, so it more looks like a hidden oil-tank for th system (or something like that). Wire mechanics update Wire mechanics house I have also updated the bridge a bit, mostly with lights for airplane warning (the bridge is a bit high when open!) and upgraded the fixture for the wire system on the bridge itself: Flight warning lights The fligt warning lights are mounted with a 'brick-ballast' that keeps the lights in the correct position all the time :-) Flight warning lights The trains now have signals in both ends of the bridge. We can't have them going into the river.. ;-) Train signals is now in place in both ends. Last, but not least, the bridge deck have been replaced with a better looking version that looks more 'industrial' to me: Bridge update Now I just need time to do the structure in LDD for everyone to peak at.. ;-) There is a few extra picture on Flickr...
  8. Really nice! Can't wait to get a train like that :-)
  9. Well, not clearance and not train... but I did a bridge ;-)
  10. I did now. Thanks! Update: really useful info - then I guess I just need to know how much power the IR Reciever use in idle mode.. ;-) Update two: found it. :-)
  11. Hi All, I'm starting to run some train layouts and wondered why idle/standby times are one the different battery boxes? 1: The Rechargeable box/8878: - what is the 'turn off' time? It seems to turn itself off after some time.. 15, 20 minutes? 2: Standby times expected? Anyone know how much power is used by the IR receiver or the SBrick if the box is left on? Both for the 8878 and the 8881 AA-Technic box? If I hook it up with a IR Receiver and leave it on, how many hours should I expect it to be idle if the motors is not running? Thanks in advance,
  12. Looks really good. And what an impressive station! Looking forward to see the roof. And yeah, kinda know that sound for 8 HE parts going off tracks.. ;-)
  13. Update: Shore line coming along: Bridge over troubled water... And a bit of water detail, along with proper signals for the ships: Bridge over troubled water... Still learning to do landscapes.. more photos on Flickr. Enjoy!
  14. Well, I guess the best is to study gear ratios, and then do some simple testing. Here is a comprehensive guide telling about RPM's etc., and in case you need it, Sariel also have a great gear calculator online.
  15. No problem. Take your time! I will have to test some more, but it was not that long time. Maybe it's the long HE train... but it was also in a 8-figure shape, with the one side normal Lego curves, the other ME Models r72 curves. Maybe the trains speed on those curves pull a bit to much...
  16. Thanks! Now some video:
  17. Wow - that looks really great! Lovely details and great technics.
  18. Seems the instruktions still point to version 10.. any idea when version 11 will be up? I have build version 10, and some points break apart when I run trains over it with speed.. ;-) Edit: Or maybe it's just some of the old parts that does not hold together good enough.. :-/
  19. Update: I was so lucky to borrow 4 blue baseplates, so now there is water under :-) Train bridge over water I also managed to get rid of all the red slopes, trying to make it look more realistic with the bricks I have in stock.. Train bridge over water Video of running trains when I get a bit more light... ;-)
  20. Hi All, I've spend the last weeks time on building a new bridge for my trains. I wanted something that was big enough for ships to pass through, inspired by JANGBRiCKS' Drawbridge. With the 42042 set containing a lot of liftarms, I got a set off that and started to work. The result is a blue/grey bridge spanning over 64 studs, and raises for ships to pass: LEGO Train bridge The mechanism uses the boom system from the Crawler Crane, with some modifications: LEGO Train bridge LEGO Train bridge LEGO Train bridge It's all controlled from the house next to the bridge: LEGO Train bridge Where the person in charge has a nice view of the tracks and bridge: LEGO Train bridge LEGO Train bridge Here is a little video of it in action. Video of trains passing: Now I just need to build a harbour... ;-)
  21. And NOW, the building instructions is online on lego.com.. including the B model.
  22. I'm fairly new around here, and think that is simply just a stupid rule. Mostly because I've seen some great older topics, only because people commented on them after a long time. Fair, topics should not be 'bumped' simply with a 'me too' comment, but besides that, the rule is stupid (in my mind). It's called a forum so people can communicate, and if someone don't wanna look at older topics, they are free to skip them. And if that rule is any serious, moderators should lock all topics after some time and 'archive' them.. but what a shame that would be...
  23. Hi All, It's been years since my last Technic set, more than 20 I think, but last weekend I got 3 sets.. all 42042! :-) (Warehouse had 35% off on a birthday deal!) I build the first one as pr. instructions.. had to see it, and then I build this bridge for my trains from the other boxes: I need to add some connections, but it's tested and works!
  24. Lovely, lovely layout!
  25. I do about 2 plates pr. track-segment (normal track, 4 flex-pieces) and that works great, even for long HE trains if it's charged, at least if it's a bit up to speed when starting the climb.. just like normal trains. :-) And I'm running at least two full sets together.
