  1. I felt like a good castle figbarf! Here are my dismounted knights! I set myself the following rules. 1. Use only the original type triangular shields. 2. Try and use as many examples as possible. 3. No external body armour allowed. 4. Attempt to represent all (decent) Lego castle factions. Let me know if you think I missed any!
  2. Excellent, nice choice SR, over to you Oleon! @Bodi@blackdeathgr
  3. The court has considered the licensing of this mod as a medium artisan. Usually, to licence a modification of an official LEGO set we would require substantially more change than in this (otherwise very well presented) example. However, the court feels that given NOD is a new member, and thus unfamiliar with the rules - we will allow this license to stand in this case. In future, normal licensing standards will apply.
  4. They are from a third party vendor called Altbricks, who it seems are unfortunately closed at the moment.
  5. Final Era 2 Challenge III results have been released here:
  6. Challenge III Cat D Results The naval conflict has been just as heated as the conflict on land, with the smaller Lotii vessels suprising Madrician navies with their combat qualities. Nevertheless, the combined might of the Madrician navies has greatly diminished Lotii sea power in the region. Individual winners: Category D1 1st Place: Faladrin A surprising change of wind 2nd Place: Kwatchi The Bounty 3rd Place: Kotz Skirmish on the seas Category D2 1st Place: Bregir The end of the Resilience 2nd Place: Capt Wolf Not the end of the story I imagined 3rd Place: Brickwolf Busy times in Seawatch Note: All place holders are entitled to rewards for this category, even leadership members. Total averaged scores at the end of Category D Sea Rats: 1st Oleon: 2nd Corrington: 3rd Eslandola: 4th Final Faction Places for Challenge III The court has recognised some issues with the current scoring system that does not address a balance between participation and quality. Future challenges will adapt a modified scoring system, but for now it has been decided to award the original prizes based on the total averaged scores at the end of category D. Nations may choose a location for a new settlement on any of the unoccupied numbered islands on this map OR they may add the free property licenses associated with their prize to an existing settlement in the New Haven Sea. Original property license conditions may be found here. Sea Rats have first choice, followed by Oleon, Corrington and finally Eslandola. Please announce your faction's choice in this thread within one week of the proceeding factions choice being announced. Additional prizes to recognise faction efforts in individual categories have been awarded below. Challenge III Overall Results Due to a host of Madrician nations meeting the Carnite call to arms, Carno has managed to defend their settlements on Oleonda and consolidate their hold on the western half of the island. Lotii power both on land and at sea has been diminished, but not to the point where they are forced to abandon their colonial possessions. Lotii naval power has been weakened to the point where it is unlikely that their fleet will seek battle with Corlander or Eslandolan flagged vessels for the next three trading seasons (OOC: For winning Cat D, Lotii ships will not attack Corrlander or Eslandolan flagged vessels for the next three MRCAs. Both factions are also awarded 2 free sistership licenses). The successful Corlander raid on the western most Lotii settlement of Jiangkai together with the significant Oleon presence out of Fort Arltrees have exposed that settlements weakness. Although the Lotii successfully retook the settlement, they have now abandoned it. A significant number of the population of the former settlement were left behind and although the settlement was destroyed, foundations and building materials are abundant. The remaining people are likely to be hostile to nations whose troops wear red, but if Olean troops out of Fort Arltrees were to establish a settlement in this location, the population would probably actively assist them. (OOC: For wining Cat E, If Oleon establishes a settlement on the site of Jiangkai at any time in the next six months, it will automatically start with 12 NPC residences and 'Town' status - no micros required.) Carno has also been impressed with Oleon military prowess, and a company of elite Essener Totenköpfe have reported to Fort Arltrees for duty (OOC: Oleon gains an upkeep free company at Fort Altrees). For now an uneasy stalemate presides over the island with a line of control passing through narrowest part of the island. The Tyree'de remain as mysterious as ever, although Corlander trading efforts appear to have been very effective with the Tyree'de opening a permanent trade station in the Corlander settlement of Spudkirk. (OOC: For winning Cat C, Spudkirk gains a free medium commerce property activated by mirco). Conflict with the Lotii empire on the other hand has exposed the Madrician nations to far greater knowledge of the Southern Halsoians with Corrington opening a dedicated academy of Lotii studies (OOC: for winning Cat A, Corrington gains a free large education property activated by micro in a settlement of their choice - the micro must be Lotii themed). Eslandola, although not as active in combat as the other imperial powers on Oleonda, did spend considerable effort exploring the island in an attempt to discover it's secrets. In doing so, they discovered the ruins of the temple of Thabthim and within a huge cache of gold and precious stones. Also within the temple were some crude maps, from which Eslandolan adventurers discovered the location of an ancient gold mine fortuitously located close to the recently established Eslandolan settlement of Interlagos. (OOC: For wining Cat B, Eslandola adds +1000DB to their treasury and may construct a free gold mine in the settlement of Interlagos - no prospecting build or die roll required.) Note: there have been a great deal of mircos awarded to individual players and factions as part of this challenge. All mirco licences issued as part of this challenge will expire on 31st Dec 2020. Use it or lose it!
  7. A sugar extraction plant, licensed as a medium factory in the name of Port Raleigh.
  8. Task 6 - Sweet, Sweet Corrington, Build 1: Sugar extraction, Port Raleigh
  9. Sugar production is quite well established in Port Raleigh; however, it remains a small scale affair with many small plantations. Here workers extract sugar crystals from sugar syrup by boiling. The syrup; which has been extracted from the cane by crushing in a mill, is transported to the first basin from barrels. It is then boiled down and the first load of sugar crystals are removed. The remaining syrup; now much thicker, is then boiled down again in the second basin. Again sugar crystals are removed from this second batch and again the remaining syrup is then boiled down a third time in the last basin. Again sugar crystals are removed and the remaining dark and viscous syrup, known as blackstrap molasses, is drained into barrels. Even this by product is valuable, and it is transported to distilleries that produce a type of rum from it. Some even clam blackstrap molasses has healing properties, and it can be sold as is. A GoC build for task 6 "Sweet, Sweet Corrington" which requires a scene from the Corlander sugar industry. The build is loosely based on the below 18 century engraving. Will be licensed as a factory for Port Raleigh.
  10. NOD, I have checked your form, your beach bakery is correctly licensed as a small artisan and is correctly labelled as your free license. If you have any licensing questions, tag me and I'll see them quicker!
  11. Great build! I really like the columns and the loose SNOT wharf. The whole build comes together well and the colour palette really makes everything ‘pop’. Well done!
  12. Nice work, I especially like the cooper in the first build (seems to be a lot of coopers popping up today!) The press in the back corner is an especially nice design that I will need to remember!
  13. Nice idea for an artisan and good work on the details. The run down wooden look of the building is quite effective. I've been racking my brains trying to think of ideas for a smallish artisan to complete before the end of the month - I think you may have just inspired me to try a cooper!
  14. Unfortunately yes, we have yet to release the final results, but the challenge is over.
  15. Thanks all for the comments, I really enjoyed this one! I actually hadn't thought of Mesabi Landing as a location... but now that you've mentioned it the idea of a fortified stables to protect the horse flesh from all those hungry WTC marines has a kind of appeal! The roof is just a serious of 1x1 round bricks joined with plates. The top section of the roof is joined to the building by a 1x1 brick with a stud on one side conecting to the 1x1 round bricks in the centre of the roof. Along the centre line of the roof then are a couple of 1x1 bricks with a stud on one side that connect to the top plates on either side creating the 90 angle. The lower roof is done a bit differently. It has a couple of hinge plates in the top plate layer that connect to a pole on the inside that has a brick with a stud on one side at the top. Does that all make sense? Unfortunately I've already pulled this one apart but I can photograph a demo next time I use the technique if it helps?
  16. And another from me, this time Task 9 - Equines for Elizabethville, Stable in Elizabethville
  17. When Corlanders first landed on the island of Lacryma, they recognised great potential in its rolling plains and more temperate climate. One of the first acts of the settlers was the introduction of horses, a move which paid of as now Lacryma is renowned across the brick seas for the best horses in the new world. Of course the facilities which have sprung up to cater for the equine industry on Lacryma are also first class, although like most structures in Elizabethville, they maintain the quaint cottage look of rural Corrington. Here founder of Elizabethville and indeed the equine industry on Lacryma, Sir Micah of Wolfhaven can been seen discussing the finer points of horse breeding with a visiting Onondaga tribesman and the manager of this stable. My first submission for the GoC category 'Equines of Elizabethville' and second of my 48x48 Corrie stable scenes. @SilentWolf I've included Sir Micah in the build, if that's a problem let me know and I can re-shoot without him. Also I intend on licensing in as a large artisan in the name of the settlement. Let me know if that is ok as well.
  18. Fish oil, interesting idea for stability... not sure about the smell though!!
  19. Great build and colourful story as always Khorne! This is one I've been waiting for the chance to try and replicate for a while... Guillotine by Dario Đipić
  20. A stable licensed as a large artisan in the name of the settlement
  21. Love how you have adapted the Barracuda Bay style for this fort. Licensed by Corrington as a small fort in Brickford Landing.
  22. Bravo! Imperials acting like Imperials OOC I applaud your factions decision and respect the planning to took to stage this. I think this can only be a positive for the game and the overall story line. Great work Oleon! So.... where to now??? How about some tax concessions for Corrie vessels visiting Olean controlled TV ports in return for some Redcoat support, or at least guaranteed neutrality....? (jk)
  23. A beach bar licensed as a small artisan
  24. Corlander businessman Paul Whitehead was travelling between King's Harbour and Jameston when his ship recieved slight damage in a storm and was forced to make an unscheduled stop for repairs in the Sea Rat territory of Tortuga. Paul was travelling with his children, Cassandra (12) and Christopher (8) and was apprehensive at first landing in one of the so called 'free' settlements of the Brick Seas. Popular tales told stories of debauchery and villainy in such settlements and Paul naturally worried for his children, especially when the Capitan of the vessel announced that they would need at least a week to make the repairs. Paul quickly found a reputable inn at a very reasonable price (apparently due to the lack of taxes as the innkeeper was quick to point out at every opportunity). Despite his initial concerns, after a few days he had found Tortuga to be quite a nice place for his family to be visiting! In the afternoon, he liked to visit one of the many beach bars that dotted the picturesque beaches. Cat A - Beach Bar While he quietly sipped a very fine rum (hmm, note to self, maybe there is an opportunity here for the import of Jameston Rum..), his children happily played on the beach. He was even able to obtain a shovel and bucket for them as they wished to compete in a local sandcastle contest or some such thing. His daughter did complain that he didn't procure them a set square and graph paper to design their entry - how serious could a sandcastle competition possibly be! Meanwhile Cassandra; who of course excelled in mathematics and engineering at school, organised herself and her brother and planned their intricate design. She was annoyed that Dad didn't seem to understand the finer points of sandcastle design and she was forced to improvise some internal form work (empty rum barrels) in order to create the tall turrets for their masterpiece. After she and Christopher finished, she was understandably quite proud of their efforts. Hopefully their fine Corish engineering and attention to detail would make their design competitive! Cat B - A very Corrie Sandcastle! -------------- My entry for both Categories of the Tortuga Sandcastle contest. A big thank you to @Professor Thaum for hosting this mini-challenge! The beach bar will be licensed as a small artisan.
