Terraversan Letters of Marque - The Second Terraversan War
Ayrlego replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Ships holding a letter of marque may attack Oleon vessels anywhere in the Brick Seas. You don't have to attack the Olean battle fleet around Terraversa!!! -
To all the citizens, nations, and peoples of the Brick Seas! The free and independent nation of Terraversa is under a ruthless and unjust attack by the forces of the dishonourable scoundrel who styles himself Philip I, King of Oleon and Guelph. As such, I Grand Admiral L'Olius authorise the issue of Letters of Marque and Reprisal to any citizen of the Brick Seas for apprehension, seizure and taking of Ships, Vessels and Goods belonging to the Empire of Oleon or her allies. A Terraversan Letter of Marque will give any captain holding said letter the right to attack any vessels sailing under the Olean flag, which shall be considered as right and lawful prizes of war in all courts. In addition to any prizes taken on the high seas, the Terraversan Admiralty will further reward any captain that accepts a letter of marque with a bounty of 200DB for any Olean ship (or any ship allied with Oleon) sunk or captured, to be paid upon proof of the event. Signed, In the city of Westface, on this day, the 30th September, 620 years after the fall of the Great Empire by Grand Admiral L'Olius, OOC: Should you wish to obtain a Terraversan LoM, simply post in this thread to have one issued. If you are captaining a fleet, only your flagship requires a LoM (you don't need one for each vessel in the fleet). A TER LoM will allow you to attack Olean vessels (or vessels holding an Olean LoM) without any diplomatic consequences for you options. Be aware though a LoM will mean that, Olean warships can attack you back.

[COR-MCRA] The Brave Defenders of Stormhaven
Ayrlego replied to Mesabi's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I shall refer it to a non-Corrie court member for an impartial judgement, but as there are two separate builds; both showing reasonable effort, I see no objection to using the first one to satisfy the licensing requirement for the GoC task and the second one combined with the story to satisfy the requirement to repair the fort. @Capt Wolf/ @Bodi Could we get a ruling here please.- 18 replies

Nice to have you back building Darnok! Potatoes are a great choice for a new settlement and I appreciate the thought you put into the story here - nice work. Also calculating everything to scale - impressive!

I don't think I've seen the headlight technique used before for cobblestone - like everyone else commented, it looks really good! That render is perfect as well! I've only ever used LDD, do you think it is worth switching over to Studio? Did you do the render in Studio?- 16 replies

Nice office. Those colours are certainly very 'Corrish'!! I like the medical symbol out the front. Welcome to Port Raleigh! Usually when we license a property, we make a post in the settlement thread just as a courtesy so the settlement mayor or caretaker can update the first post. The Port Raleigh thread can be found here. For future reference, I keep the list of Corrish settlements up-to-date in this thread.

The Second Terraversan War - Submissions Thread

Terraversa is at stake. The war will be mainly fought and won through the MRCA and land combat rules (TBA) with some GameMaster input. These builds may shape the GM input in some small ways. -
The Second Terraversan War - Submissions Thread
Ayrlego replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Generally, ships can only be lost through MRCA action, so no - a MOC of you sabotaging a ship offshore would not result in either side losing a ship. The reason for this is that building a ship is a significant exercise and licensing it is quite expensive. That effort can be risked in a MRCA against the potential for a reward. It wouldn't really be fair if another player then made a MOC showing that ship sinking; and we then sunk it. The idea of these builds is to show support for either side. The overall effects of the combined MOCs presented in this thread on the war will be minimal. I would say that individual MOCs will have almost certainly no significant effort. For example. If we get say... three or four builds showing TER militia raising efforts that show coordination between the builders in that all are located in or around a specfic settlement, that may result in TER being awarded an additional Platoon of EGS troops. If say seven or eight players all build similar scenes maybe that would result in an additional company. There are no certainties or guarantees with this incentive. Does that make sense? -
[OL Troop Raising] Letter from Breshaun
Ayrlego replied to Captain Genaro's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great barracks! The combination of dark orange and dark bley works really well here and I really like the way you used the grey slopes and inverted slopes to get the triangular edging on the roof side (I'm sure that has a proper name - no idea what it is!!). The tents and pond are also nice details. The troops; however, are the highlight! I do love a nice column of troops marching! The thing that really jumps out are the white rimmed tricornes. I still don't have a single one of those! Are they genuine? The white looks slightly raised in some of them which is why I ask. The green epaulettes are an unusual choice with the blue but I do like the over all look of this fine regiment. As noted in some of your other MOCs, the inverse colours of the drummers is another great detail. Very nice work! -
Two fantastic scenes with your trademark awesome minifigs! I really like the first scene showing the soldiers making the offering. The depth of field on the first photo is brilliantly done and the technique used to create the wave foam with white clips looks very cool. It's not the usual battle scene and I think really adds to the story here. Those native troops look fierce (especially the guy with the scar on his face - I haven't seen that head before). The trench is well done as well, especially the walkway over the top (I do love that headlight/tile technique!)

[COR-MCRA] The Brave Defenders of Stormhaven
Ayrlego replied to Mesabi's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Very nice work Mesabi. I think the first building is my favourite. I like the attention to detail you paid on the texture of the wood with the grille bricks and SNOT tiles. The window using trans plates works really well too. The roof slopes seem kind of off being level with the façade. Maybe have them overhang by one? Hard to say if that would have worked. It looks fine though. I do like that you clad the inside with the white. Like for Darnok, the soldier unbinding the boat stands out for me. The second building is also quite nice, the texture on the wharf again is pleasing to see! I'm not sure about the tile arrangement on the roof, something doesn't look quite right to me but I can't quite put my finger on what it is.Lastly, the colour schemes used for both are fantastic (except for the mix of yellow and fleshie.... Each to his own I guess!!!) from me!!! Fits fine as far as I am concerned. Not every part of the waterfront will have mangroves and you still managed to capture the concept of building over the water. That's cool. I would normally say that not every build needs to be licensed... but (from the GoC task description): I think the effort and attention to detail would easily justify the first build as a small residence. The settlement would be happy to care care of it for you should you wish.- 18 replies

The Second Terraversan War - Submissions Thread
Ayrlego posted a topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
The Second (Olean)Terraversan War - Turn One Olean Letters of Marque Thread Terraversan Letters of Marque Thread A Call to Arms! The Brick Seas are still reeling with the news of the initial assault on Terraversa that has left Sillithonia, Pilnton and Tarlor all in Oleon hands with a good portion of Kings Port also controlled by the Bluecoats. The people of Terraversa are divided. Most reports state that the majority are united in their opposition of the invaders; however, a sizable proportion who call themselves 'Loyalists' have rallied in Nola Mar in support of Oleon. Both sides are desperately raising reserves and militia forces to continue the fight. The success of either side may depend on how many troops can be raised during this crucial period. Meanwhile, Kings Port is under siege with fighting in the streets, and native Atwi warriors wage guerilla warfare in the interior. And what of Terraversan Arch Duke Oldis in Kings Port and Grand Admiral L'Olius in Westface? What are they planning to counter the attack? While the outcome of the invasion will mostly be determined by tMRCA actions and the Game Masters; now is the player base's chance to influence the outcome of the campaign. Until the next tMRCA deadline, players may choose to build in support for either Oleon or Terraversa in an attempt to influence the numbers of troops raised for each side. Requirements: 1. Each player may submit a maximum of two builds per MRCA turn. 2. Each build must be in a dedicated topic with the tag [BTV1-OL] or [BTV1-TER] preceding the title depending on which side you are supporting. Existing builds may be retroactively added to this challenge if they were posted after the release of the KPA Volume 5 Issue 4. 3. A link to the build must be posted in this topic. 4. Your build should show one of the many small scale actions your side is doing to turn the tide. Examples could be raising forces, mustering militias, spying on the enemy, guerrilla warfare, or any other effort towards winning the war for Terraversa's future. Focus during this first MRCA turn is likely to be gathering intelligence on the enemy and the raising of troops, but you are free to depict other efforts." 5. [COR - MRCA] Not dusk but dawn
Ayrlego replied to Professor Thaum's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I have to agree with Darnok. It is a fantastic build and story. However unless you had an agreement with LM71 Blackbird or Corrington, Bluebeard's story wasn't yours to tell. He was captured by Corrington in the MRCA. He was jailed in a MRCA result build by LM71. In the past, if no action has been taken, then the GM have allowed NPC pirates to escape. This time action was taken. Perhaps if we then had not followed up by the next deadline, he may have 'escaped', but that would have been a GM decision. Regardless, the next MRCA deadline has not yet come to pass, so the point is moot. Like I said, I do like the story, had we been consulted we may have even supported it... But to spring this on us is, well... Edit: As a faction we have decided to accept this story as cannon. However, I'd expect IC consequences as a result of this daring rescue! -

The Royal Artillery Depot has opened in Port Raleigh. -
After a long building process beginning back in November 619, Corlander authorities have officially declared operational the Royal Artillery Depot in Port Raleigh. Corlander colonies in the new world do not yet have the ability to cast cannon barrels on the large scale that has become required in the colonies. As such, the requirement for a depot was identified by the army. The depot would be required to serve as an assembly and storage point for artillery arriving from the old world, as well as a repair and maintenance facility. Port Raleigh was selected for the initial depot, a selection based on the colony's strategic position and closest point for vessels arriving from the mainland. Firstly, the depot must be equipped with sufficient pier space to accommodate several supply vessels at once. A large warehouse was also required, with floor space for assembly and maintenance of artillery pieces sheltered from the weather and sufficient office space for administrative tasks. A whole company of infantry are assigned guard duty to make sure the depot is secure. Goods arriving can be temporarily stored on the wharf. Royal Artillery Corps soldiers inspect a recently arrived shipment of two 24 pound cannons waiting for assembly. Nearby a pallet of gunpowder barrels waits to be transported to a nearby facility. An Artillery Corps officer watches from the open warehouse doors. Six 12 pound field cannons have recently been assembled and await transport to the nearby range for test firing. The guns are pulled by a team of two horses to the range. Additional horses rest behind the depot and a guard stands duty on the entrance. An additional soldier hitches a ride on the back of the caisson. and finally the guns are test fired to check the barrels are sound and the limber has been correctly assembled. _______________________________________ Based on the European Commercial Port from Empire Total War - including the weird colour scheme only possible in digital. I built this while I was away at sea last year. I have a small stockpile of mostly finished digital builds from that period; however, I haven't really been very motivated to finish them (it's hard to work in digital when my real bricks are calling!). Digital footprint is roughly 11 660 (I didn't count the overhang on the wharf slopes or empty 'water' space), so size wise it should qualify as a 'Royal' sized property. To be licensed by Port Raleigh as an artisan.

The Corlander settlers have always enjoyed excellent relations with the Onondaga and when they introduced horses to the island, the Onondaga were quick to take an interest. Now in only a few years, many Onondaga are excellent horseman. Onondaga warriors have served as loyal scouts alongside Corlander forces all over the Brick Seas and they provide Corlander forces with expert tracking and scouting skills. A very beautiful vessel NM, packed with lots of great details! I especially like the old knight helmet used for the figurehead and the headlight bricks used as the deck grate. The crew quarters are amazing - love those hammocks! As for the crew themselves, spectacular, especially the colour of their jackets. A real loss for us that you ended up deciding on Eslandola! Although, the hacienda style building you made for Weelond is so beautifully Eslandolan! As a representative of the Corlander leadership, I'd like to formally make an offer to retain the Legion in Her Majesties Navy. Happy to discuss terms here or via PM - whichever you like. We are not necessary limited to offering you DB either, if you wanted some reciprocal land builds in an Eslandolan settlement I would be open to that as well.
