LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 15 Rumors and Discussion
telaruhn replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Top 3: Satyr, Flying Warrior, Tribal Woman Bottom 3: Farmer, Astronaut, Clumsy Guy The Animal Control's legs have printing on the side. Looks like a good print for a Park Ranger or the like. For some reason she feels like she might fit with figures from the Dino theme. Scary Knight's eyes are like the Pirate Captain's or Evil Dwarf's. I'm warming up to the Laser Mech. He has the best color combo of all the mech IMO, but the laser sword looks weird without a handle. -

I figured as much, so I'm glad they provided her with one. About figure distribution per box of 60 - I'm thinking the common (5-per-box) ones will be the Laser Robot, Kendo Fighter, and Janitor. OR maybe the Farmer or Astronaut. None of the females seem like they would get 5 per box. For back prints, at the very least I hope the Farmer, Ballerina and Wrestling Champion get them. -

It looks to me like the Tribal Woman has a reddish-brown neck bracket! I must say I am loving the arm prints on the Tribal Woman, Animal Control Officer, Astronaut and Wrestling Champion! -

My thoughts on the blurry image: Wrestling Champion: nice to finally see him, though I'm a bit disappointed by the trophy. Janitor: Awesome. I like the mop head. Kendo Fighter: Interesting. I hope his prints are nice. Jewel Thief: I like the Black Widow hair, but I did hope for a hat/hair combo mold... Looks like this series won't be giving us one. Astronaut: Looks like a plain old boring helmet, which is expected but unfortunate. He has something attached to his neck, probably the boring old air tank? Flying Warrior: Can't quite tell if his torso is pearl gold, but it looks like it. Not a huge fan of the spear, but I'll take it. Tribal Woman: Love the baby, I expected that hairpiece and I am still disappointed by it. I hope her prints are nice. Laser Robot: What is that weapon!? Looks like a Battle Mech recolor with wings, which is okay. He has a great color scheme, but I expected something different, I guess. Farmer: Not bad, but the prints look similar to stuff we've gotten before. I hope his arms have printing, as I can't really tell from the picture. Ballerina: Well executed. Love the tutu, and I love that she's in white. A Swan Lake MOC, anyone!? Satyr: Also well executed. The flute looks printed, which is a relief considering S13 gave us a snake charmer with a plain ol' 3L bar for the flute. It's not as good as a pan flute, but I'll still take it over an unprinted flute. Queen: Looks nice, and I expected that she wouldn't have an accessory... Oh well. At least we get another ermine cape! Shark Suit Guy: Great to see the fins from the other side. He's Chicken Suit Guy 2.0! Scary Knight: Hmm. Hate the helmet, love the mace. The printing looks pretty nice in a unique color. I welcome new variations of the Egyptian Warrior shield, but I'm still unsure if I like the bear heraldry. Clumsy Guy: Still like him, but it looks like the crutches are vastly different from we ones we saw in that illustration. I guess I need a better view of them since the picture doesn't show them off well. Animal Control Officer: Cute. Great skunk and great to see sand green short sleeves. I hope her torso works for male figures, too. I'm not really upset over the use of the ponytail, it's just that it's in dark brown for the third time in this theme, and they could have used a different color... EDIT: If I counted correctly, there are 14 new molds in this series, which is on par with previous series. The Farmer, Laser Robot, Kendo Fighter, Jewel Thief, and Astronaut are the figures without new molds. -

AWESOME. Does the Scary Knight have a new mace piece? and does the Flying Warrior have a new armor piece? -

It's mostly speculation at this point in time. I think it's all stuff from outside sources telling EB users about upcoming figures. Just remember this should all be taken with a grain of salt before the official reveal. But IMO it's still fun to speculate! I think having the batlord-style helmet would be too similar to the Flying Warrior's. That's my only concern. It would overtly suggest opposites, which I'm not sure I'm a fan of. Speaking of the Flying Warrior - will he come with wings? And by "wings" I mean a new mold of wings, feathery ones, similar in size to the Garygoyle's or the Fairy's. It would solidify the motif more than armor or a cape would. And I know that there were some larger wings in Pharaoh's Quest, but they would be too large for a CMF bag. I kind of hope he comes with a pearl gold longbow instead of a sword or spear, but that's wishful thinking... -
Collectable Minifigures Advent Calendar 2015 - LDD MOC
telaruhn replied to Yooha's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I can't wait to see what you come up with this year, Yooha! It's a shame LDD hasn't been updated at all since last year... There are a lot of parts that have been introduced since then that would be great for this kind of thing. -

That would be a cruel joke, but I doubt it. We probably wouldn't see pieces like the skunk or the satyr hair if we weren't actually getting another series. It's a shame we haven't seen an official list at all yet. Based on what we've seen for pieces, I don't doubt the list we got from amazon. But names like "Concierge" and "Dancer" could mean a lot of things, so it would be nice to see the official names so we have a better idea of what we're actually getting... A Janitor/Custodian in a jumpsuit and a Ballerina in a tutu seem the most likely/recognizable candidates at this point. I am very stoked for the Astronaut now, but part of me wants it to be retro sci-fi styled as opposed to a contemporary one, even if it is more realistic than City astronauts.I'm no expert at kendo, but I believe those types of fighters use swords, so I'll be surprised if he comes with a staff. I'm expecting him with a lone katana with some intricate armor/headgear... Interesting - so we'll get two winged helmets in this series? In a certain context, the two together feels like the Flying Warrior and Scary Knight will be mortal enemies... -

Are people thinking that the concierge is actually a (male) janitor? I believe amazingbricks said he was told she has a headpiece printed on her face. If the head alone was seen, maybe the face belongs to a different figure. -

Thanks for putting the pictures together! It really gives us a good idea of what's ahead! :) So the Farmer and the Clumsy Guy use the two-color legs. I wonder what other figures in this series use this technology... I'm thinking the Wrestling Champion will be using it for a tights and boots combo. Maybe the Astronaut, depending on whether it's contemporary, retro, or futuristic. Besides the Queen's cape, I wonder what other capes or cloth parts will arrive in Series 15. Maybe the Wrestling Champion will get a cape, or one of the other females has a cloth skirt? If the Dancer ends up being a ballerina, I would seriously hope for a tutu made of plastic or soft rubber as opposed to textile... -

Oddly enough, I'm kind of enjoying the wait... But I have a feeling there will be a reveal soon enough. Does anyone think any of the new parts revealed in upcoming 2016 sets will be in Series 15? I know it happened last year with the Ultra Agent's armor for the Galaxy Trooper... Maybe a part from Nexo Knights? -

Bunny Suit Guy is up there with them... He's the only one I want from Series 7 that I've yet to get! I'll get one Shark Suit Guy for completionist's sake, but I'll have to see it in person before I decide to get another. -
After seeing the low-res pictures of the sets, I must say that I'm excited to get a more up-close look. The ones that interest me the most are the School, the Inn, and the Marketplace. I like the hourglass piece, but it looks really tall in the teacher's hand... and it appears to have 1x1 round studs on each end? The girl on the second floor of the inn looks new - is that the female earth elf? Those twisty branch parts in the Marketplace set look awesome, but sorry to say that I'll likely replace all the purple and pink with other bricks... I couldn't help but notice that it seems the orange dragon is different from the other two, but I'm not sure I'm a fan of any of them. I hope for a white-colored wind dragon so that each element is represented by a dragon in the theme - maybe a summer wave like Skyra's Castle?

The only concern I have with food suits, like the Hot Dog Man, is that their costume would end up being one large part, so I feel LEGO is very limited in what they can accomplish with that. Nothing too wide like a hamburger or pizza, since it needs to be narrow enough to expose the arms (or allow for some motion), and it needs to fit in the blind bags. That's why a Banana Suit or maybe a Taco Suit would work. These aren't comparative to the animal suits as the animal suits can get away with a new part that only covers their head, whereas food suits will likely have to cover the whole body... -

If the Jewel Thief is a female, I hope she has a mask printed on her face, a hat/hair combo mold, a jewel in a new or rare color or shape, and the Santa sack in black, or maybe a fancy purse... I'm curious to see what kinds of weapons the Flying Warrior and Scary Knight will have... -
Why is the Series 1 Zombie so expensive?
telaruhn replied to Transparency for Effect's topic in Special LEGO Themes
To me, the Zombie Businessman is basically S1 Zombie 2.0. They're both wearing suits. IMO the S1 Zombie is in no way any better of an army builder for zombies, since they'd all be wearing suits... And not everyone wears the same clothes, so you're really only buying them en masse for the head. AND the accessories are commonplace and uninteresting. But maybe that's just me. That said, it's probably expensive for many factors, but the four that are apparent to me are 1) time (5 years!), 2) limited production, 3) rarity per box of 60, and 4) greedy people hoarding the figure to drive up the price/demand differential in the secondary market. Many are likely still sitting in small zip-lock bags, unassembled, waiting for somebody to pay upwards of twelve times the original price for them... Because it's apparent that those people are out there, and will spend that much money to get a specific figure if they really want it. I think the last one happens all too often IMO, especially with suited figures the 2-per-box-of-60 from S9, S10, and S11 (So a double whammy for Bumblebee Girl)...- 43 replies

That's a possibility. Something ultra-futuristic, sleeker and less anime-like than the Battle Mech? Maybe he could reuse that helmet from the 2015 Ultra Agents sets... I'd really like to see that part in different colors... Previous robots have given us both a new molded head and a regular head with a separate headgear. Not sure what this one will bring - maybe the guy that said we are getting a clockwork recolor actually meant the Laser Robot is getting an entirely new molded headpiece instead? -

There's a lot of translucent parts, like the scientist flasks, the wine bottle, the fairy wings, the xray tile... They don't feel any less common than, say, cloth parts, metallic parts, or hat/hair combo molds. All that said, I don't think the Laser Robot will have any translucent body parts, but maybe his accessory will have a translucent part. "Laser" seems to indicate he will indeed come with some sort of laser, which will definitely be translucent. But that's only based on the unofficial name. Who knows what it actually will be called... -
Is that a new life jacket? I'm not a big fan about the gap it causes in the neck. Most neck accessories are either flush with the entire head (armors, capes, wings) or they fit snugly around the head (beards, bandanas etc.), in such a way that any gaps aren't noticeable. But it's noticable here and it just looks like a poor design choice...

What a cute little set. Looks like it fits right in with Prison Island so I'll probably get it. I'm really liking that prisoner figure, as well. I like that his chain-gang shirt is tied around his waist!

Since the net is presumably going to go with the Animal Control Officer, it has to be big enough to capture the skunk or else it would be an incongruous combination of accessories. Regardless of that: I agree it seems rather disproportionate, but I could see that net being useful, and I only think that because of how huge it is. -
My favorites are 60114 and 60116, but I may hold off on stickering all those parts... The lime speedboat in particular is very sleek!

I was able to find some series 13 the other day - landed 12 in all: two Galaxy Troopers, two Egyptian Warriors, two Goblins, a King, a Snake Charmer, a Carpenter, a Unicorn Girl, and two Hot Dog Men. I kept one of the Hot Dog Men sealed just in case I wanted to gift it.

As someone who learned how to properly use crutches, I really hope that's not the case. Crutches are meant to fit under the arm and not over it, so that illustration would seem awkward when translated to a figure. With this in mind, and with the idea that there will be no new arm mold, I believe the crutch will simply end where the figure grabs it with his hand, and the part that fits under the shoulder is omitted because of the figure's lack of articulation. The crutch is still very recognizable even if it doesn't match real-life crutches exactly. His review last year for Series 13 was released on November 30th, so I bet we could get Series 15's review at the end of this month or the beginning of December at the latest. -

Though unlikely, it's possible that the arms could be made in a certain way, such that they could be used for both the left and right arms like the Vampire Bat's. I guess I don't get the "upper arm" you're referring to...
