  1. Interesting... In my opinion, these just seem like well-educated guesses, based on patterns that we've seen in past non-themed CMF series.Animal suit-figures have become a staple of the CMF line, and we already know what Series 15's will be, so old news there. Is it possible that the Tribal Girl has the short legs? She could be a young girl instead of a woman and still have the possible baby - maybe it's her little brother or something? Regardless, there is usually 1 figure per series that doesn't have the normal minifigure legs, so this is not a surprise. Space suit? This is vague, and also unsurprising, considering we had nothing closely related to space themes in SS2 and S14, and LEGO will probably try to make up for that in S15. If this is really the truth, I wonder if it is a modern-day Astronaut or something more futuristic, or maybe something from retro Sci-Fi. "Innovative" and "never-before-seen" are also vague terms, but I'm thinking the guy meant it was something that has never been made into a minifigure. It could be argued that this is the Satyr, but it could be anything else that hasn't shown up. Each series releases at least one figure like this; there's always new, exciting, and inventive figures. Because they are so generic, all of those mentions seem very possible, but none of them are surprising. They're baseline expectations more than anything else.
  2. Looking at the descriptions, I must say that the Police sets in this wave sound amazing, in particular the Tire Escape, Prison Island and Starter Set. I want that hot air balloon! The Fire sets don't particularly interest me, maybe once more pictures are released I'll change my mind. However, the new stud shooter looks good.
  3. I don't know... Penguin Suit would be cool. If the upcoming Shark Suit Guy actually has fins for arms, maybe the torso assembly could also work for the Penguin? A pirate would be fine as long as it has something that makes it unique, or at the very least, parts that make him easy to mix-and-match with other pirates. The last female sport figure, IIRC, was the Roller Derby Girl in Series 9, and there was at least one female sport-ish figure in every series prior to that... So I can understand if more recent series have fallen short of expectations, especially for sports figs in general. That being said, sports figures end up not being too exciting IMO, regardless of gender. They've still missed a few iconic sports, so it's not like they're out of ideas. I would hope Series 15 has some sort of sports figure...
  4. It happens. I had some LEGO as a child but I "grew" out of it for quite a few years. Minifigures are what brought me back into the fray... I think there's many possibilities as to what figures will be in this series - but like the Simpsons figures, you have to expect a little bit of variation from what you see in other media since LEGO is limited to the Minifigure silhouette. For example, Homer and Comic Book Guy don't have the bulging bellies. This variation will probably be much more extreme in this series, since many classic Disney characters are anthropomorphic animals. To that end, it's hard (at least for me) to imagine what these figures will end up looking like if they retain said silhouette.
  5. I'm excited for the egg part, too. I wonder where it will show up in other themes... The figures are okay, but I have no interest in them.
  6. I will say I got the Dol Guldur Ambush for $9, Lake-town Chase for $35, and Mirkwood Elf Army, Council of Elrond, and Escape from Mirkwood Spiders for $12 each, all of which came without figures (or the brick-built spiders in the Escape from Mirkwood Spiders set). I can whole-heartedly say those were some great buys for the amount of pieces I got. I'm seeing the Mystery Mansion being sold without the figures for around $70 on Ebay, which also seems reasonable considering you get a lot of parts for the price. The caveat there is you don't have anything to sell to offset the cost like you would a brand new set with the figures. There's always more to it than just the cost, though. You also have to think about the time spent buying that second set, taking out the figures and maybe the motorcycle, making the Ebay listings, shipping to the buyer... I don't think I have enough time or patience to be an Ebay seller, even if you get the most bang for your buck with that option.
  7. Thank you, kelceycoe! I actually want to try out a lot of things with my mansion, but I like it at its current size so I am trying to show some restraint to stay close to the mansion's original (exterior) design. I also like the rest of the interior, but I hope to update them to my liking... The greenhouse needs more plants (mandrakes, anyone!?) and my kitchen needs a little something extra to it... On buying second sets without the figures - very worth it, imo. I did that with a lot of the Hobbit/LotR sets and I'm thrilled with the extra buildings and supplemental enviromental features I was able to make with them, so I may have to do the same with the Mystery Mansion.
  8. Bought the Mystery Mansion and Mystery Machine. Both look great and I'm glad those are the only two sets needed to complete the gang. Though I hoped Fred and Velma would be in one more set, to the effect of getting two full sets of the gang (maybe with different expressions) after grabbing the whole wave, but that was clearly wishful thinking... Which is why I probably won't buy any more from this wave. I like how the Mystery Machine opens, but I wasn't a fan of the stickered parts, but I also knew that stickers were to be expected. I do like the flower-printed dish pieces and the Zombie figure is cute. One of the things I plan to do with my Mystery Mansion is rotate the brown parts connecting the different areas of the mansion, to the extent that the interior is forming the concave as opposed to the exterior. Hopefully that makes sense... Then I plan to remove the spike-ball trap and replace it with something else... It's way too big and takes up the whole foyer, leaving much to be desired in that area. Maybe I will try to make a library above the kitchen, with a moving bookcase or some other play feature hiding a clue...
  9. I guess it depends on where you live. I had the most trouble finding the Zombie Businessman... I got the only two I've come across. I know lots of people just grab the bags instead of feeling the pieces inside, so ultimately it may be more up to chance, since the packet placement in each box is random.
  10. If we do get a baby, I'm thinking it will be like the BrickWarriors baby wrap and a minifigure head. I think that would make the most sense in the context of the Tribal Girl, and maybe she'll have with a neck bracket or something that attaches to the wrap, so she can carry the baby around while she's basket weaving or berry gathering or whatever she's doing...
  11. I'm excited about the new hourglass and possible teapot molds, and I'm sure there's more new molds in the sets... I've always been interested in Elves sets for their unusual parts and colors, but I've never gotten around to buying one... Maybe this wave will encourage me to buy!
  12. Let's see.... I may be missing some, and maybe I included too much, but here's a list of "common" guesses from the Series 15 Guessing Game thread, in no particular order: One (Satyr) is pretty much confirmed, and two others (Shark Suit Guy and Tribal Girl) have been speculated to be in Series 15. I wouldn't be surprised if there's another from this list that shows up in the series... We got unicorns and hot dogs, so why not sharks and bananas? On the topic of the now-confirmed Satyr - I know I'm not the only one hoping for a pan flute piece, but I wonder what it would look like as a new mold. As for the idea of using peg legs, I think it could work. But LEGO didn't make the legs any different for the Series 6 Minotaur, a character that would maybe use a different style of leg, which makes me think the Satyr will get regular legs. Maybe they didn't have the technology back in 2012, but I wouldn't hold my breath for the goat-legs mold, as cool as it would be. Shark Suit Guy - interesting. I wonder what he will have for parts, as in will he have regular minifigure arms or fins akin to the Chicken Suit Guy's wings? I think that's only logical since sharks don't have arms! Will you be able to see the figure's face through the mouth (behind a row of sharp teeth!?), or will it be behind the mask? Tribal Girl - Hoping with a new hairpiece for this one, or maybe a new feather that can attach to hats or hair? Maybe a new color variation on the Grandma Visitor's basket, or a new basket mold altogether? Some type of food item? Or maybe a friendly woodland creature as an accessory? I'm thinking she won't get a bow/arrow and quiver since that would make her to similar too the Series 1 Tribal Hunter, but maybe not... Now I want to see pictures :P but we won't get anything like that until early November... So the wait begins! Until then, guessing is part of the fun!
  13. Finally got the Zombie Businessman! Now that I have all 16, I'll give my final thoughts: Wolf Guy: A lot of great parts and details, and I love the reference to the Series 5 Lumberjack. If you want him to be shirtless, I suggest using the Spectre's torso. Zombie Pirate: I love his face and beard, but the rest is meh. Monster Scientist: Actually very well made, that headpiece is just wacky! Wacky Witch: Speaking of wacky, another great figure. I love the cat, her head/hairpiece, and the little patch on her arm. Plant Monster: He's pretty well-done, but he still looks like a costumed figure. I got an extra so I could replace the head with a solid pink one. Fly Monster: Most excellent, and probably my favorite this series. To me, he looks weird with one claw, so getting two is essential, so you have a figure with claws and a figure with regular hands. Spectre: I'm pleased with this guy. His cape is pretty cool, and I'm coming around on the translucent legs. Zombie Cheerleader: Cute. The hole in the hairpiece seems unnecessary, but I look forward to seeing the hairpiece in other colors. Tiger Girl: She's very detailed, but I wish her face and hands were Yellowish Orange instead of Yellow so she was less of a costumed character. I assume the ears on the hairpiece are meant to match the color of the torso/legs, but are more closer to the color of the head/hands. Gargoyle: He has a lot of great stone-detailing. I love the headpiece and wings, and look forward to seeing them used in other places. Skeleton Guy: I'm not a big fan of him, but I'm ecstatic about his pumpkin bucket. Monster Rocker: Also not a big fan, but like Skeleton Guy, he has tons of details, so I appreciate the effort put into this figure. Zombie Businessman: A well-made figure, but I haven't been able to find a good use for the hairpiece, as it doesn't seem quite right on other figures. Banshee: Awesome. Also looking forward to new colors of her hairpiece. Square Foot: My least favorite of this series; not a fan of how his face is printed. Camera is a fitting accessory even if it is common. Spider Lady: Not bad. The only part I really like is her face, but the other parts are pretty cool and I'm still surprised we got a plastic cape.
  14. Satyr? Yes please! Shark Suit Guy? I guess at this point any animal-suited figure is bound to be a hit. I'm pretty excited, especially since we may get a new molds for the head and tail. Tribal Girl? I'm thinking this would be along the same lines as the Tribal Hunter and Tribal Chief from so long ago? Nice. I first thought a female Island Warrior, but then I realized "Tribal" is the term for Native American-influenced figures.
  15. I got the Plant Monster, Tiger Girl and Zombie Pirate today, as well as several multiples of others. Still missing the Zombie Businessman... Now that I have two Fly Monsters, I will say the claw is pretty good if you have both hands with them. Two regular minifigure hands also looks awesome.
  16. ^That satyr idea isn't half bad. The part would probably have to be multicolored so you could distinguish the horns from the ears/hair/eyebrows. But I think it would turn out well. I was also thinking that the Banshee's hair could be re-used. I'd love to see it in opaque colors...
  17. Got ten more S14 today - The Monster Scientist, Wacky Witch, Fly Monster, Spectre, Zombie Cheerleader, Gargoyle, Skeleton Guy, Monster Rocker, Banshee and Square Foot. Now all I need is the Zombie Pirate, Plant Monster, Tiger Girl, and Zombie Businessman. Still considering getting extras, but not sure yet on which ones. Still having no luck finding figures at Walmart/Target/TRU. Walgreens is the only place I can find them.
  18. Not a bad set. The coloration reminds me of the Series 12 Space Miner - maybe he could be a Drillex henchman?
  19. My favorite is probably the Series 11 Yeti. But I have also grown fond of the Series 13 Galaxy Trooper.
  20. Went to 7 Walgreens in the Springfield, MA area today. Only 2 had S14 figures, but there was only a couple at each one. I grabbed the only two from them that weren't Monster Rockers, and they turned out to be Wolf Guy and Spider Lady. Another Walgreens has S13, which got me very excited since I have been wanting more of them. However, the display they were hanging off of had a lock on it. Neither the first attendant I asked or the manager could unlock it, so I ended up taking off the whole metal rod and feeling the ones I wanted, and breaking the bags at the hole at the top. Kinda weird, but I got 2 Galaxy Troopers, 2 Goblins, and 2 Egyptian Warriors out of it. An army builder's dream :) The rest were empty, but some shelves still had the S13 tag, so they may not have put out S14 yet. Only downside - all the figures were $4.59 each. But, having had no luck at 2 Walmarts, a Target and a TRU, I figured this was better than nothing.
  21. A Mythology series would be fantastic. I feel they would have to find inspiration from many cultures, and not solely from Greco-Roman influences. That being said, I really want an Anubis Guard figure since I missed out on the PQ one. Cupid would also be amazing, as well. What about a Dragon Suit Guy? I'm thinking a bright blue, open masked, human-in-a-costume version similar to Unicorn Girl, maybe using recolored Gargoyle wings? This is opposed to an actual Dragon in minifigure form, like Baby Smaug (though that actually might be cool too). I was just thinking along the lines of suited figures, and a dragon one might be a cool addition while still fitting the theme of "Mythology." Or are dragons too castle-y?
  22. I'm not surprised they were pulled, considering they have confidential in their names... But I will say the fact that CM4Sci was able to uncover 4 sets leads me to believe that we'll get 4 minifigure series in 2016, even though the sets say other years. It's what I choose to believe, anyway
  23. How the heck do places still have Series 13 on shelves? It felt like they went out of stock all the way back in March on the LEGO website... I'll be looking at TRU for Series 14 once I get to school on Wednesday. There isn't a Target near there, but I am still hoping they put them on the shelves before September 1st...
  24. I wish I was there... Anywhere around me only has SS2...
  25. Im thinking we'll get Mickey, Donald, Goofy and the like. No on Disney princesses since they're in minidoll form. Same with their villains. It's kind of hard to say since theres so many characters they could do, but I'd like to think they would do the more "classic" characters first. I'm not that excited about it, mind you. Disney is not my thing. Similar to the Simpons figures, I'll only get them if they have good parts.
