  1. I've been wondering the exact same thing. There's no way this Series will be a one-off for themed series, especially considering it continues the numbering for the non-licensed, multi-themed CMFs. At the very least it makes me wonder what S15 and on will be (themed or non-themed), even though that's still quite a ways off. A little off-topic, but they definitely WILL make a CMF series for The LEGO Movie 2. I can't imagine them not doing it. Excited to see a full list for S14, official names and all. It'll be a preliminary marker as to whether or not I get the series.
  2. Impressive. It took me a minute to realize the gray were exposed parts, but that bandage effect looks amazing. I also love the exposed bone on the lower left leg.
  3. I would totally be in favor for a Fabuland 2.0, especially if the figures' parts were compatible with minifigures. Looking at that tuba and accordion at the top of this forum, this theme would be a great place to get new molds for minifigure accessories and the like. To be honest, I feel your figures are completely devoid of the creepiness the original Fabuland figures had, so this idea seems that much more intriguing to me.
  4. I did some major updates to my pirate crew. I still have to write up a little backstory, but let me know what you guys think of the new and updated characters! In case you were wondering, Dirk is riding a hoverboard! I will also add that this new team is made with limited parts - most of my LEGO collection is 200 miles away...
  5. Excellent technique on the face and snout! I also love the legs and feet, they are very well shaped and posed.
  6. STAR (Space Traveling Allied Rebels) Force is a band of escaped space prisoners under the leadership of Admiral LaFlamme, who was suspended as a commander of Galaxy Squad when his wife and daughter were killed and he was framed for their murder. With the help from his son Dirk on the outside, the Admiral was able to escape the galactic prison where he was being held. The Admiral brought four capable individuals along with him in the escape, each with their own personality and tactical abiltities. *Work In Progress* Admiral LaFlamme Dr. Yeti Samantha Lee Allen the Welder Commander Grayson Dirk LaFlamme
  7. Not bad. The spider-girl is my favorite, I like the alternating-colored legs! Though what is the one on the far right supposed to be? Try to outfit your crew with weapons and give them names and perhaps backstories. It would make your entry much more intriguing!
  8. Not a bad series, I'm just not interested in Simpsons. The heads are well molded but are still very creepy to me. However, I will be picking up Marge, Bart, Maggie, Lisa, Smithers, Willie, Fallout Boy, Comic Book Guy, and possibly Patty and Selma. All for their accessories, especially the slingshot, purple and blue capes, doll and purse tiles, and the squishieee cup. I feel this series is a lot better than the previous Simpsons series.
  9. You aren't the only one. I have a group of space thief characters in mind, but they aren't all that pirate-y in the sense that they use Pirate-themed parts. And I don't want to give my figures a peg leg or swap their gun with a sabre just so they fit the theme... Let me put it this way - I see "space pirates" as characters stealing spacecraft and causing havoc in a planetary sector. I don't think it's strictly related to the LEGO Pirate theme and its motifs, so the fact that this contest wants you to use them throws me off a bit.
  10. It looks as if something pushed the piece downwards, causing it to press against the 1x1 plate below... Causing the split. Yeah, I'd go as far as to request a replacement part. They'll probably have you send the broken piece to them so they can look at it for faults.
  11. Wow, great work! I especially love the colors and the technique used for that red roof. As for interior ideas, the second floor of the cafe could be the kitchen and more seating areas, while the third floor looks like it could make a nice studio apartment. Another option could make only the first floor as the cafe, and the second and third floors as a larger apartment. Maybe include a small stage area in the cafe for entertainment/music performers? Maybe make a bar so patrons can sit at the counter with the barista? I look forward to the completion of the interior!
  12. My TRU was sold out, too... But I'm willing to bet there will be another shipment of figures before the next series comes out.
  13. Nice job! I especially like your use of SNOT for the windows and the brick effect you made with the red pieces.
  14. I was looking to buy the new Mos Eisley Cantina, but I plan to replace the Star Wars figs with CMFs. The Galaxy Trooper and Alien Trooper will fit here, I think. I've grown fond of the Galaxy Trooper's parts, so I'll be army-building him once stores near me restock the figure displays... I was also having a lot of fun the other day converting non-space CMFs into space characters. The S11 Yeti and this series' Lady Cyclops make for a great psuedo-Chewbacca and Twileck, respectively.
  15. My least favorite from each series: S1 - Cowboy S2 - Ringmaster S3 - Sumo Wrestler S4 - Werewolf S5 - Evil Dwarf S6 - Skater Girl S7 - Jungle Boy S8 - Fairy/Evil Robot S9 - Alien Avenger S10 - Motorcycle Mechanic S11 - Lady Robot S12 - Jester S13 - Lady Cyclops
  16. It'd be really cool to see some sort of a supernatural hunter CMF - a character with a silver-bolt crossbow and a garlic bunch? If were such a character made, would LEGO fit them with the Monster Fighters theme, or would they take him/her a different direction? I'm still hoping for a ghost with a genie tail, a new mask that fits over a black minifig head, and a ball-and-chain as an accessory. The mask enables its use as a costume, and unlike the previous ghost headpiece, it covers a minifig's head but still allows rotation. Also - does anyone think these characters would appear in the Minifigures MMO? Does it stand to reason they're going to make a Horror-themed world as a result?
  17. Well I will say this is a great teaser... Very Halloween. Something about it tells me we will be seeing the new pumpkin head mold in this series... Maybe.
  18. Agreed on Carpenters and Goblins - But I wouldn't inherently call them unpopular since they're so common. The rarer ones were picked up when people wanted full sets, so it would make sense that the more common ones would remain. I would consider "unpopular" figures to be ones people have actually voiced their distaste for, and those who only get "good" figures would skip them. This would determine which figs would most likely be left behind if every figure had the same rarity. Considering that, I'd say the most unpopular figure for this series is the Lady Cyclops, and probably followed by the Sheriff, Samurai, and Disco Diva.
  19. I certainly wouldn't mind this! I thought about a sea witch CMF the other day - She would look cool with S4's Crazy Scientist's hairpiece. A sea-snake or eel as an accessory? However, I question if they can put the squid leg piece in a CMF bag - for two reasons. For one, it might be too large in the packaging, moreso than even so-called bulky Medusa's snake tail. Second, after a quick look on LDD, the torso-leg connection and leg-baseplate connection aren't directly on top of one another, off-centering her on the base plate. It kind of throws off the whole figure display. The squid legs also might be too big for the CMF display cases... Anyway, I would think that if we actually do get a sea witch, it would have an updated version of squid legs, one that is less bulky and doesn't overpower the base plate.
  20. I'm hoping the Vampire Lady would get a Scientist vial in trans-red, but it seems unlikely considering the Mad Scientist will be getting a pink one... Just noticed the printing on her hairpiece - I'm on the fence about it. On one hand, it's well done and adds to her character. On the other hand, I feel like it limits the part's usage. The spider motif is fine - if a bit overused. I may just mix her with the MF Vampire Lady (I prefer MF's dress, but the CMF's face) and see what happens.
  21. Also true! The arms and tail might look nice for Tygra from Thundercats, too (though he is male). The pants and arms might look cool as actual clothing pieces, as well (because who doesn't want a pair of tiger-print pants?). To top it off, the Day-of-the-Dead Guy should have an acoustic guitar, a bugle, or some other instrument as an accessory. Get four of them together and you're ready to celebrate with your own undead mariachi band! Speaking of which, I'm really wanting a new accessory mold. The electric guitar from S12 and the shield, handsaw, and cobra from S13 are all amazing, but I'm still craving more! And if the first Simpsons Series was indicative of new accessory molds, then I have low expectations for Simpsons 2. Nothing that has been revealed for this series indicates a new accessory either, but I'm hoping there's at least one. In the context of Halloween monsters, I'm not sure what would warrant a new mold...
  22. Ooh, I can see it now... A sombrero, maybe a black mariachi outfit? Not a bad idea honestly. As nice as it looks, I'm sad the Tiger Girl's suit has curves... I wanted to make a Calvin and Hobbes MOC and this suit would have been perfect for it... It's the only mark against the outfit, though.
  23. I'll be honest - Halloween is the only seasonal theme I can think of that could be a CMF series. No other seasonal theme has enough unreleased characters to warrant it. However, I'm concerned for it's release and shelf-life - A September release gives us plenty of time to nab all 16 before Halloween, but what will sales be like after October? I only say this because they usually run the four-month market gamut, and I'm just not sure how well Halloween-themed figures will sell into Christmas time... The fact this is series 14 is interesting - and I'm rather certain we'll see more themed series that use the numbering system just because of it. It would be odd for it to be a one-off thing for just series 14, but who knows.
  24. I go back and forth on the Samurai. She's got great printed armor, but I was kind of hoping to get an updated samurai armor mold. The current version looks dated, and as told by others, it is way too fragile and can be bent when felt in the blind bags. Getting two katanas is nice, though again I was hoping for a new Japanese-style weapon, like a naginata as mentioned before, or possibly a wakazashi-style shortsword. I'm not aware that LEGO has produced historically-accurate Far Eastern weapons other than the katana, and since the Samurai gave us nothing new, I doubt we will be see anything new like that anytime soon. If there's anything I wish Series 13 had more of, it would be back printing. With only 4 characters with back printing, the back view of many of the figures leave much to be desired. This seems the most glaring on characters like the Sheriff, Goblin and Paleontologist. Characters like the King and Galaxy Trooper are okay without back printing as their armor or capes cover the back. Regardless, it's a little disappointing, and it doesn't seem like it would have cost much more to add back printing to those figures...
  25. The front and back printing on Egyptian Warrior's torso is identical. I don't know if it's been said, but I just noticed it... Doesn't really bother me, but I found it interesting.
