Nice micro castle, Swamp! One critique I have is that I think it would look better with tower turrets on the corners instead of the clip since the clip is aligned with only one of the walls and looks a bit odd because of this. It also might look better if the studs on the rocks were covered. Brick on, Swamp!

Welcome to Eurobricks, the_colonel! I am sure others, as well as I, would like to see your collection. There is no "if I find the time", there is only "do" or "do not".

Welcome to Eurobricks, dlefik2014! I am looking forward to seeing what you build. Do you have a favorite theme?

Book II Challenge III Dwarven Affairs
Slegengr replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
For Category A, is overhang of 1-2 studs on each side allowable? I limited the base to 14x14 to be sure to keep within the limits and allow for a border (though from what I understand, the border does not have to fit within the 16x16), but higher portions of my current build overhang the 16x16 base limit by a little bit. I would like to know if this is allowable. -

Farmer Maggot's Work Horse - AoM: Mill Phase I
Slegengr replied to Slegengr's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks, Dzoni! Thanks, Gunman! I just build the building in whatever size completes what I intend. I cannot guarantee that each phase will get larger, though it is still likely. -

Thanks, SK! I enjoyed making this roof and I am pleased with how it turned out. The dress was something I had to do to fix the error that the 2x2x2 slope-brick dress makes every woman taller than the average man (I wish LEGO would change this somehow)... the walking stance came simply from the same idea. I am glad you like the scythe. I was very happy with it as well. -

Welcome to Eurobricks, Andrew! I am looking forward to seeing what you build.

Thanks, Zblj! I am honored that you think it is one of the best, even for its simplicity. It is indeed basically the corner of a cube placed on top of the walls .

Thanks, LordDan! The roof was the first portion I built, and it inspired the 3-door design. The interior was interesting to make as well. Thanks, Alfadas. It is simpler than it looks to make such a roof. I just used SNOT bricks to attach plates in a triangular prism and used round corner plates to vary the height of the tiles. Then I tiled everything visible and used details like the shields to cover areas that did not look as good with tiles. Thanks, vitreolum! Thanks, Lord Vladivus! Thanks, lenjoyLego! Thanks, Hobbythom! The smoke was a quick decision when I could not find my store of the usual smoke element: the 4-scoop ice-cream piece. I think the ice-cream piece works well, but I also think the inverted slopes did the trick here as well. Thanks, mccoyed! The people of Falkidalr will need meat over winter, and this is the best way of the times to preserve it. I am glad that with each new member comes a little bit more embellishment of GoH.

CCCXII Falworth Castle Revisited.
Slegengr replied to Mark of Falworth's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Very nice castle, Mark of Falworth! I like the rockwork, though more SNOT would be nice. The foliage is nice and dense. Those palm trees look great. I also particularly like the water technique and waterfall. The detailing on the castle is nice as well: not too extravagant and not too simple. The double arches over the windows look great. The only detail I think could be better is the parapet on top of the wall. It seems like it is currently done in LEGO scale with a 1-brick-high wall and 1-brick-high turrets. It would look more realistic if the wall were taller by at least a brick so the minifigure heads were at the height of the gaps between turrets. Brick on, Mark of Falworth! -
Welcome to Eurobricks, Wolfgang! What LEGO scale are you using for the CAN dimensions? (I cannot utilize the LXF file now). Could you post pictures or screen shots of your build so far? I hope you find what you are looking for at Eurobricks, and I am looking forward to seeing what you build.

Slegengr replied to Stustaff's topic in Hello! My name is...
Welcome to Eurobricks, Stustuff! This topic is where you should ask about a part: Help with identifying parts/sets. You will need to use a separate image-hosting service (like Flickr that was mentioned above), as Eurobricks is not an image-hosting site. I am looking forward to seeing what you build. -
Butcher Birger and his wife Selby use the smokehouse to preserve meat to store for winter. After cutting up the meat on the butcher's table, the meat is hung on hooks from the poles below the rafters. A fire is kindled below and kept burning with low flames in order to provide steady heat and smoke to dry out the meat and preserve it to provide meat throughout winter, when game is scarce. EDIT: Added image with replaced smoke:

This is really nice, vitreolum! There are a lot of interesting parts usages, like the cheese-siding and the SNOT sand. I particularly like how you "Westernized" Star Wars, especially the gunfight between Han and Greedo. The Landspeeder train is particularly good as well. Brick on, vitreolum!

Sorry for the double post, but is there any news about this? I had certainly hoped there would be more entries. Based on the building and photography skill of the members of GoH, I thought there would be many more awesome banners to consider. It seems at this point that there are only three members who submitted a banner... Maybe late entries should be accepted for some time yet? Surely there are some members who have procrastinated on their entries or forgotten about this since it was originally posted.

According to the site guidelines, it specifically states in the signature section: No animated GIFs are to be used in your signatures. I only bring this up since someone with authority once decided that GIFs should not be in signatures and I support keeping it that way based on my personal preference.

I agree that the minifigures look great! I like the remakes of the classic torsos with the proper color for the torso base (ability to print white over blue means the coat can actually be blue!). I will probably be getting some of the sets for the new bluecoats, but I also think the sets seem a little bit over simplified.

I would have to say that I personally do not like GIFs in the signature. They are very distracting from the intent of the post. Keep in mind that your signature shows up on every single post you make on Eurobricks. Sometimes the signature can be very distracting when it does not relate to a discussion and it stands out too much. I would also say that this applies to overly-large signatures as well. The signature should be a quick preview and a link to your work, IMO, not a place to force everyone to see what you have done. If everyone had a large signature or GIFs in the signature, discussions would become much less coherent. Linking to a GIF or large image is fine. Other members have to click the link to activate it. I think GIFs should be fine within your personal topic about a MOC, too, as the distraction is what the discussion is about. Just my two cents...
