  1. Thanks, Kai! I appreciate the compliments.
  2. Thanks, all! I appreciate the feedback and compliments!
  3. Great build, MKJ! This is definitely a nice wall. I particularly like the inside dirt and stone shown on the ends and the stairs up to the battlements atop the wall. The inn looks nice as well, and that was a great idea to include the mason in the build. Brick on, MKJ!
  4. Nice build, lenjoyLego! I also like the rockwork. The pile of weapons and treasure works great for this build. The torch in the alcove on the wall is a neat touch. Is that spy in a small body of water? Brick on, lenjoyLego!
  5. Welcome to Eurobricks, Walter! Please share a bit more about yourself, such as your favorite LEGO theme, whether you collect or MOC, what LEGO means to you, etc.
  6. Welcome to Eurobricks, jbrierley! Would you care to share a bit more about yourself, like your favorite LEGO theme, what you do with LEGO (collect, MOD, MOC), etc.?
  7. Welcome to Eurobricks, Balbo! I also like the LotR and Hobbit theme. Your ruins of Dale is very nice! I am looking forward to seeing more creations from you!
  8. You are welcome. When searching for parts on BrickLink, look at the different categories listed under the Buy>Parts section. Then search the categories you think would relate to the part. Experience will make the guesswork easier. The piece you suggested is "conical" in shape, so check under "cone": the search brings up this part, which is probably the part you referenced and also a part of the Naboo Starfighter. The more you scroll through the options, the more you will begin to recognize how to find more regular components. Unusual parts may still be hard to find, but you will find that BrickLink will help greatly in identifying parts.
  9. 1: likely parts from this Naboo starfighter from Star Wars. 2: top cylinders likely from this X-wing from Star Wars, bottom conglomeration likely from the Bionicle Toa Kopaka. 3: top circular plate from this Sorting Hat set from Harry Potter, bottom group from Anakin's Jedi Starfighter from Star Wars: The Clone Wars. 4: parts from the Gateway of the Squid set from the Atlantis theme. 5: parts from this Williams F1 Racer. 6: Star Wars cockpit windshields, likely from the X-wing (left, see note on your 2nd image) and the Tie Fighter (right, many variations of the set possible). 7: also parts from the vulture droid from the set listed for your 1st image: Naboo starfighter 8: group on left likely from this Muscle Slammer Bike, parts on right likely more parts to the set in your 4th image: Gateway of the Squid I hope this helps. All of this information can be found on the site linked to through each link: BrickLink. It is a useful site for searching for parts, and familiarizing yourself with searches there will help identify parts in the future. There are also inventories with a list of all included parts for each set linked to, if you would like to find out how complete they are.
  10. Welcome to Eurobricks, Sam! I am looking forward to seeing what you build. I believe you will find this community gives excellent feedback in helping one to improve one's techniques, especially due to the contributions in members sharing their ideas!
  11. Thanks, Captain Braunsfeld! The roof was indeed cumbersome, but anything worth doing is worth doing right, no matter how hard. Thank you very much, Ecclesiastes! I am honored that I have received a frontpage position already! My efforts and perseverance through frustration paid off in the roofing technique. I usually check the frontpage very first in the morning, but I usually do not have internet access over the weekend and by Monday morning, my position was bumped down by the Toa post by VBBN. I noticed my build on the frontpage later that day (after my response post), was stunned for a few seconds , then realized right away why I had so many responses . Again, thanks for the honor of a frontpage position! I am glad to be a member of GoH and the great guild of Mitgardia!
  12. Great! I love building minifigures, so I will definitely build an entry once done with Challenge III! Those are some great fig combos you made, Eccs.! The elf warrior has a sweet combination of Dwalin's torso, that shoulder piece, and the Hun cloak.
  13. Thanks, SK! I appreciate the compliments!
  14. Thanks for the compliment, kabel! Thanks, Lord Vladivus! Thanks, Mestari! I do not know the reference, though. Thanks, Alfadas! Thanks, mccoyed! I like how the cup rack turned out. I was looking for something to add a little "spice" to the cart, and realized that he needs cups for serving. Thanks, lenjoyLego! Phase II will be completed in the future after I finish all phase I builds. Thanks, Hammerhand! He is indeed ready for business, even many people (12?) at one time. Thanks, songwm! Thanks, mrcp6d! I somehow messed up the photo editing (in the dark at about midnight...). I did not notice it until I viewed the photos while posting to Eurobricks. Each time I look at this post, I notice how bad they look to me, especially the first one, so I will be replacing at least the first three photos when I get the chance. Thanks for the feedback! Thanks, SarahJoy! I definitely messed up the photo editing, especially on the first photo. Every time I see it, that is the first thought that runs through my head. I will be redoing these photos to correct for the imbalance. Thanks for the feedback!
  15. Welcome to Eurobricks, Vanillaxx! You might also check eBay for used lots, but I cannot say anything about buying in the Netherlands for sure. Luke Watkins Hutchinson is an inspiration to many, including me. Build for long enough and obtain enough bricks, and anyone can build amazing creations. I am looking forward to seeing what you build!
  16. Very nice MOC, Disco! I like the vines growing on the hill. That dome is well done with what is available. The posing and expressions on different elves is perfect! I also like that the hill over the cellar is removable for added "play" value. I do not see anywhere that could use improvement. Nice execution of the idea! Brick on, Disco!
  17. Great build, Adeel! The art piece is instantly recognizable. I think it is well done at small scale. That easel looks great as well. There is no shame in hiding the supports used behind-the-scenes! Brick on, Adeel!
  18. Thanks, UtilityBelt! I have been harboring the roof idea in my head for some time now, and am glad I finally built it to satisfying results. Thanks, Hammerhand! I appreciate the compliments. You are the first to comment on the supports; I am glad someone noticed. Thanks, Gunman! Without inspiration from your MOCs, my building techniques would not have improved as much as they have. I appreciate the compliment!
  19. Nice build, Jakorin! The story is great, with an interesting way to stop the dwarves! The tower looks nice, especially the corners and its slenderness. I also like the ground foliage and trees. One part I see possible improvement is the roof-line of the tower. The gaps at the ridge and under the eaves are noticeable. Is there some way those could be avoided, possibly using tiles like the half-timbered portion? Brick on, Jakorin!
  20. How are everyone's Challenge III builds coming? This thread seems somewhat abandoned, and I hope that is because everyone is busy cranking out amazing builds for Challenge III. I am making progress on my Category B and C entries, but I took a break tonight to finish another AoM build: Keld's Clear-Thinkers' Ale - Inn Phase I

  22. Keld's Clear-Thinkers' Ale | Slegengr | Mitgardia
  23. Thanks, Hammerhand! --- I have updated my post to include an image with smoke composed of ice-cream pieces. I like it much better than the slope smoke.
  24. Keld sets out with his cart to sell his Clear-Thinkers' Ale, otherwise known as apple cider. It is said that Keld makes the best apple cider in all of Historica. Two patrolling Mitgardians stop for a drink, and Keld joins them in enjoying the fruits of his labors. Finding success with his sales, Keld begins to dream of bigger things for the future... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- C&CC welcome! This is a similar design to the cart I used for my horse mill, incorporating fixes for the portions I was not satisfied with. Edit: Updated the first three photos with better photo editing.
  25. Welcome to Eurobricks, ELItheICEman! I am looking forward to seeing your large Aquazone build. I spent many an hour in my childhood building and playing with Aquazone.
